Quite a predicament, wasn’t it? He’d barely even settled in, the past few days spent getting his bearings and making himself acquainted with his surroundings as best he could-- no small feat when there were so many things that he still could not understand, both their purpose and how exactly they functioned. And yet he already found himself imprisoned for no reason at all!
... At least, he assumed this was a cell of some sort. The bars were familiar enough, though the furnishings were much less sparse than the last prison he’d been unfortunate enough to see the inside of. The knight cradled one of his medals ‘tween his hands, a nervous fiddling he couldn’t quite seem to stop, hard as he tried. It felt strange to be as bare as he was; no helmet, no shield, no sword. They could hardly demand of him to strip down to his unmentionables so, thankfully, the seemingly-undead fellows who’d dragged him here had let him retain his chain mail and boots at the very least.
Still! Still. It was hardly fair! Their mumblings and groans had fallen just short of being understandable to Solaire, and so he was left without even the hint of an explanation why he was stuck in this (all things considered not very) horrible place. He’d spoken up before, several times in fact, but he’d received nothing but cold shoulders and more unintelligible groaning.
The knight weighed his options. Breaking out was one of them, of course, but this town was hardly large enough to allow him to escape from the law’s long arm. He could simply wait, and find out just what was in store for him, which surely couldn’t be that bad--
But, ah, a glimmer of hope! A face unlike the rest, beige skin rather than rotted green, a fellow who looked rather alive in fact. Solaire positively perked up, halting his fumbling for a moment.
“Ser?” He angled his head just so, positively staring at the suit-clad man through the bars. “It pains me to request assistance when I’ve little to offer in way of compensation, but might you be able to free me from this cage? Believe me, I’ve done no deed that is deserving of this.”
