Welcome to the day I decided you were the one. Lips brushing as rain drew patterns on old windowpanes. The day the stars fell into step with the jazz beats of our hearts, As though they too swayed to Miles Davis on moonlit wooden floors. You were unlike any other jazz tune that my ears found solace to. (more…)

Cold coffee. Warm rain. Lukewarm dreams. Clear blue kisses. Somber sleepers on green grass. A thousand rays of hopeful possibilities on cocoa skin.
Chocolate colored love on the backdrop of Mother Earth. Multiple curious footsteps on barren pavements. Disillusioned writers penning poems of blind journeys through life’s mysteries. Forced smiles on facial features of fatigued friends. Confused…

Adhiambo
He is an odd one, that human, though I am not displeased with his vision of me. T’will be quite intriguing to see where his digital adventures will guide me, and how much he can keep up with the ways of my people.
I will not hold back, and I will destroy everyone who stands in my way.
The daydwellers will pay for what they have done.
Behind the Name
ADHIAMBO.
African.
The feminine form of Odhiambo (q.v.), said to mean "born in the evening." It appears to be related to the Swahili word jambo, a common form of greeting.
(Swahili-English Dictionary, Madan, 1903). Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor, a Kenyan writer. (Wiki)
Other sources report it as Luo of Kenya name for females born after sunset.
Shadowed
He watched the hunter with eager, pale blue eyes, his white hair hidden in the shadows as he had been taught. ‘Observe her, learn from her, and you will know the blessings of our God, the Moon.’ The head of the tribe had made his point clear, but there was so much more to it than just a routine exorcise. He was of the right age -- he knew that -- to take up a weapon of his own and form his own legacy within the darkness, but there had been talk among the gatherers... Unpleasant talk of the daydwellers overstepping their boundaries and claiming lands that was not theirs to begin with. War was stirring in the night mist, the earth’s fresh waters had been tainted with blood of fallen warriors that had been slaughtered in their sleep.
He turned his attention back to the situation, watching Adhiambo’s hardened face as she searched the surroundings for a prey, her blueish black hair only hidden by the black hood that covered her head.
That was their way; merging with the shadows and being invisible, surprising their enemies with an ambush rather than being ambushed themselves. The power to become one with the darkness came much later, once they had been approved by the God as a hunter for their tribe.
The moon was high in the sky, no clouds hiding its brilliance as it cast a betraying light on a nearby animal, a stray boar from the forest that harbored the nearest tribe of daydwellers. A grin slipped across Adhiambo’s face as she licked her pale lips -- undoubtedly from the thrill of taking something from the tribe that had recently taken something from them. Silent and slowly, she moved from her spot behind the darkened rock, her clothing embracing her body like a blanket wrapped around her, making her way up to the beast with a gentle grace that made anyone feel as though they were safe.
The kill was swift and clean, as it always was. She slit the boar’s throat while staring into its unsuspecting eyes, and carried the spoils back to the young hunter she had with her. “Your turn,” she spoke, and he found himself frightened and nervous.
