Also, obviously your art is amazing. You are very skilled and have great vision. I adore the clothing you draw for them that's inspired by more that just that basic white people pseudo-medieval leather fantasy that everyone else and their mother is doing :D I mean they're well in their rights to enjoy it, but it gets old when it's everywhere and it's not exactly my thing. I love the beautiful diverse influences you use with such your own creative charm ❤️

the worldbuiling in Acotar has way too much space for it to be limited to the euro-default. It doesn't give me ✨fantasy✨. We have many cultures to provide us the actual magical experience like (for example) South asian cultures can. hellooo?? look at this:

I was ANNOYED when we went from the little indian aesthetic in acomaf to white american. Indian culture fits the vibe Sjm had in mind for Night court and the Inner circle.

But I'm making the Night Court Turkic inspired cause South Asia has a big role that haunts the story and Indian culture specifically is crucial to Mor's journey and the Hewn city. I have to cut the connection between Night and Autumn for that, meaning Mor and Eris ain't related. That's all I'm revealing!

Which courts would you explore in detail aside from Night and Spring (if you don't mind telling)?

It‘s pretty much all actually! Of course we‘ll spent the most amount of time in Night and Spring, but the courts are essential to the story 🙌 Each have their big parts to play

you mentioned that you're making a comic(which btw I'M SO EXCITED FOR I JUST KNOW ITS GOING TO BE LOVELY) so what's the story going to be about?? Is it a continuation of the gwynriel comic you made before??

It’s an illustrated rewrite of the entire acotar series actually! So starting from the first book 🤭 it’s more so high fantasy than romantasy. I‘d like to bring out the vibe shows like atla, demon slayer, and ghibli movies (especially howl’s moving castle and spirited away) do.

Let me be clear that it is going to be entirely different to the original. So I hope people won’t nag me when their favorite scene isn‘t included or completely changed.

Say more about Nesta and Mor?

I think I‘ve revealed enough about Nesta. So this is just about Morrigan now!

(This was made a few months ago. I contuined today so the colors look off)

Addressing the obvious: my version of Mor is South Asian (I‘m leaning toward Indian for now). There’s a reason for this as her heritage plays a very big role in her arc and of the Night court‘s history. (Please ignore any inaccuracies in her clothing, it’s just a scribble of how I picture her now). I would remove her biological ties to the Vanserras since that wouldn’t make sense.

—She’s also suppose to be tall as Rhys. I think I’ll make her curvier in the future too.

Second, I‘m scrapping out her „truth“ power because the vague description didn’t work for me, and it doesn’t make sense to have a lie detector when Azriel is already torturing for the truth. I’m not revealing her powers yet, but they involve bending an opponent’s energy or abilities and her identity and power come from the great rite (like Gwyn). At the moment, she believes she has no powers, so her story will include a magic-discovery arc. It will all make sense once I post the character sheets.

She has a strong personality and can come off as harsh toward Feyre. That’s because Feyre’s very existence is a literal invitation for war. Seriously, It’s dangerous for the Inner Circle to have her around while the other courts and foreign kingdom want her dead— or use her for power. (which Mor knows Rhys is planning to do). It’s bad enough that they have a bad reputation, so she and the others (except Cassian) aren’t comfortable with this stranger knowing about the inner circle. She takes it out on Feyre at the beginning, but you‘ll get to know her better and Mor & Feyre will build a connection. Sometimes you‘ll see her crashout (comically) because of assholes like Amren, but overall, she’s blunt, reasonable and just wants what’s best for her loved ones and court.

Regarding her past, she does lie about something crucial but it’s a valid lie. Personally, I think it’s far better than the original (not to brag, I just really like the story I crafted for Mor) Also, the dynamic between Cassian, Mor, and Azriel won’t be weird or gross. Cassian and Mor are definitely more like siblings than whatever they are in the series, though Azriel still sees them that way.

Character design WIP: Cresseida

She still looks pretty rough (especially her jewelry), but this is how I picture her.

I might redesign her in the future, because I‘m not sure if I‘ll stick to this for the remake, but I like it so far.

Wait!! In your idea of making a retelling of Acotar, are you going to include your previous ideas, like the darker aspects: Feyre & her powers and how Rhys would first want to "use" her for his own purpose; and Azriel with his connection to Hel and all about demon vs priestess??

Also, YES to the villains; they should be more scary, vile, and gory. Marcellus and his disfigured features by the cauldron and his previous friendship with Jurian, chef's kiss.

I'm so curious about your ideas regarding Elain, Nesta, and Lucien in this darker Acotar. I'll wait patiently. You keep cooking 😌

I think I made the mistake of calling it a retelling, when it’s more of a remake. English isn’t my first language and I couldn’t think of the right word. The ‚previous‘ Ideas are actually main ideas for the story! (It’s all tagged under #concept art).. I‘m sorry for the confusion

I‘m obsessed with the villain I created. The Villain Lore is planned out and written down and now I‘m working on the types of ‚Hybern‘ (I still need a name) creatures that exist and the messed up things they do. The way Sjm writes these villains just itches me in all the wrong places, and so I feel compelled to change that! Marcellus friendship with Jurian owns my heart 🥹

And God- you’re in for a ride for those 3!! I love character depth and exploring their flaws so much so, that I literally have the entire Archeron and Vanserra family lores written down. I also figured out what to do with Nesta‘s „death“ powers and you‘ll get a sneak peek of Elain‘s character on Elainweek!

I‘m SO excited for you all to see what I‘ve been planning (but it needs a lot of time). I‘ll just keep on writing and practicing on my drawing skills so that the end results will be ✨perfect✨. It makes me happy that you already like the few ideas I‘ve shared, so thank you for the love and support 🤧❤️
