As I mentioned before, I have been participating in an Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange programme which focused on the topics of youth, conflict and peace. I have learned many valuable things and different ways to see things from other participants. And learned various things about the topics which I did not know before.
One of the things that most excited me was the UN Security Council Resolution 2250. It is a resolution adopted by the security council on 9th December 2015. The importance of the document is that it formalizes Youth, Peace and Security as a relevant political field and recognizes young people as peacebuilders. As many of you might have experienced older people tend to ignore ideas and works of younger people. And recognition from UN in the area where youth can do so many things gives us support and strength in our work to make world a better a more peaceful place. It means our work is not to be ignored or dismissed anymore. For me the document and the power and the voice it gives to youth is so important, because the more ideas we are able to hear in the searching of solution for conflict and violence the better and applicable will the solution be.
Above I will be leaving the visualized version of the UNSCR 2250 which was prepared by #Youth4Peace. You can find more information on the resolution and the topic at their website and the website of UN.
