Midge is the only one Tak trusts with medical info and psychological info. Midge saved her from being locked in her own memories - it’s hard not to trust at that point.
Tak did learn some medical info from Midge. Not doctor-level, but maybe paramedic.
Midge is the only one who can keep up with Tak’s drinking. Tak admits much later that she may have modified her PAK slightly to filter the toxins VERY quickly.
Midge is a saint in Tak’s mind. She’s the beacon of light in darkness.

Suddenly, out of thin air almost, glitter rained upon him and covered him from head to toe. There wasn’t an inch left on him that wasn’t glittery, and the irken flattened his antennae in absolute annoyance.
“Trust me, I love being showered in glittery things at raves and stuff. But I JUST cleaned this ship, and I JUST took a shower. Can we not? Like please?”
Iris groaned in exasperation and leaned over his glittery control panel, feeling exasperated. If he didn’t clean this up soon though, Chance was going to walk in and see him being a sparkly mess and he honesty didn’t need that.

1.) When Iris and Addie were kids, Iris was a huge cry baby. In fact, Iris was a cry baby up until the moment his universe got torn apart. It didn’t stop him from being the rebel and future-tallest he was training to be, but it was significant enough that he leaned on those around him heavily for emotional support. One thing that he always admired about Addie is that she’d fall down and skin her knee, or do all sorts of reckless shit, and she still wouldn’t cry. She’d get right back up and keep going. Big teary eyed Iris admired that, wanted to BE that. So when he lost his universe, he vouched he’d be strong for her. He wanted to be there for crying Addie for once, instead of giving her more to stress about. Everytime he’s upset, he thinks back on those moments she held them when they were kids, how she told him that everything was alright and how strong he was.
2.) Iris can never be mad at Addie. He’s tried, and he just can’t. Even if something she did was all her fault or she did something he didn’t like, he’d never EVER blame her for it. He’d lay over a railroad with an oncoming train for her if it meant that she was happy, and yet the boy can’t realize how fuckin in love with her he is. For some dumb reason he has this unhealthy obsession with the thought he’s not strong enough or good enough for her just because he’s got vulnerabilities. The fact he hides these vulnerabilities, though, is the exact reason why he’s fragile and has panic attacks like the one he had in the bathroom when he first met Chance.
3.) The fact that Addie is an engineer makes Iris drop dead with admiration. He’s always loved technology, and he’s a huge videogame nerd, but he can’t for the life of him figure out how to fix a leaking gas tank or even code a low level ship operation. He grew up in an era where he wasn’t forced to learn basic engineering, unlike his parents and their generation where the basics were the least required knowledge. Even table-headed servants knew how to fix a loose bolt or a crashing ship. The fact that Iris grew up with the only task of learning how to diplomat, rebel, and lead meant that he doesn’t know anything at all about any sort of higher-level tech. His knowledge is, at best, Earth-level repairs. So whenever Iris asks Addie for help on something engineering related he can’t help but keep staring in awe at what she’s doing.
4.) Iris found out he was trans at a young age because of a specific set of incidents. He had so many playdates with his best friend as kids, so Iris knew Addie’s family pretty well. Most of the times it was either Midge or both Midge and Dek watching them, but the one time Dek was left in charge, he was dealing with some negotiations at the same time. Iris was so astonished by Dek’s way of handling things that he realized he wanted to grow up to be just as much of a man as he was. While Addie respected and admired Iris’s father, Iris was busy respecting and admiring her father. His goal is to one day be as respectable and admirable as he was, and just as intimidating.

Tak refuses to give Addie any alcohol. For one, she’s not 21. Second, she’s a lightweight. This is all a moot point when Addie can generate her own.
Addie for some reason likes Tak as a family member. This confuses Tak. Likes her? She’s a BITCH!?
There is a point in which Tak realizes that she’s kind of a softie. It’s because of Addie. Tak will never admit it.
Addie is the one who would 100% call Tak out on bullshit.
