One exhibiton that I went to this year is the “Adjacent Realities” exhibitions held at the Austrian embassy in London. Artist Catharina Bond has invited several artists working both in Austria and the UK to interpret and reflect upon the word “real”. Personally I think that several of the artwork presented to the audience in this exhibition is a little bit misleading because I personally can’t see anything real in them, but in a couple of them I can see the word ‘real’. Especially in the pictures of the two different rooms, the pink and the blue one, where I think it looks like a room which someone has created to represent themselves. In the picture of the ribbed chicken as well, because I believe that unfortunately many people think this is the way chickens are born; just born ribbed to be eaten. The large wall picture of the two hands also resembles Michelangelo’s “creation” painting. Overall it was an enjoyable exhibitions, it was clean, quiet and the creations were all very well done.
