Hi there! I wanted to try designing an alternative look for the interns from Psychonauts 2, with my own personal touch, haha ^^ I hope you'll like it !!

The Mystery Kids meet The Interns

aka who they'd all get along best with

Sam Mabel and Neil are instant best friends. They're all weird in the same way, i think they'd just instantly click. All three of them are just on the same wavelength. Her and Norman get along better than anyone expected. Norman can recognize a fellow weird kid when he sees one.

Adam and Dipper actually really enjoy hanging out together, despite them both taking a bit to warm up to each other. (Adam thinks Dipper is a bit too young for them to have anything in common). Once they both find out they like history/cataloging weird occurrences, they end up spending hours swapping notes. He's friendly to all of them, but isn't friends with them in the way the others are. He's a bit too old to hang out with them (with the exception of Dipper bc he's cool) (like in the way a high school senior hangs out with the freshmen). He's very charmed by Mabel and her grappling hook, and shows her yo-yo tricks.

Lizzie and Coraline are instant besties. (they both have blue hair and pronouns). Their personalities would mesh really well, plus Coraline probably reminds Lizzie of a less annoying Norma. Lizzie and Mabel also get along, much to Dipper's annoyance. (he's desperately trying to be friends with Lizzie and Adam bc they're cool older kids). Lizzie thinks Mabel is really fun, and they end up DIYing clothes together.

Gisu and Wybie get along really well after she finds out Wybie also likes engineering and tinkering. (they build so many unsafe machines together). Gisu finds Coraline annoying (a bit too much like Norma), but tolerates her bc she's friends with Wybie. Gisu also gets along well with Mabel and Norman (i don't really have any basis for this, just vibes). She likes talking gadgets with Dipper, but that's about it. Gisu bullied Neil (and everyone else too) at first, but quickly warmed up to him, and now they're pretty good friends.

Morris also gets along well with Wybie (they became friends through Wybie hanging out with Gisu). He makes a genuine effort to connect with Coraline (he thinks she's cool in the same way Lizzie is). Coraline bullies Morris in the same way she bullies Wybie (lovingly, that is)

Norma is (unwillingly) befriended by Mabel (mabel sees her as another pacifica). She tried to be friends with Coraline, but they both have the same type of abrasive personality, and it did not click.

au where characters are split up into their archetypes

Well you know I'm gonna start with Dion, but I'll try to do my three favorite aquatos in-depth since you didn't specify

Clown archetype, because he needs to let loose and act more silly sometimes, needs to break out of his shell. Dion is completely embarrassed by this archetype

Ringleader, his passion for acrobatics and also his desire to live up to his parent's expectations

a princess or female acrobat type bc he has gender feelings. Though alternatively, all of the archetypes could be girls if he wants to have a REVELATION

Maybe a greek god "Dionysus" who could be his desire to rebel or want for teenage recklessness/revelry. May also contribute lots of dramatic poetry

Frazie

"Fortune teller" sort of her internal image of what a psychic looks like based on those scary stories she heard growing up, her desire to give herself permission to be herself, no matter what that means

A character who looks most like her, but can go invisible or turn other people invisible, or maybe an archetype that can take on the general appearance of other people. The mask or the mirror, the way she hides herself from her family but also how she is charming and can fit into friend groups and has helped Raz hide his powers when it wasn't safe

Knife throwing performer who throws psychic blades at enemies while doing twirls, the marriage of her acrobat and psychic selves

Augustus

A "strongman" the way he tries to protect his family and carry all their burdens

Ringleader who works to coordinate things and helps him juggle so many kids and responsibilities, his ambition and desire to make the circus great

I'm trying to think of a "dad" archetype that just lets him grab his kids and hold them close and always know where they are. maybe a lighthouse keeper! Because he wants them to always be able to find their way home

Other random ideas are Norma as a detective, Morris going full pirate aesthetic (bc pirate radio lol), and Adam having a ninja or a brave knight. Lizzie has a brawler like from mortal kombat. Gisu has a mad scientist or a jester. Milla and Sasha having archetypes based on the other, a disco dancer for Sasha and a more reserved teacher type for Milla because they've helped each other grow and been such great influences on each other.

If everyone was split up into archetypes people would find new niches and get to know new sides of each other they didn't think would get along with!
