DIN doesn’t hesitate. as soon as he finds a shot to take that won’t hurt the kid, finger tightens around the blaster trigger and as the man drops, he swoops in to catch grogu. the coward had tried to use the little one as a HOSTAGE to keep the mandalorian from shooting him (on din’s OWN SHIP, no less) - the downside to bringing grogu everywhere, din thinks, is that his WEAKNESS is easily spotted. there’s no hiding those EARS. what the quarries have yet to understand, it seems, is that there’s NOTHING din won’t do to keep the boy safe. “ it’s OKAY, ad’ika, ” he says softly, clutching the tiny thing to his chestplate, “ morut’yc. ” SAFE. he holsters his blaster with one hand and seats himself on a crate, carefully shifting the kid to his lap. “ are you hurt? ”   @adika​

“ WHERE are you, you little womp rat? ” he climbs down the ladder from the cockpit and looks around the SUSPICIOUSLY silent hull before blowing out a sigh. “ i’m not playing HIDE AND SEEK, grogu, ” they’ll be needing to take off soon, and he’s not leaving until he knows the kid is strapped safely into the jump seat behind him in the cockpit. he looks around a moment longer before he zeroes in on the bunk, pushing the button to slide the panel door open. a low laugh rumbles in din’s chest as he regards the little green bundle staring up at him. “ are you STUCK? how long have you been in there? ”   @adika
