Say I was in your position, and you were in mine--would you be able to handle my pain? Would I be able to handle yours? My own pain is caused by my fickleness and confusion, but you are so logical that maybe it wouldn't compute. You wouldn't understand it. But then, if you were in my position does that mean that the pain would no longer exist? And if I were in your position, would I be able to handle your physical pain and mental anguish as well as you do? Could I handle the daily torment as elegantly as you do? Would I hold myself together or would I let you shatter?
I have heard that everything we go through is nothing that we can't handle. So your pain is something you can handle. My pain is something I can handle. Pain, is a universal language, spoken in many dialects, and yet, to each person it is tailored. But what of those who couldn't handle what the universe had so craftily bestowed upon us? You and I have both shattered so many times before, that we no longer bother counting the new cracks or acknowledging the impact. But it still hurts doesn't it? Even when we're numb, we can still feel it, can't we? For those who have lost our battles, did we really lose, or did we simply lose track of the many times we won?
