beauty knew acting
whom was the appeal
and who it heard
and used on the tower
and thus of the playing
and where it was all at
and moved as it was the construction
and placed on the theme
and carry as its own goal
and real of the stretch
and its own having
and said from the ignition
and its own display
and bubble
and its own place
and where it was the start
and chase

So often I find myself regressing into my thoughts. Perhaps, I'm not really as shy as I've believed myself to be, rather I simply prefer my own company than the company of others. In my company--in my head--I can escape to these other worlds that I've created for myself. I can interact with characters, with people, I've made up. I can go on adventures with them, adventures I could never experience anywhere than in my own realities.
Maybe this is why I enjoy acting so much. When I'm on stage or in front of a camera, I get the opportunity to taste the adventures I so often create in my head. I get to escape from this reality, and hopefully, allow the audience to escape with me. They get to see inside these worlds I've created, and see why I prefer it so much. To catch a glimpse of the adventures I dream. I get to carry them away to the worlds I love, and help them create worlds of their own.
And I think this is one of the many reasons I love to act.
I found you. Now how do I get you to stay?
Here's a text post about college.
So, if you all remember, I got into a BFA Acting program and well...tomorrow is my first day of class! And so I think this is going to turn into a log of my adventures/picture blog if y'all don't mind.
I had a "BFA Meet-n-greet" today, so all BFA programs were there. This means BFA Theatre Design, Dance, Musical Theatre, and Acting. I walked into the theatre and instantly felt at home. Being almost completely across the country from my home is really hard, and I was so thankful that the theatre kids in little old Missouri were just exactly the same as the theatre kids in California. And some people had some real nice style. Basically, I love everyone that I have met so far, and I am so looking forward to meeting more people in the program and getting to know everyone better.
I will most definitely post about my classes this week (if you guys even care?), and continue to post about all the exciting things I am doing over here! Tomorrow, I only have my tech theatre class (I was supposed to have Voice & Movement as well but the meeting got canceled), but I will still let you know how it goes!
Keep Calm and Act On.
