Carrying a show is a great responsibility and buyers want to ensure they pick the right person. This is why, often, main roles get cast way before the breakdowns hit the main casting platforms and agencies. It's just the smaller roles that end up being open to casting actors who match the essences of the characters that might not be super renowned or known by the buyers. But those actors still need to be perfect professionals to end up being considered. Someone with an undefined brand has no chance. Trying to be eveything to everyone will lead them nowhere.
