Note: I’m so sorry I’m posting this late! I had a late night at work and my weekend ended up being busier than I thought because of the stupid holiday. I hope you’re all doing well 💖
Series Masterlist
Your phone buzzed just as your cool down ended on the treadmill. Swiping out of YouTube you open the message app to see a text from Cassian.
Cass: I spy a car comin down the driveway :)
You scream in excitement, booking it out of the home gym, taking the stairs two at a time up to the first floor. Cassian stands by the front door typing away on his phone only looking up when you grab his bicep, pulling on his arm out of excitement.
“How long have they been gone now?” Cassian asks
“3 weeks and 2 days,” you respond immediately. “It’s the longest we’ve been apart since we got engaged.” For the first time in your relationship Azriel had to travel to Europe for work. Typically, if he went to a different state within driving distance Azriel would try his best to come home the same day or first thing the next morning. Whatever was going on required more than a day trip.
You had hoped Azriel would bring you with him last minute. By the time you were kissing him goodbye it sunk in that you weren’t tagging along. Just him, Rhys, and a few of his men.
Watching the car inch down the driveway was maddening. You swear whoever was driving was going slow on purpose.
The black SUV finally came to a stop in front of the front porch, all four doors plus the trunk open all at once. Cassian opens the front door to greet his brothers but Azriel cuts him off. “Where is she?” Azriel asks quickly. He pushes his sleek black sunglasses on top of his head to shoot Cassian a serious glare. His brother smirks at him, stepping aside to reveal you practically bouncing up and down.
The smile on Azriel’s face grows to dazzling as soon as his hazel eyes land on you. You don’t even get to cross the threshold to greet your fiance. Azriel clears the small stone steps and porch to fling his broad body at you, wrapping you in his arms. Muscle memory has you putting your arms in their rightful place, wrapped around his neck, pulling Azriel impossibly closer to you. He buries his face in the crook of your neck breathing you in, reveling at the feel of you against him after so long.
Azriel’s hands travel slowly down your back to your thighs, scooping you up and pressing his forehead to yours. “My love,” he murmurs, pressing little pecks to your lips. “Oh my love, I missed you like you wouldn’t believe.”
You press a long, wanting kiss to his lips. “Missed you more.” You whisper against him. “I doubt that,” Azriel groans, deepening the kiss, pressing you to his body.
You break apart from him with a small ‘oh’, just remembering the thing you’ve patiently been waiting to show Azriel. Pushing on his chest gently to be put down Az complies, still keeping his hands planted on your waist. After being away for so long Azriel refuses to let you wander farther than arms length.
“I wanna show you something. I got something while you were away, it’s kinda crazy though.” You smile and scrunch your face. He raises a brow in confusion as to what his quiet girl could’ve done.
“Don’t keep me in suspense angel, what did you do?” Azriel teases, trying to pull you back to him. You lightly push against his chest to turn with your hip towards Az.
“You know how you always hold my hip right here and pull me close to you? And you leave me notes in the morning when you leave for work or when you go away?” Azriel nods, a soft smile pulling at his lips.
Your heart starts pounding, cheeks flushing from the shyness that’s suddenly overcome you.
“Well, I kept rereading the note you left and the others. I noticed you always sign them ‘Always yours, Forever mine’ and loved it. When I was reading them I realized I wanted something more permanent than pen and paper.” You watch as the realization of what you’ve done dawns on Azriel’s face.
Your loving fiance does his best to hold back a feral grin. Keeping his composure as he nods for you to show him the permanent change you’ve made to your body in honor of him.
Turning your right hip to Azriel you pull the waistband of your pants down, revealing your tattoo. Forever on your skin in Azriel’s handwriting is “Forever Mine”.
Azriel’s jaw drops and his eyes widen to the size of dinner plates. He drops to his knees slipping his hands under yours so he can really look at the ink you got for him. Your hands immediately find home in Azriel’s soft, dark hair, your fingers gently running through it like you’ve longed to do for weeks.
“Is it healed?” He asks. “Yeah. You can touch it if you want, love.”
The rough pads of Azriel’s fingers lightly drag across the words tattooed on you. His head tilts up to you again. A lovesick on his face, making his usually sharp features soften. “You got this for me?” His voice just above a whisper. You nod with a small smile pulling at your lips.
Azriel’s pupils take over his bright hazel irises. He bends his head down and presses a long kiss to your tattoo.
Azriel stands, his hands moving to cradle your face, his forehead resting on yours. “I will always be yours, my sweet girl.” Azriel presses a long kiss to your lips. “God, I fucking missed you.” He laughs out. “I can’t believe you got that.”
“Do you like it?”
“Do I like it? My love, you are insane if you think I hate that tattoo. I fucking adore it. It’s hot that you got a tattoo for me.” You giggle and kiss Azriel some more.
Az scoops you up in his arms, carrying you towards the en suite bathroom. You raise a questioning brow at him as Az crosses the threshold.
“I have airplane germs all over me and we haven’t been together in almost a month. I’m not showering without you. Plus I need to stare at that tattoo some more, completely unobstructed.”
You roll your eyes at Azriel’s dramatics. “Fine. But you’re watching my show with me later.” Azriel gives you a wicked grin at the mention of later, knowing you’ll be busy as soon as you get in the shower together.
I’m craving some eris x reader content (since your fics are legit my fav you capture his character perfectly) I’m thinking more angst but I am not opposed to fluff 🙃
The Great Divide
Eris x reader
note: thank you so much! I feel like I haven't written for Eris in so long, especially just an angsty fic
warnings: angst, no happy ending
“I thought I’d find you here,” you say plainly striding into the part of the library Eris has claimed as his. A handmade walnut table sits in the middle of bookcases that have been pulled over to be makeshift walls. Books and parchment cover the table's surface, even more are crammed onto the shelves.
In the middle of it all is Eris. Illuminated by the soft lamp light the general and eldest son of Autumn looks ethereal.
Your heart can’t help but flutter in a way that worries you. Your feelings for Eris have been like walking on a frozen lake. You don’t know which parts are safe to step on or when you’ll be plunged into freezing water.
You wait for Eris to acknowledge your presence before you say something else. Just a look or even a pensive hum will do. You don’t get your wish as his amber eyes stay glued to the papers in front of him.
“You missed our meeting,” you say as casually as possible but the hurt you’ve been harboring came through anyway. You waited over two hours by the lake for Eris to show up this afternoon.
Whenever you can, you and Eris take time to be away from the Forest House with each other. You’re not entirely sure what you two are, if you’re dating or something more. You want him and you think Eris wants you. He’s been distant for a few days now.
“I wasn’t aware you were on my schedule.” Eris says without looking up from the page he’s studying. You feel your heart cease beating for a few moments at his cold tone. Eris has never been short with you even with others around. Not even with his father near.
Taking a step backward you try to collect yourself. “Apologies, my prince.” You bow your head mostly so he wouldn’t see the tears welling in your eyes. Not that Eris would react with how this conversation is going. “Y/n there is no need to address me that way.”
A sarcastic laugh leaves your lips. “I thought that’s what you were insinuating.” Eris steps around his desk making you step back again. Eris freezes, his face distorted in panic.
You find the strength to pick up your head to look into his amber eyes, swallowing the growing lump in your throat. “Is there…did you need anything?” Eris asks, trying not to sound too empathetic. You shake your head no at him, refusing to look at him again.
You turn to leave his secluded part of the library, a foreign feeling taking shape in your chest at the divide Eris has just made clear between you. “Please, do let me know if your schedule opens up. I’d hate to inconvenience you by coming by unannounced.” Eris physically winces at your harsh words. He deserves them, there isn’t a doubt in his mind about that.
Maybe one day Eris can explain it all to you and you can forgive him for this. In a twisted way he’s doing this to keep you safe. The threats Beron had strung together this afternoon were so vile Eris had to rush back to his rooms to be sick. Images of females that got too close to his brothers from the past haunting him.
If anything happened to you the likes of Jesminda, or Lyra, or Dianna he would never be able to forgive himself. Hell, he wouldn’t be able to live. The idea of any harm coming to you makes him ill.
Eris tells himself that it’s for the best if you stay away from each other anyway. It will save you both the heartache and anxiety of sneaking around more. He’ll be keeping an eye on you. Just to make sure Beron won’t go near you and then he’ll leave you alone.
You start to finally warm up with the help of your friends ;)
warnings: suggestive, touching, illusions to sex
note: Another poly+ week comes to an end which means I can binge read everything! I hope you all enjoyed these fics and another huge thanks to @acourtofladydeath for organizing this fic week.
“Below the castle are natural baths, almost like a hot spring! You should go down to warm up,” Viviane suggested to you after dinner. Deciding to stop being miserable you take Vivian’s suggestion once everyone else has retired for the evening.
Throwing on a fluffy robe, slippers and grabbing the thickest towel you can find, you head down to the baths. What you don’t notice are the shadows trailing at your heels.
As you descend the stairs you feel the air change. The humidity gets thicker and the temperature rises a few degrees with every step. You let out a content sigh, the chill finally starting to leave your bones as the pleasant heat kisses your skin.
The wide cavernous room takes your breath away. The room is all smooth gray stone, a domed ceiling with lights reflecting off of what look like icicles hanging. Steam rises from 6 different in-ground pools around the room. You gravitate towards the one with a good amount of steam rising from the surface of the water. Just to make sure you were right about the temperature you kick off your slippers to dip your toes in.
Your head falls back and you let out a sigh, feeling the warmth course through you. You quickly shed your bathrobe and nightgown to fully submerge yourself in the bath. The warm–borderline scalding actually–water laps at your shoulders. Sitting on the little built in stone bench you rest your head back against the edge of the bath.
You stay like that for a long time, reveling in the fact that the water isn’t losing warmth and you can stay down here as long as you like.
Mere moments later you feel something skitter across the back of your neck, making you jump. You sit up, whipping your head around to see what could have possibly touched you. A wisp of darkness shyly inches away from the edge of the bath, almost hanging its head in shame for scaring you. “Come here,” you say gently, holding out your palm for Azriel’s little shadow. It wiggles a little before flying at your hand, slowly swirling in your open palm. “What are you doing so far from Az?”
“It’s not,” a familiar voice says, followed by the sight of two tall Illyrians smiling down at you, towels hanging low on their hips. The shadow comes to a halt as your jaw drops slightly at the glorious sight before you. Your cheeks are turning redder by the second and not from the temperature of the water.
Azriel gives his shadow something of a disapproving look and it rushes back to rest at his shoulders with the others. Cassian moves from Az’s side to test the water himself, letting out a pleasant hum. “Mind if we join you, love?” Cass asks with a wicked smirk. You feel your brain stop functioning for a long moment at the question. No way this is happening. You definitely went back to bed after dinner and are now having an insane dream due to the chill from earlier.
You realize you’re staring strangely at your best friends (who you wish were more than just friends) and force yourself to nod yes. As the pair drop their towels with yours you avert your gaze. They slip into the bath on either side of you. Cassian spread his wings a little to stretch the joints and let them rest in the hot water.
You stare at them as they relax, wishing they were able to be this at peace all the time. You wish you could be with them all the time.
Azriel’s hazel eyes meet yours. You get a little ashamed, being caught staring at his beautifully muscled and tattooed chest. He gives you a small smile and you quickly look down at the ripples in the water.
“Hey,” Az whispers, inching closer to you. So close that your bare thighs now touch. You can’t look him in the eye like this. Or Cassian, who seems to just be enjoying himself, floating with his chest up and wings spread enough not to touch anything.
You fold your arms against your chest, bringing your hands just another surface to pick at your nails to distract from Azriel’s proximity. He gently hooks a scarred finger under your chin letting his thumb rest just below your lip. “You don’t need to be shy with us, love.” Azriel gives you one of those soft rare smiles that makes your stomach do flips. “I-I’m not it’s just, I just-” you stutter out, not totally sure where you were going with your sentence. “We’ve just never been this close is all.” You murmur.
“No, but Cass and I have wanted to be, with you that is.” Az slightly trips over his words. You feel yourself calm down a little at his nerves shining through.
Cassian settles himself behind you, pressing his chest to your back, snaking his arms around your waist to keep you close to him. You lean into his touch like you’ve wanted to all day. Finally warm and relaxed in his strong arms. “Is this ok?” You ask, your hands moving to hold Cassian’s forearms. “More than you know baby,” Cass says with a smirk, lightly biting at your earlobe then pressing a kiss to the side of your head. “You’re ours baby, don’t even try to deny it.”
“And we’re yours,” Azriel adds, his face so close to yours your lips are almost touching. Your stomach drops like one of them just dropped you out of the sky and the other caught you too close to the ground.
Taking the plunge you lean forward pressing your lips against Azriel’s. He kisses you back, sending chills through your body. Azriel cups your jaw keeping you close to him, deepening the kiss. You moan against his lips and grab at his hips.
Cassian runs his calloused hands down your sides to rest on your thighs squeezing them. You melt into him even more. Cassian pulls you onto his laps grinding his hardened length against your ass sending a wave of pleasure through your body. Breaking away from Azriel you turn to connect your lips with Cassian’s. He devours you like a man starved, forcing your lips to part for his tongue.
You break away for air, your breathing turns heavy as you collect yourself and process the hands still roaming your body. “Are you warmed up yet?” Cassian says with a deep laugh. Looking between them you return their wicked smirks. “I think I’m still a little chilly. Anyway you two can fix that?” Cassian and Azriel snap their heads up to look at each other. That long lived, silent bond between them letting them communicate. Cassian climbs out of the bath with you in his arms as Azriel grabs your towels to wrap you up for the speedy walk back to their room.
When your supernatural senses overwhelm you, your mates know exactly how to help.
warnings: none
note: I thought I wasn't going to write vampire!neris this year but here it is! I was editing the original fic and it was so boring to me and then this hit me and I knew it was perfect for the peace theme.
Sometimes you hear too much, feel too much. You’re so jealous of your mates. They seem to be able to turn their senses on and off at the drop of a hat. There are days you have to remind yourself you are a young vampire and they have lived this way for hundreds of years before you.
Not wanting to bother Eris or Nesta with this miniscule problem, you’ve taken to trying to calm yourself on your own. You’ve done everything from meditation sessions to using ear plugs to shutting yourself in the bedroom closet for hours at a time just to get away from your senses.
Today is another one of those days where you can hear everything. From the water dripping through the pipes in the walls to the thoughts of the people living in your old village miles and miles away. You decided a walk around the upper floors of the castle would help you calm down. Taking deep breaths you try to focus on the sound of your footsteps or the rustling of your dress skirts, but nothing. The voices from the village keep pounding away at your eardrums driving you to the brink of madness.
“Y/n?” your name from Nesta’s lips has the walls closing in around you. Her voice was everywhere, crawling over your skin and sinking claws into you. You practically jump out of your skin as she silently runs from the other end of the hall, appearing in front of you. A growl slips from your throat at her intrusion.
“Y/n, what’s going on?” Nesta runs her fingers gently down your arm making you twitch and violently pull away from her. Your shoulders curl inward, pulling your arms into you, trying to rub the uncomfortable feeling of Nesta’s touch from your skin.
Nesta hums, understanding your actions, getting hit by the memory of her and Eris’s first few years as vampires. The overwhelming sense of everything attacking her.
“Come on, let's go see Eris so we can help you.” Nesta gently wraps her arms around you so as not to irritate you too much, guiding you towards Eris’s office.
“Oh, my heart,” Eris coos. “What’s wrong? You’re trembling like a leaf in the wind.” Nesta sets you down on the couch between them, hoping their presence alone can help ground you.
You feel your senses settle a little. Touches from your mates feel like rocks pelting your skin and the fabric of the couch feels like sitting on pins and needles. You curl in on yourself once again, fiddling with your hands in your lap, your head hung low so they wouldn’t see your tears.
“Everything is just-just so gods damn loud! Why can I feel everything I hear an-and why can I hear EVERYONE when they are so far from us?! I don’t know how much more of it I can take before I rip my eardrums out!” Eris gives you a sympathetic look, clasping his hands in his lap so he’s not tempted to touch you. “Can I try something that helped Nesta when we first turned?”
You stare at Eris with tear stained cheeks and fury in your eyes. Not at them, never. Not when you asked to be like this, to be with them forever. You’re angry because you feel weak. Like it’s taking you too long to adjust. You nod in defeat and Eris leans into you, his forehead resting against yours. Eris takes your hands in his as Nesta covers your ears with hers, pressing down hard to block out any sound in the room and beyond.
The chatter from the village and the creaks and groans from the castle dull and you relax against them. “That’s it my heart, just relax.” Your eyes widen as they meet his warm amber ones. Eris can’t help the smirk that spreads across his lips. This was new. At least to you.
“I know, heart. Telepathy is a common power among vampires. Yours will develop soon, I promise.”“You should’ve told me,” you pout at him.
“I know, I’m sorry.” Eris teases.
“Do you hear anything that’s bothering you?” Nesta asks sweetly.
You pull your focus from your mate for a moment to think. There’s nothing. No voices, no creaks and groans or dripping water from pipes. Just your mates.
“No,” you say, an air of relief in your voice.
You put your full weight on Eris, pulling Nesta with you to be a comfortable weight on your back. “Can we stay like this for a while?” They hold you tighter. Nesta presses a kiss to the back of your head. “We can stay here as long as you like.” she reassures you. “And we’ll teach you how to block it all out, heart.” Eris promises, placing a kiss on your lips.
Finally, you sigh to yourself, peace in your own mind.
Just like Feyre picked her crown, you get to pick yours. Though you cannot imagine being Rhys and Feyre’s true equal.
warnings: none
note: there are so many places I would kill to explore in the acotar world and the House of Wind and everything it hides is one of them. I feel like describing the room where the crowns are kept is so hard because I have such a specific image in my head but it's not complete. I need SJM to write 20 pages about it and all the jewels with pictures included
You grip the barley there stone railing while Feyre and Rhys lead you down the narrow stone steps. Feyre’s fingers entwined with yours as you venture to a part of the House you never even knew existed. You’re sure you could live here for a thousand years and never know every room in the House of Wind.
Finally Rhys takes you down a hallway to a giant obsidian door. Resting his hand against the door letting some of his power out it unlocked swinging inward. You gasp at the dark stone shelves adorned with jewels resting on midnight blue cushions. Each one sparkling in the glow emitted from every inch of the walls. “Wow,” you gasp, awestruck by the beauty of them.
“That’s not even the best part.” Feyre whispers in your ear. What more could there possibly be.
Stepping into the room further was a wall with alcoves that eerily reminded you of a skulls resting place in catacombs. But there weren't any skulls down here. Quite the opposite.
In the incandescent purple-blue light, tucked away in these alcoves were crowns of Night. You don’t know where to look first! Each of them is beautiful in their own way. All beautifully handcrafted with gems scattered across bands and points and stars and little crescent moons.
Rhys rests his hands on your hips watching as you stare at the crowns in awe. “Which one do you like the most?”
“I don’t know. I feel like I could stare at them forever and not know.”
“I didn’t know either,” Feyre says. “Then it felt like one of them just called to me.”
You scrunch your brow in confusion. “What do you mean?”
“When I picked my crown.” She says. A fondness creeping over Feyre’s face as she keeps the memory of that night to herself. “Now it’s your turn.”
Your stomach and heart drop at the same time. “But I’m not a High Lady nor do I have a title that would justify me wearing a crown this extravagant.” Your voice shakes as you look back at the wall of crowns. Is this some kind of cruel joke? To show you something you’ll never have?
Rhys cups your face in his hands forcing you to look at him. “Never.” He says in that stern High Lord’s voice. “You are our mate. Our equal in every sense of the word. To think you are not worthy of a title or that you wouldn’t have one at all is utter nonsense.”
“We are both High Lady’s, y/n. Anything less for you would be unacceptable.”
Tears start to well in your eyes. “But…what if I don’t want to be? Or what if I am and I lead us down the wrong path and–” Rhys shushes you by softly pressing his lips to yours. “Nonsense.” He says. You look back at the sparkling crowns.
Your mates each wrap an arm around your waist, holding you between them. Your eyes dart from crown to crown taking in all the details. Already feeling the weight of the responsibility of your new title you take a breath. “I want to think about it for a while.”
“Take all the time you need y/n.” Rhys hums.
“You can still pick one if you want,” Feyre says with a smirk. “We can never say no to spoiling you.”
You push up on the balls of your feet, thinking which one called to you. After a long moment one crown seemed to shine brighter than all the others. It’s diamonds swooping up from the band to a sapphire in the center of the point. Feyre notices which one your gaze lingers on grabbing from its little alcove to rest it on your head.
Your mates look at you with bright adoring gazes. “You look beautiful y/n.” Rhys whispers. Tears line his eyes and a pulse of love comes down the bond right to your heart.
Arriving in the Winter Court in the middle of a storm has you shivering all over. Luckily, your two best friends are ready to keep you warm.
warnings: none
note: happy day 2 of @polysjmweek ! this was my favorite fic to write for the week because it gave me the best idea for day 7 which is a pretty steamy fic (pun intended, you'll get it in part 2 lol)
“Mother above,” you say through chattering teeth. You were no stranger to cold or harsh winter days in the Night Court. But the winter season in the Winter Court is truly something else. If you had known how cold and windy it was going to be you would’ve winnowed with Mor instead of visiting your friend in a nearby village first, then making the trek over to the palace. Thankfully it wasn't a long walk in the blizzard, though it felt like it.
As guards close to the doors to the massive palace once you’re inside you spot your favorite Illyrians led by one of Viviane’s assistants. Azriel sees you first, his hazel eyes lighting up as he takes you in. You notice the corners of his lips drop as he sees that you're shivering, his shadows curling next to his ears. He politely excuses himself and Cassian from the female and rush over to you.
“Thank goodness you made it in one piece.” Cassian says, pulling you into a giant warm hug. “Once the weather turned for the worst I had half a mind to go out looking for you.”
“I was fine Cass, honest.” You appreciated how worried your friends were but sometimes they could be over dramatic. Especially Cassian.
“You must be freezing,” Azriel says, freeing you from Cassian’s hold. He slips off your gloves cupping his hands around yours to heat them. “A little,” you giggle at Azriel’s touch. Heat flooding your cheeks at the way he looks at you with such care and gentleness. “Let’s get you warmed up then.” Az rests a scarred hand on your lower back to guide you towards your room for the next few days.
Cassian opens the door ushering you inside. A fire is already burning bright in the small hearth of the guest room and soft fur blankets are piled on the end of the bed. Your bag rests on a foot stool by the dresser waiting for you to unpack thanks to Mor.
“Here, let me help,” Azriel unbuttons your coat, sliding it off along with your hat and scarf. All of which are wet from the snow storm outside. Cassian wordlessly strides over to your bag to dig out fresh warm clothes for you. They reluctantly leave you to get settled for a bit since Rhys called them away.
You climb under the covers still violently shivering from your walk. A knock sounds on the door as you pull a blanket around your shoulders, Az and Cass poke their heads in. “We just wanted to check on you before our next meeting.” Cass says. “And we brought you something.” Az holds up a pair of dark, thick wool socks, the ones you have always been jealous of because they seem so warm.
Azriel kneels next to your bed gesturing for you to turn to him. You let him slip the socks on your feet as you try to bite back a smile. “Thank you,” you whisper. “You’re welcome.” Az says, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead. You wished his lips lingered. That his hands weren’t afraid to caress you. You look up at him with bright eyes as the heat fades from your cheeks.
Cassian ruffles your hair, his large hand lingering comfortably on the back of your head. You hold back from leaning into his grasp. His hand slips from your hair and he longingly looks at his palm.
Instead of saying anything, Cassian wraps the abandoned blanket snug around your shoulders, and pulls the down blanket, along with two throws over your lap. “Can we get you anything?” Your eyes quickly dart to the book poking out of your bag but you feel too bad to ask for it. Azriel notices as well as his shadows. The little wisps transport it from your bag to your lap making you smile.
“Warm up, love. We’ll check on you before dinner.” You nod at them as they leave, wishing they would stay and cuddle you. You’ve had dreams where you’re squished between them–some dreams less innocent than others. One day, maybe, you’ll get the courage to say something when you’re not cold and pathetic looking.
Azriel and Cassian couldn’t focus to save their lives. Their minds focused on you.
Are you warm yet? Your hands and face were so pale and cold it made them worry. Should they have called for a healer to check you over?
Too many questions ran through their heads as Rhys and Kal discussed borders and other High Lord duties they could commiserate in.
Azriel knew with a certainty that it was the mating bond that connected you to him and Cassian. He hadn’t stopped shivering since he laid eyes on you and he is rarely this cold. The Illyrians shared a look, as if to ask each other the same question of how and when?
note: sorry for not giving this a proper title I just didn't have it in me. Here's a little Bat boys period comfort since I've been feeling a little down the last couple of days
warnings: fluff/comfort
A rapid knock on the door startles Rhys. He’s been so caught up in paperwork he didn’t notice the time. “Come in,” Rhys yells out to his visitor.
Mor practically flies into the room. All Rhys did was blink and his cousin was over the threshold and in front of his desk. He rears back a little in shock, staring at Mor’s cheery yet scared face.
“Hi, I have something to tell you, but you have to promise not to freak out. Because everything is fine,” she rushes out. Rhys feels like he’s being thrown around the room by the speed of Mor’s voice alone. “Ok, tell me then.” Rhys demands before Mor can get another word out. Though he’s not sure what’s happening.
Mor takes a deep breath like she’s about to make a big confession. “Y/n is fine,” not a fantastic way to start in Rhys’s eyes. “She just…passed out a little,” Rhys shoots up from his chair, cutting Mor off. Instead of yelling questions he opts to run straight for the bedroom. He reaches out to Cassian and Azriel in his mind, summoning them home from wherever they are.
Before Rhys breaks down the door he composes himself and gently pushes into the room. The lights are all off and the curtains drawn. Rhys’ shoulders release some tension when you move under the covers, making a small groan. He sits on the edge of the bed next to your curled up form, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder. “My little darling,” he coos. “Are you alright? Mor told me what happened.” You groan again, turning to face Rhys.
A pout forms on your lips as you look up at him. Rhys lets out a small aww, brushing stray hairs away from your face. Azriel and Cassian rush into the bedroom, their chests heaving signaling they hustled back in a panic. “Oh, sweetpea,” Cassian sighs out. He toes off his boots and doesn’t hesitate to climb into bed, pulling you to his chest. Azriel silently sets himself down next to Rhys. His shadows ghosting over you making sure you’re healthy for their own sake. “Are you alright my love?” Azriel asks.
You nod your head against the pillow. “I’m ok,” you say, your voice sounding a little weak. Rhys holds the back of his hand to your forehead then your cheeks. His face pinches at how warm you feel. “My cycle came early and the pain hit me hard.” You say. Your three mates grimace in unison. “Did you get hurt when you fainted?” You shake your head at Rhys. Truthfully, if you were hurt you wouldn’t know since all you can feel is the ache from your cramps.
“Do you have cramps?” Cassian asks as Azriel asks, “Can we get you anything?”
“Can I have water and some juice please? And some crackers?” Azriel presses a kiss to your forehead with a promise of coming right back. You tilt your head back to look at Cassian, pout still on your lips. “My cramps are really bad. Will you rub my tummy Cass?”
“Of course sweetpea,” Cassian says. His big, calloused hands massaging your lower stomach giving you some relief. You melt into Cassian’s hold, your eyes fluttering shut at the warmth radiating off his skin.
“I’ll get you something for the pain.” Rhys whispers, kissing your cheek before disappearing into the bathroom for a tonic. After downing the nasty liquid you give Rhys another sad look. “Will you all cuddle with me?” There’s nothing in the world that would make Rhys, or any of your mates for that matter, say no to you. Especially when you’re hurting. “Of course we will, darling.”
Rhys slips under the covers next to you, running his fingers through your hair and scratching lightly at your scalp.
Just as you're about to doze off Azriel comes back with your drinks and crackers making you sit up a little. Az shoots you a look that has you resting against the headboard. He settles in front of you handing you the glass of water first and then some crackers to nibble on. You hold your hand out for the juice after a few bites but Azriel withholds telling you to finish the water first. You roll your eyes a little but finish it anyway, handing Az the empty glass. You sip lightly at the fruit juice before handing it to Rhys to put it aside for later. Laying back down you hold your arms open for Azriel to cuddle. He moves you to lay on his chest, Cassian moving to massage your lower back while Rhys still rubs your scalp.
“Sleep, darling.” Rhys whispers. You can’t fight the heavy feeling of your eyelids. It’s easy to drift off in the comfort of your mates. Wrapped up in their arms you already start to feel better.
Can I have either a Feysand or Nessian x reader where they like reader and they’re so obvious about it, everyone else in the IC knows about it except for reader, and it’s like “Just tell her, it’ll be fine.” and they’re like “no, (y/n) won’t be ok with this.” and reader walks in and is like “I won’t be ok with what?” so now they have to talk, happy ending.
About You
Nessian x reader
warnings: slight angst & fluff
Cassian found his mate doing something unusual. Not bad unusual or worrisome unusual. He found Nesta’s chosen activity to be quite endearing.
Abandoning her usual dark and cozy hideout in the library for basking in the sun in the gardens. Nesta, back leaned against the legs of a stone bench, picking the petals off a bright red Zinnia, twirling the short stem between her fingers with each pluck.
As Cassian crept closer he heard her muttering, “she loves us, she loves us not, she loves us,” over and over as she let the petals float down to the grass. Plopping himself down on the bench, Nesta keeps pulling at the petals. Cassian waits until she’s done to ask, “What did the flower do to you?” Nesta huffed in response, throwing the stem into a rosebush behind the bench, crossing her arms with another long exhale.
Cassian moves to sit on the ground next to his mate, lovingly tracing the apple of her sun kissed cheek. “Talk to me Nes,” he whispers. Nesta leans into Cassian and he moves his arm to pull his mate close, pressing a soft kiss to her head.
“I just wish she would notice, that she would say something first. I can’t imagine ruining our relationship with her, Cassian.” Nesta admits with an air of exhaustion. Cassian pulls her tight to his chest, letting Nesta rest her head over his heart. The ruby red siphon glowing softly in sync with his steady heart beat she finds so soothing.
“I know my love.” Cassian’s sighs. While he agrees with his mate there is a part of Cassian that wants to just out right tell you how he and Nesta feel. He’s lost on how to proceed. You aren’t some battle to be won, or puzzle to solve. Though the right piece could fall into place Cassian wouldn’t dare force it.
When all else fails him, Cassian relies on a tried and true bit of advice for his mate in times like this. “Have you talked to the girls about it?” Nesta tilts her head in contemplation. The thoughts race through her head of the outcome about telling Emerie and Gwyn of the massive crush they have on you.
“No,” she says slowly, squinting her eyes in thought and against the sun's bright rays as it emerges from behind a cloud. “Good thought though.” Nesta pecks Cassian’s cheek and resumes rest against his chest as she twirls another flower between her fingers.
After two restless nights Nesta has the lounge set up for her, Gwyn, and Emerie to have a long talk. The girls float in, talking and giggling a little, as Nesta takes a seat in Cassian’s usual large armchair.
Gwyn picks up on Nesta’s somber mood first. The red head quickly takes her seat, taking the teapot from the center of the coffee table to fill mugs. “What’s the sad face for?” Emerie asks softly, diving right into the assorted pastries. Nesta lets out a deep, shaky breath. “It’s about y/n.”
They freeze, staring wide eyed at Nesta in shocked silence. “y/n?” Emerie asks sharply. “What did she do?” Gwyn asks, taking the gentler approach.
“Nothing!” Nesta amends quickly. Hopefully shoving any thoughts of wrong doing by you from their heads. “y/n has done nothing wrong. Quite the opposite actually.” A small smirk pulls at Nesta’s lips.
“Then what!” Emerie waves her hands in an impatient way. Her wings twitch.
“Keep your voice down,” Nesta grits out.
“Then spit it the hell out!”
Nesta takes a long sip of her tea. Partly to get her thoughts together. Mostly to stall.
Making a big show of putting her mug down, adjusting plates and food, Nesta folds her slender hands in her lap. “Over the last few months Cassian and I have developed a sort of…crush on her.”
Gwyn and Emerie give each other amused looks. “Well…we all kind of figured.”
“We?” Nesta raises a brow at them.
Gwyn stumbles to recover, fumbling over her words. “What she means to say,” Emerie interjects. “Everyone has found it kind of obvious that you two have a crush on y/n.”
Nesta thought she and Cassian were good at hiding their attraction to you. Did they spend too much one on one time with you? Maybe. But they tried to not give you any special treatment so as not to make their friends and family feel left out. Yes, they got you little treats but nothing they wouldn’t get the others. And they treated you to nice dinners because you deserve it.
“So! When are you guys going to make your move?” Gwyn practically vibrates now that they can talk about this freely. Nesta gives them another dejected look. “That’s the problem. We aren’t sure she would be interested.”
Gwyn and Emerie let out yells of disbelief. “Come on!”
“You two cannot believe that!”
Nesta shushes them again. “Cassian and I don’t want to risk our friendship with her. y/n is just too important to us.” Gwyn takes Nesta’s hand in hers. “I think you just need to tell her Nesta. Em and I are positive y/n feels the same way about you two.”
“Again, I don’t think y/n would be ok–” The creaking of the heavy wooden door cuts Nesta off. The appearance of your curious face has Nest pailing in panic.
“What wouldn’t I be ok with Nes?” You ask sweetly, your head tilted. Cassian appears behind you looking like he’s just been caught with dessert before dinner. Nesta gives him a cold stare, silver flames threatening to break free of her irises.
Emerie pulls Gwyn from the couch quickly excusing themselves to give the three of you privacy. The door quietly clicks shut behind them.
You look between Nesta and Cassian waiting for an explanation why your friends were talking about you. You felt a little bad eavesdropping on their conversation, but you couldn’t help that your ears decided to tune in at the mention of your name. Cassian had tried to pull you away, clearly picking up on what the conversation was about.
Cassian gives Nesta a look that says it’s time. Nesta slips her hand in Cassian's, squeezing it gently. “Y/n, for a while Nes and I have felt like you are more than a friend to us,” Cassian starts. Nesta rolls her eyes at his bland approach. She could tell you wanted a direct answer and dancing around the subject wasn’t going to help them. “What Cassian means is that we want a real relationship with you. We’re in love with you y/n. And if you don’t feel the same way, if you are put off by this, we understand completely.” They give you a nervous look as you take in what they’ve dropped on you.
Taking a step closer to them you sneak your hand between Cassian and Nesta’s entwined fingers. They loosen their grip on each other to let you in. A grin spreads across your lips and you stare up at them lovingly. “How could you ever think I wouldn’t want this?” Nesta and Cassian let go of the tension in their bodies. “All these months, spending time together, has been everything to me. I don’t want it to stop.”
Cassian pulls you into a crushing hug that has you melting against his chest. He presses a long kiss to the top of your head. Nesta still has your hand in hers, not wanting to let go in case none of this is real. Like it’s all too good to be true and you’ll slip away from her.
“We’ll treat you so good love, swear it.” He says. You break away from Cassian’s hold turning to Nesta. You can’t tell if she’s holding back tears or a smile. You pray to the Mother it’s not tears. Nesta is unfairly pretty when she cries.
A grin twin to yours appears on her face as you move to embrace Nesta. She holds you tight to her body, pressing a kiss against your cheek. “I don’t want to stop spending time with you either.” You press a quick kiss to Nesta’s lips, smirking at the feeling of her heart beating rapidly against your chest and the sudden stillness taking over her body.
Nesta kisses you back harder. Her fingers carding through your hair, gently pulling at the strands. You smile as she pulls away slowly. “Dinner tonight. Just the three of us. Make sure you wear something pretty.” You nod, pulling away from her. “I’ll see you tonight then.” You walk out the door sending a wink over your shoulder before disappearing around the corner. You can’t wait to see what they have planned.
