Being Reborn is suffering. He'd been expecting a weak civilian child that he would have to train up to snuff, much like Dino, not... whatever the hell Sawada Tsunayoshi is.

So I was talking to @adelmortescryche about how I've recently gotten into the Untamed. And since my mind is mad hellspace, it spawned out this.

This is a transcript of my conversation with her. Morty, my friend, what have I done.

cause im thinking of fic ideas of ichigo being in the untamed world

that is the first sign of madness

because i only put ichigo in fandoms that im really, really into

and here's the best part, the worst part, whatever

i have two running fic ideas and they're both terrible

for my health

idea 1: ichigo comes in like a wrecking ball and basically fucks everyone over and hates the lans (to hell with those guys) and hates meng yao and just, hates everything

cause he'd like to go home, he did not sign up for this shit

or idea 2: ichigo wakes up as a kid after dying, reincarnated, but here's the thing

he's just a street kid at the age of 8 and has no fucking idea where the hell he is

so he books it. he goes fucking feral. he runs to the woods and becomes a woodland creature. he is one with nature.

and he avoids everything. except the nice wen doctor and her brother. he adopts children along the way and takes care of them because of course he does

and he somehow adopts meng yao because meng yao sometimes feeds him, or ichigo feeds him. and he Approves how meng yao takes care of his very nice mother.

and he finds wei wuxian. wei wuxian follows him around ironically like a dog and the jiangs never find him. cause ichigo is too competent and will not lose this child to political bullshit, he will not

when in doubt, run to the woods. follow the ASL brothers route.

and ichigo teaches them how to fight, all of them. ichigo learns how to read and speak chinese cause language barrier. sign language. it only increases his reputation as a child who grew up ferals in the wilderness and beyond

and ichigo is waiting for the day zangetsu appears, he can feel the bastard vibrating in his soul, reaching for his partner in his inner world and finding it murky. typical of the hollow to want to make a dramatic entrance

what if ichigo accidentally creates a new sect without even knowing he's doing it

all these children willing to die for him, wen qing thinking he's a fucking riot and appreciates how ichigo wants to protect his own, and ichigo respects her for how much she wants to protect her very kind sibling that reminds ichigo way too much of yuzu (god he misses her)

wen qing and ichigo helping each other out and ichigo knows her position and offers, hey, if you're ever in trouble, call for me. i'll be there. no conditions, no deals.

and ichigo wins her loyalty right then and there.

she sends info to him where the wens are moving, ichigo saving wens left and right and basically being a Decent Human Being.

he has a reputation now. anyone who are outsiders and need protection, go to kurosaki ichigo, he will help you.

and his sect keeps fucking growing

and by the time he hits 12-13, he's the head of a gang and other sects are beginning to take notice. and the plot thickens and just omg dude why

god what if renji and rukia somehow appear in this world also as children

they were born street rats too, they could be ichigo's seconds. or something. rukia insisting they should be near society. renji is just where the party is at and resigns himself to wherever his friends will take him cause hell if he's getting involved with the decision process

also, it is a given fact that ichigo and nie mingjue gets along like a house on fire. this whole fic idea wouldn't have started without that already established.

and wei wuxian has a crush. ichigo is willing to voodoo doll the two of them and smush their mouths together, or open their mouths so they can fucking communicate omg i hate all of this

Absolutely fascinating bit of character rambling, I have to say. XDD Also, I have never read this kind of crossover and I feel *cheated*. [bumbles off to find said xovers]

Ironically, I massively misread that post originally so have the rec list I dredged out of my memory for it, haha. There’s a lot more on ff.net than ao3, if you’re going digging!

Eliot and Lindsey are twins:

The Soul Job by JediButtercup is probably the quintessential; Eliot asks his team to help him steal back his brother’s soul. Lots of cute banter and brothers being brothers. Also, was a Big Bang fic, and thus illustrated!

Maṭṭaltu by LithiumDoll is a plotty, fun team piece where Eliot and the team are dragged in to fix Lindsey’s mistakes; really cool world-building and magic ideas, and a bit darker than the previous one.

The Faked Death Job by BGeek is a cute piece of Eliot faking his death for a con. Lindsey does Not Take This Well, and Eliot punches Angel in the face.

The McDonald Boys ‘verse by poestheblackcat: “This is a story in which Eliot gets de-aged and kicks Nate in the nads, his twin Lindsey turns up to get him out of trouble but laughs himself sick first, Hardison geeks out, Sophie is bad with children, and Parker is Dorothy.”

poestheblackcat also has other series and some cute one-shots; I like The Other Eliot (Parker grabs An Eliot during an escape) and Old Possum’s Book Of Practical Cats (the team is magically turned into cats, but luckily, someone has a twin who is both magic-friendly and fluent in Cat).

Eliot used to be Lindsey:

In Another Life by angelskuuipo is about that Leverage episode where they need someone to play a lawyer, and Eliot is mad that it’s not him. A cool study of the parallels of each show’s characters.

The Lawyer Equation by txfantasystar is about the episode where they go to court as well, but this time Eliot can’t help himself and Lindsey wins the trial. Shame Lindsey is supposed to be dead...

Let's have some headcanons for an AU where Takeshi's Xanxus' Rain Guardian, while Squalo's Yamamoto Tsuyoshi's gaijin protégé, Blue! *grins*

I had SO much fun with this! *cackles*

1.       Yamamoto is twelve when baseball scouts invite him to an exclusive training camp in Italy. His talent is soon picked up on, and he begs his father to let him stay there. His father, finally seeing some life in his son again after the sudden death of his wife two years ago, agrees to let him go. He calls the Superbi family- a distant family relation through his wife, who let him stay there. That’s the least they could do after Tsuyoshi took in their trouble child Squalo a few years ago.

Yamamoto, however, misses home fiercely. Calling his father two times a week just doesn’t cut it, but calling more would alert him to the fact that something is wrong. And nothing CAN be wrong, because then his father will send him home, and Yamamoto really just needs ONE MORE CHANCE to make that shot! He swears!

…But the shot goes wrong again, and again and again. Eventually, Yamamoto realises it’s not that the shot is going wrong, it’s that the other boys shoot better. He’s been a big fish in a small pond all his life, and suddenly playing in the big league makes him feel inadequate and useless.

His depression begins to get the better of him, and he honestly contemplates ending his life.

Enter Xanxus.

2.       Superbi Squalo. For the sake of this story, a little younger than he is in canon, since the timeline wouldn’t fit at all otherwise. Anyway, Superbi Squalo, nine-years-old, became absolutely obsessed with Vongola’s youngest, Xanxus. It’s a clear sign of extreme flame attraction, and they’re clearly well-suited for each other.

Or at least, they would be, if Xanxus di Vongola wasn’t freaking eight. Far too young for such strong flame attraction. Both are not exactly the picture of mental stability, and their parents fear it will escalate if left alone. They keep the children apart, and Squalo’s parents end up sending him to relatives in Japan in the hope the boy will readjust well there.

Of course, this only makes Squalo more determined to hate this new place they sent him to. He kicks against anything and everything that can be kicked- including his new school. Hibari Kyoya, his fellow pupil in his stupid new class, does NOT take kindly to this. Squalo, of course, is 100% for the ‘’fite me’’ stance and goes ‘’come at me bro’’.

The problem? He’s nine, in a growth spurt, and kind of an idiot for not checking if Hibari had a weapon just because he was a civilian. Those tonfa hurt.

So starts the fight, day in day out, against Hibari Kyoya. Squalo is royally outclassed, but refuses to acknowledge this.

3.       Tsuyoshi gets tired of Squalo coming home with bruises all over his body. He took the kid in because he was a link to his recently deceased wife, and understood that it would take time to adjust. But the normal time for that has long since passed, and the kid is obviously far too busy screaming ‘’IT’S NOT FAIR!’’ at the world one second, and ‘’BITE ME!’’ at the kid living down the street the next.  (if this is what resulted in Hibari Kyoya’s rather strange catchphrase, that boy is not Tsuyoshi’s problem).

He decides to teach the kid how to handle a sword. And to his surprise, the rather gangly ten-year-old takes to it like a fish in the water. Or, well, like a fish with a recent growth spurt, but whatever. The kid’s obviously got talent, and he’s finally talking to Tsuyoshi, so Tsuyoshi is MORE than good.

Squalo still has a hard time connecting with his peers, but his strange rivalry with Hibari Kyoya is almost friendship-like if you go by caveman logic, and Tsuyoshi giving him a goal looks good on him.

He even goes to a couple of Takeshi’s games, even if he claims the brat is way too annoying (he kind of misses him when he moves to Italy, though).

4.       Superbi Nina is kind of worried for her foster son. Unlike her own son, Squalo, neatly squared away in Japan with all his sharp toys if Tsuyoshi’s to be believed, Takeshi took to moving well. On the surface, at least. He has a nasty habit of hiding his depression underneath sunny smiles, to the point where Nina is asking herself which of the two is the real Yamamoto. She begins to look into personality disorders, but it leads to little but confusion.

She usually keeps him carefully separated from the mafia- a request of his father’s- but some things cannot be avoided. This party, for example. Takeshi, fourteen by this point, disappears onto the roof and somehow comes down with the largest real grin she has seen for months, and an arm around a very annoyed looking Xanxus di Vongola.

She has several flashbacks to silver hair and a horrid scowl and a: ‘’I HATE YOU, MAMA!’’ before they dragged him into the aeroplane, but she shakes her head and puts it out of her mind. There is no time for what-ifs. Squalo is not here, he is in Japan, and somehow, Takeshi has become Squalo’s almost-Sky’s rain guardian.

(years, years later, Takeshi tells her there was a suicide attempt and a boy-no-call-me-a-MAN who dared him to live)

5.       However Squalo might deny it, he has a crush the size of a SKYSCRAPER on Kusakabe. Not that he’ll ever tell him.

(if Tsuyoshi finds them necking against the trees behind the dojo, he didn’t see a thing for his sanity’s sake).
