Winter was the worst month in your opinion.

Everything was always cold and wet, like stepping out of a relaxing, steamy, shower into chilly, unwelcoming, hallways. It was uncomfortable; how the chilled air whipped and clung to any semblance of skin it could find.

The freeze was relentless, no matter how hard you try to keep yourself warm, it ignores every plea to let go of of our bodies. its an odd thing, really. Why its so attracted to us. and no one really understands why.

Perhaps the cold was drawn to skin, going after the heat humans provided in order to achieve its goal of infecting everything it touched, tainting any warmth that people desperately grasped at.

Which was why you were cooped up in Ramshackle. Cuddled close into Deuce's chest and wrapped around him like you were his own personal sweater.

Deuce was always the best cuddle buddy. He was muscular, and would squeeze you with just enough pressure to have you giggling around him. He ran warm, especially after you'd give him a quick kiss on the cheek. He fit perfectly behind you, body curving into yours, arms loosely wrapped around your chest. He was perfect, that was for certain.

Meanwhile, in front of you, hogging up the other half of the bed was Ace. He was spread out like a starfish, wearing nothing but a pair of heart patterned boxers. He wasn't even wearing a T-Shirt! Yet he still looked divine, his head turned towards you with his hand resting on his forehead.

You peered up at Deuce. His pretty turquoise eyes were shut, showcasing the almost perfect spade drawn on his face. His hair was splayed across his forehead messily, pink lips slightly opened and pursed.

Your eyes narrowed, offended at the sheer beauty he dare to display in front of you. You were out here freezing your ass off and here he was looking ethereal, not to mention that he was warm as fuck.

With a huff you shifted one of your freezing cold legs to rest in between his warm thighs.

"Oh shit--" His eyes jumped open at the contact, body stiffening like he'd just been turned to stone.

His eyes immediately found your snarky face looking up at him. With a soft sigh he relaxed, pulling you further into him.

"What was that for?" His voice was gruff and slow, with sleep still heavily attached to it.

"Im cold," you stated matter of factly, "It's your job to warm me up."

He only grumbled, shoving his head into your hair. You grinnned. At least he didnt deny his purpose in this world.

Satisfied with Deuce's allowance to warm you, you turned your attention to the oother sleeping boy in front of you. Ace was still shirtless, still warm, and still sleeping soundly. And your other leg was about to freeze off.

You kicked your limb up, placing it on the redheads bare chest.

"Oh what the FUCK?!"

You cackled at the screech that left his lips, watching his body shoot up and his head bump against the headrest. His eyes glared at you like you were scum. "What the hell was that for?!"

"Im cold." You smiled.

You've been Prefect for so long, you quickly realized no one would see you as nothing else but that. It's always 'Hey Prefect!' 'Can you help with me this Prefect?' 'How are you Prefect?' You got used to it faster though, after all, if it's at least Grim and the ghosts who call you by your name that's more than enough for you

The day someone else saw you for something else but the oh so attentive Prefect you always were, and those, were your first friends

But at first, they were the same as others : when you stepped on those rusty stairs of the Ramshackle dorm in the warm morning, you always heard the same thing : “Mornin' Prefect!” and it had been like that for a long while, the name that was bestowed upon you was the only thing that came out of their mouths ; Until it wasn't

You don't remember when it started, sometime perhaps after a short while of the second overblot happening maybe. You took that a little harder than Riddle's ( speaking of which, who was attentive to you and looked out for you to be in your best health ) and had gained a scar thanks to Leona's powerful unique magic. You had forgave him though, ( as much as you could ) that's what you always did, forgive and forget, after all, even Crowley said so himself 'It is better that way! Holding grudges does nothing to satisfy you!' so he said

One night, you were sitting with the two in the living room of the dorm, Grim snoozing away on the couch you were all sitting in front of, in a warm makeshift tent, with pillows, lights and whatever else you could find around. Nothing could be heard in the room except the laughs and chatting of the three of you. Ace and Deuce were having a blast, you were tired, but you never let it show, after all, this time was precious for all of you, you were friends were you not? that's what you think after all, even if it might not be true. Their voices started getting muffled and your vision got blurry, were you falling asleep or simply just passing out from exhaustion? You didn't know, maybe these two overblots really did leave a mark that went deeper than you thought

It was when you heard a voice did you snap out of it, a call, something you never thought you'd hear while in this unknown world “Hey, Y/N you okay? You seem out of it” A warm hand on your shoulder “If you want to sleep we don't blame you, after all there's no way these overblots didn't leave a mark. We'll be quiet, promise” It took you a few seconds to register the words, and after you did it was the first time you felt it “Hey!-wh- why are you crying!? Did we say something wrong?!” Deuce was the first one to react, a funny reaction, you'd laugh if you could, Ace was second, as he shifted over to you and patted you on your back“Hey Y/N it's okay, we understand, we got you, you can let it out” Again that damned name of yours, did they really saw you as something else but the Prefect who cleans up after everything and everyone? Were they true friends? Will they stay?

And after you felt their warm bodies close to yours, hugging you tight, you realized that yes, they will stay, you know they will

​Ace Trappola knew very well that this isn't some sort of a joke nor a prank, though he wished it was. He's in love, and to make matters worse—he's in love with you, his friend; the well-known, ordinary, and magicless prefect recognized for their heroic act of saving the college and its students from multiple overblot incidents.

Sure, that's probably one reason of why he looks up to you, probably reasonable enough to grow a teensy tiny crush on you but that's just about it. Aside from that, you're just a plain-looking student, oddly unique from everyone else for being simple.

Believe it or not, he's a charmer, and a flirt, and it was never in a serious way, not like this. I mean, he's dated someone before, but that's just about the experience he had when it comes to relationships and dating. Putting that aside, he's got nothing but his confidence and his pride.

He swore it was just a crush before, when did it start crawling back again but this time, it's much more stronger?

He can't blame you though, you've almost had everyone grow fond of you. You were an irresistible pull in some way, it's mysterious and he's one of those people who blindly fell for you.

Slowly, he became more aware of his actions, specifically around you.

He stopped causing a ruckus all over, even Grim was shocked.

He started paying attention to class. No matter how boring it gets, he'd just remember your words of encouragement.

"I know you're smart, Ace. You just need to focus!"

And that was enough to get him going.

He became less and less of an airhead, and that's because of you.

Sometimes, he's thankful you're oblivious enough not to notice his feelings for you, atleast he can still be the typical Ace Trappola from Heartslabyul whose carefree nature somehow managed to make you laugh and smile.

Still, his heart just wishes you'll notice the hints, the efforts, the courage and confidence he needs every day. It's kind of a desperate act but you'll see just how much he longs to atleast have the chance to hold your hand, any physical contact, as well as spending time with just you and him and nobody else (not even Grim or Deuce).

Deep down, he just wants you to see, to hear, and to feel. Not now, but maybe soon. Maybe he'll finally stop the cowardly act and face the truth: he loves you and he's willing to do whatever it takes for you to notice it.

So after hearing from Grim that Deuce obviously has a crush on you, not to mention obvious enough for Grim to see and nothing about his, his jaw tensed.

It's a love triangle.

"Since when did you start liking them?"

"W-what are you talking about, Ace?"

Deuce Spade promised himself it will only stay as just a small admiration, nothing more, nothing less. After all, he's never actually liked someone before so he never knew what it truly feels like to have one. He finds you cool and a very reliable and good friend, it's only supposed to be like that.

When he starts enjoying your time with him more than before, when he couldn't even sleep with how he's looking forward to see you the next day, that's when reality finally hits him. He finds himself thinking about you more than he used to, and he gets embarrassingly red and nervous whenever you're dangerously close to him.

That's when he knew he fucked up. That's when he learned it'd be harder for him to ignore it nor avoid it, now that it's too late for that.

He's never really got the chance nor the time for love before, he's actually got zero percent experience, even way below Ace's rank. But that's just the only thing Ace could ever get above him.

He believes he's completely more attentive and gentle compared to the dumb ginger-head.

He's reminded by the day you said you never liked violence, and ever since then, that was the reason he stopped getting into fights.

Back then, he'll completely crack a knuckle and swing his fist on whoever dares to piss him off.

But now, whenever heated arguments get intense, he'll spit out a few words and that's it. He chose to control his temper, just so you'd stop worrying too much about him. He feels so special when you do that, he thinks that someday somehow,

he could be a special person to you too, more special than anyone else.

Deuce is cool and tough,

But he's a complete loser when it comes to you.

He fears the thought that it could ruin the friendship he holds very dearly in his heart. In no way he'll let his feelings get the best of him and lose you.

But the more he reaches closer, way closer to your heart, his mind would pull him back. Driven by guilt and conscience, he doesn't want to ruin everything. He doesn't want to add more problems and burdens to you. After all, you're someone who doesn't belong into their world, he knows you're far more focused on coming back home rather than experiencing a stupid thing called "love"

But sometimes, there are some moments where he just can't help it, the feeling of being close to you, the feeling of imagining you and him together not as friends but as a couple..

It make him feel selfish.

Would you hate him if he loves you? More than a best friend should?

You're his motivation, his inspiration, the one that believes he can get high grades, high scores, higher ranks on exams. You're the reason he started studying harder, acting like a role model for other first-years, just like he dreams to be the first time he set foot on the college.

And now he's cornered, his heart hammering as he freezes on the spot. Was it that obvious? Did his actions gave everything away?

One Braincell Duo ( Ace Trappola & Deuce Spade )

"That's kinda gay," Ace says and you cannot contain the look of utter disbelief you give him.

"You're literally in a relationship with another man."

"And you, so it cancels out," He says and has the audacity to cross his arms across his chest. You stare at him for a moment as you, out of love for him, try to make sense of the bullshit spewing from his mouth — turning to Deuce when you're inevitably unable to.

He sits with a chunky textbook spread across his lap, a look of beet red surprise powdering his face in a gorgeous natural blush. He stares at you as if you had just dropkicked a band of delinquents right before his eyes.

"Don't tell me you agree with this idiot," You say, voice already beginning to drip with your growing disappointment in them.

"No.." Deuce begins almost cautiously as Ace shoots you an offended look, "..but I... Wh- What even brought this on in the first place?"

You shrug, laying your chin atop the pillow wrapped in your grasp as your gaze shifts downwards to the book before you — the one you haven't paid mind to since you first opened it, "It just....popped in my head randomly.. I'd say around the time Ace twisted his ankle real' bad and you were whispering in his ear while we walked him to the infirmary? It's not often I get to see you two like that so I guess it...gave me ideas.."

"Ahh, I get it now..." Ace mumbled as he nods along to your words, "You're a pervert."

You throw the pillow in your arms square at his face, a deep frown making its way across yours as you yell, "Shut up! Who asked you anyway?!"

Ace's smug laughter fills the air. You, now fuming and hot with embarrassed fury and wishing for nothing more than to smother yourself, open your mouth with the intent of changing the subject entirely when Deuce speaks first.

"If you're seriously asking... I- I could..." He mutters as he looked away from you and Ace's general direction. His hand coming up to scratch at his nape as if he were trying to peel off the layer of skin there that's been dyed pink by your confession. He could feel all eyes on him now so, without looking back, he awkwardly continues.

"I wouldn't mind it — I mean it wouldn't be that weird, right? After all, we're all....technically together and couples kiss all the time s- so—"

"—So you actually wanna kiss me...?" Ace pops the question, giving Deuce the push he needs to swing his head back around to look at him.

Ace wears a furrowed look that's slightly off from his typical look of irritation with the spark of shock etched in there. It's an expression Deuce hasn't seen enough to properly discern and a part of him internally panics at the sight of it, causing him to stammer out his next words.

"Its—! It's not like that!" He exclaims causing Ace's expression to shift slightly with displeasement.

"So you...don't wanna kiss me then?" He questions slowly.

"No! I- I mean, yes I do! ...W- Wait, but not like that I- I..." Deuce stutters nervously, feeling unsure as he searches for the right answer that wouldn't piss off his boyfriend in your eyes and falling in flustered, distressed silence when he's unable to find one. Ace sighs, rolling his eyes.

"Get on with it.." He finally says, gesturing him closer.

"What — really?!" Deuce throws out, eyes widening with surprise like some bunny rabbit who just got offered a carrot. The look goes straight through you and, from the looks of it, tugs at Ace's own heartstrings a little with the way his face flushes a cherry red.

"Urk-! Don't make a big deal out of it! Just...c'mere.." He snaps, but the way he reaches over to yank at the male's wrist and readily pulls him in to capture his lips gives away the eagerness that had been lurking underneath his show of judgement all along.

When they part from each other, slightly breathless, Ace looks over at you — who wears a pleased, knowing look on your face. He smiles and scoffs, allowing himself to be tugged back in by Deuce as he mutters under his breath, smiling, "Perv'.."

The moment the question leaves your lips, Riddle's choking on his tea.

Epel jumps up from his chair and is by his boyfriend's side in less than a second, firmly patting his back to better help him expel the tea stuck in his windpipe as the redhead's teacup goes clattering down onto a small, matching plate.

"Now what 'n tarnation gave you an idea like that?!" Epel exclaimed, his surprise ripping open a hole big enough to allow his thick accent to escape into his words.

"Don't act like I told you to take your own head or something!" You huffed, your cheeks warming with your growing embarrassment, "..And do I really need a reason to want my boyfriends to show a little affection towards one another?! I mean, it's not like I proposed the two of you make out or something...if you aren't up for that yet."

Epel's look borders judgement now. You sigh.

"Look it was just food for thought, okay?" You mumble, "We're all into each other, but you two rarely ever show your interest in one another and I can tell you want to so I thought a kiss could be a good way of finally breaking the ice.."

"We show plenty enough interest in one another on these weekly dates..." Riddle begins, now fully recovered from your unintentional attempt on his life, "Furthermore, we haven't properly stepped out of the beginning stages of our relationship and kissing at this point in time would be inopportune to say the least—"

"—But Epel has kissed me plenty of times and none of those times felt very 'inopportune'," You retort. Riddle pauses for a moment, whipping his head over to look at the purple-haired boy beside him the next, "What?"

Although less graceful with his indignation, Riddle wears his coat of shock similarly to how Vil fashions his shawl of fury at times and it makes it hard for Epel to tell the two apart. He grows tense under his gaze and, like he would whenever he'd get into it with his housewarden, goes on the defensive.

"How was I supposed ta' know there were steps to this?! I just did what felt right at tha' time!" He says, his expression hardening as he adds, "It ain't a crime to wanna kiss my frickin' partner!"

And to his surprise, Riddle doesn't chew him out or reprimand him and blow this out of proportion like he expected him to. Instead, he watches as his words settle into him slowly and an unknown realization hit him, causing his shoulders to dip and his expression to sour into a pensive one.

"Th- That's not true!" Epel butts in as he forced himself back into his 'proper' way of speaking, "Just because we ain't lockin lips— I- I mean, kissing...doesn't mean anything!"

And upon realizing what's happening, you add, "Yeah! Like I said, it was just a personal suggestion of mine to take when you feel ready! Just because me and Epel have done it, doesn't mean you have to feel pressured to do the same."

"I know that," Riddle reaffirms, "I know...but I've only taken to this pace because I assumed it was the rule of thumb that needed to be abided. I would've been less uptight otherwise."

"Uptight is fine!" You push, "There's nothing wrong with taking things slow if that's what makes you feel comfortable — er, look, just forget I said anything about this, alright? Let's just continue the tea party." And continue you inevitably did albeit with great hesitance from Riddle.

Days passed like the wind, leaving the conversation a slight blur in the minds and hearts of you and Epel. Riddle never let it go, instead allowing it to simmer at the back of his brain until your next date — which spurred him to pop the fated question towards the end of it..in his own way, "It's been long enough now and I think I'm ready to take the next step with you — both of you. I'd...like to kiss you two if you'd be fine with that."

He didn't technically kiss Epel as Epel moreso kissed him ( something about manliness and whatnot ) but it didn't ruin the experience for him. In fact, the tiny, pleased smile that clung to Riddle's face when they parted told you of how enjoyable of an experience it truly was for him.

( You're unsure whether or not doing this helped them become more comfortable with showing affection towards one another, but at the very least you're satisfied in knowing how much they enjoy doing so and how damn good they look doing it )

Could I request Ace and Deuce (poly if you can, separate if you can't :3) with a reader who is like very stoic and kinda scary and isn't good with words but is completely casual with physical affection whether in public or private. Not embarrassed about kissing them, holding their hands, asking to cuddle, etc. So what if people judge, what are they gonna do about it.

Ace Trappola

After realizing you're an affectionate person with a scary face Ace got a kick out of it.

Here you were looking like you were angry with the world, with your arms over his shoulders from behind.

Ace LOVES the affection.

I see Ace as an affectionate guy as well in the touch department.

Yeah he talks, a lot, but even with you being quiet he oddly doesn't feel like he's being ignored or annoying

Especially not when you're holding his hand when he talks and complains

I can't see Ace being pretty okay with PDA as long as Riddle wasn't there to tell him off for it

If you're hanging off of him then he's doing the same to you

It's practically expected now that you two are almost always touching in some way.

Holding hands, linked fingers, leaning on the other, it's become a staple in your guys relationship.

I can see people asking Ace why the scary student of all people.

And Ace just proudly asks for a kiss and watches who ever asked get even more confused.

He loves showing off the fact he has both scary dog privileges as well as cuddle bug privileges.

Ace is a sucker for kisses. Lips, cheeks, forehead.

Any way he's eating that shit UP.

He also is a fan of cuddles. And during cuddles he's oddly quiet.

Something about being so safe and warm makes Aces brain turn to mush for an hour or two and forget about the world for a bit.

You wouldn't mind being his alibi if he showed up late for another class right?

Especially if it meant a few extra minutes or hours with you.

Deuce Spade

Deuce is kind of shocked by the fact you're so.. lovey.

Sure he knew you weren't actually mean or scary. You just looked intimidating.

But when you just gave him a good morning in class and gave him a kiss for the first time, he kind of had to rethink everything.

It takes Deuce a bit of time to get used to it, he's not as much for PDA as Ace is.

He gets embarrassed more easily with public affection so he may ask you to turn it down just a bit.

That doesn't mean he won't be affectionate back in public.

Most commonly will be holding hands under desks and between classes.

Or him leaning on you when he's being bored to death in Treins' class.

He finds the difference between how you present and how you act a bit jarring.

You looked intimidating when you and Deuce first met, now here you were acting like a clingy puppy dog.

Once Deuce gets more used to the contrast he almost forgets the irony of it all.

Unlike Ace who is fully aware of the contradicting looks and actions. Deuce gets to a point to where it's his normal.

So he gets a tad bit confused when someone looks shocked at you being affectionate.

Deuce would like PDA at times yes, but he prefers affection behind closed doors.

He's not embarrassed by you, he's embarrassed because of you, big difference.

If Deuce had to pick a favorite form of affection from you it would be holding your hand, or linking fingers.

Call him childish, but it helps him feel connected to you.

He doesn't like using your intimidating self as a scare, since he doesn't really see you as scary anymore.

All he can see when he looks at you now is his very affectionate lover who probably wouldn't hurt a fly except to save a life.

Ace Trappola and Deuce Spade

I imagine at the start of the relationship they would know you weren't a words kind of person.

After all there's enough trust between the three of you to be in a relationship, so assume there's a lot of understanding there as well.

I feel like Ace at least isn't the sappiest in the words department either. Not to say he isn't going to place a sweet word or two.

Out of the three of you Deuce is the sap with words, which says a lot since Deuce is a bit awkward with words.

But you can rely on the fact any words he says, even with stutters or long pauses are as truthful as they can be.

As for physical touch Ace takes the cake there for being more clingy.

But I don't think it's to the extent of how casual your affection is...

The three of you aren't very secretive as to the nature of your relationship.

As long as the three of you are happy you couldn't care less what some nameless student has to say.

And Ace loves the fact that you're so casual in loving both him and Deuce in public.

If you get into a routine, say kisses before class, Ace will hold Deuce by the arm and stand in front of you expectantly until you give them both kisses.

Deuce is a lot more shy, in comparison to Ace at least.

He's still getting used to the idea of two people loving him, and having both of those partners being affectionate people? Fear he may be down for the count.

But even if he gets flustered he also is a sucker for the affection.

He won't ask like Ace will, but he will glace at you as if waiting for your usual affection.

Aces favorite affection you give is a tie between cuddles and kisses.

Kisses are easy and can be given both in and out of the public eye, and it makes his heart skip a beat when you surprise him with a kiss.

Cuddles because it's more private and, in his eyes, more intimate.

Just cuddled up with his two favorite people in bed...

Makes him want to sleep in more than he already does in the morning.

For deuce he really likes holding hands and leaning on each other.

Hand holding is something innocent but helps him feel connected to you.

Having you lean on him, or him leaning on you during class just makes the day better.

It's a way to recharge without needing to go to the dorms and lay in his bed.

Ace finds it hilarious whenever someone sees the "scary" student being an affectionate fool to either of his partners.

The humor is a little lost on Deuce , but he cares more about the fact he's receiving the affection instead of others reactions to the affection.

There's very little jealousy since you're so affectionate neither of them feel like the other gets more love.

Besides their preferences work out.

Ace is more than fine with PDA, while Deuce might want to keep it a little more quiet unless at the dorms.

Though holding hands as a trio or random breaks in the court yard where the three of you are just a pile of body and tired voices.

No one is left out or sold short on love between the three of you.
