Happy STS! Do you have a lot in common with your characters or are they completely different from you? Also thank you for all your great writing and writeblr advice! 💕 - amapofyourstars
I have very little in common with my characters, actually! I’m not one of the writers that like to put myself into characters — there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just not my thing and I hate doing it. I prefer developing characters on their own trajectory, and trying to put myself inside them makes them less interesting and genuine to me.
That being said, Kaho in Project Vestige does have a lot of my experiences put into her backstory since we have similar backgrounds: American-born person with two Japanese parents. It’s honestly been a little uncomfortable writing someone who is so similar to me, and I’ve been really reluctant to write Japanese characters for that very reason — I know that not all Japanese people are the same (God knows I’ve been struggling with that assumption for my entire life), but it’s also undeniable that we go through a lot of really similar experiences. I decided to give it a shot though in my first solo project in who knows how long so that I can be the change I want to see in the world, which is to have more Japanese characters that are normal in non-Japanese stories.

Happy STS! What's the earliest story you can remember writing and/or coming up with? - amapofyourstars
Thank you for the ask @amapofyourstars! The very first story I started writing and gave up on was about an immortal samurai that was trying to rescue a princess because I was eleven and obsessed with Blade of the Immortal. Don’t let eleven year olds read that manga. I stopped writing it because in 100 pages nothing had really happened.
sort your characters. do it. do ittttttt.
Alright it took me like 45 minutes to sort these people so buckle up. I wasn’t gonna be as insane as Meagan in my sorting but she has been having that kind of influence on me lately.
Here are my characters from Remedy Orbit sorted into Hogwarts houses:
Tanda is totally a Gryffindor. She risks everything she has ever known to do what is right, and she is the one who decides not to take the mandatory cure for death because she wants to be able to choose for herself. She has a lot of nerve to defy the laws of her City the way she does, and she is incredibly brave because of it. She is very loyal to her brother, and when he gets in some deep shit because of her, she does whatever she can to fix it, even though it means going against her initial plans.
Tiede is a Ravenclaw because he is extremely intelligent and able to see the world in ways that many other people around him can’t. He is creative and can interpret things in his own way that others are afraid to. He’s brave, too, but not as outgoing as Tanda because of his severe anxiety, yet he still chooses to take her side and make a decision he deems will be the most wise in the end even though he knows he will suffer for it.
Aine is also a Gryffindor because although she is not related to Tanda or Tiede, she still cares about them and sides with them to do the right thing, even though she would be going against the whole City as well. Tanda and Tiede are twins and extremely close, so it makes sense that Tiede would side with his sister, but Aine doesn’t have that kind of obligation to either of them. When she was younger she was more shy because she faced discrimination, but as she grows up she learns to accept herself for who she is and not let other people’s opinions bother her.
Principal Kopek is a Slytherin (I’m sorry to say, because she brings my entire house to shame and is a perfect example of an evil Slytherin). She is determined to lead the world into something she views as “better” so much that she will completely disregard everything else, and she is proud to be that way because she views what she is doing as something that is necessary. She also seriously threatens to torture people, takes away the medication of a young boy which he needs to cope with his mental illness, and attempts to violently kill Tanda and Tiede, so. That too.
Aadila is my precious baby and she is a Hufflepuff. She is loyal to her family and her faith and thinks about how other people feel before she thinks of how she does. She is perhaps the most peaceful (fictional) person on the planet and would never hurt a soul. She is patient and willing to teach Tanda things she is curious about but doesn’t know. Although she would never hurt anyone, she will do the right thing, but she will make a point to do it in the most gentle way possible.
I was gonna also sort my characters from The System of Sebastian Cole, but I think this is long enough and I wouldn’t know how to sort Sebastian anyway.
Thanks for asking, Meagan! ❤
The Bright Sessions
Ok, I have to know if Samantha Barnes is an active part of The Bright Sessions through all of season 4 and the other show that is related to it? Because I just started season 3 and I have come to the conclusion that I dislike her character so much it is actively ruining the show for me. A yes or no will suffice, I am not here to argue my points.
Hi! I was wondering where you got your TV shows page? I love the theme but when I clicked the credit link it goes to an empty Tumblr. Thanks!
i think they went inactive because their URL had ‘-blog’ at the end, but nonetheless, here is the link to the page :)
10 & 11 for the This or That Asks 😊
10. catchy beat or deep lyrics
it usually depends on the situation but if i’m just listening to music, i like when it means something to me (i say this as i’m listening to wap by cardi b and megan thee stallion)
11. bright colors or pastels
i don’t really like standing out most of the time so...
thank you for sending these :)

Happy STS! Would you even want one of your stories to be adapted? If so, which one and how - a movie? A TV show? Something totally different? - amapofyourstars
@amapofyourstars I’d really, really love to see how DreamWorks handles my ‘verse in an animated series. I think my avian/serpent shipfics--a series of three or four (I forget how many) romances that take place a couple thousand years ago--would make for good TV. They all interweave and connect and I’d love to see how they could be told in episodes that flash between each story, rather than the separate ways they’re written now
