not going to pretend

Hey, you.

In high school one of my friends always used to complain I would walk everywhere too fast. L would call it “walking with purpose” - at least, that’s what she calls what the people on the West Wing do, their walk-and-talks. I still do walk pretty quickly. Might be surprising to people, I guess, with my body type, but I like the efficiency.

Because I walk fast, with purpose, but I’ll walk slowly for people who are worth ambling for. I promise I’ll walk slowly for you. If I do, it means something. And last night, I walked slowly for him. 

I just want you to know this in case you’re him, which you’re probably not, because he’s - well, I used this phrase in a story recently, but no one will ever see this, so who cares - fucking light-years out of my league. Maybe someday I’ll find out. Probably not.
