I was bored so I tried making a book cover for @livlepretre's Fairytale Ending. It's one of, if not the greatest fic I've ever read in my entire life.

AU post 3x05, The Reckoning. Klaus takes his girl and his hybrid and gets out of that one pony town. But what will Elena do when she realizes Klaus wants her for more than just her blood? A slowburn Klaus/Elena, also featuring Stefan/Elena, Stefan/Rebekah, and more.

Klaus and his witch begin the ritual. 

He first kills his werewolf, and by the time he gets to his vampire, Elena is awake and realizes with horror that it’s her Aunt Jenna who Klaus has made into a vampire. He kills her quickly before bringing Elena to him.

He drains her completely and examines her coldly after while he relishes his new power as the Original Hybrid.

Elijah introduces himself and explains why he has come. Word has reached his brother about Elena’s existence and what that means for her and likely her family. Katherine shows up as well as the Salvatore brother’s to find out what an Original would want with Elena.

Things go south fast and Elena and Katherine have another fight. Elijah leaves them with a warning about his brother.

Stefan decides it’s not safe for Elena to be away from him and has her move in to the boarding house. The two have some special time together before wearing themselves out.

Damon drinks downstairs trying to ignore the noises from upstairs.

Stefan finds out what Katherine has done and the two have a vampire spar outside the Salvatore home. Stefan wins this fight.

Meanwhile, Elena is determined to have a normal holiday meal with her family and friends while also spending time with her brother.

Everything seems to be going well until a mysterious original shows up.

Elena meets Damon finally. He is enthralled by her and jealous of Stefan and their relationship.

Meanwhile someone with a familiar face has blown back into town. Katherine confronts Stefan about Elena and he tells her to stay out of it. Damon doesn’t know it’s Katherine and kisses her believing she is actually Elena. 

While that’s going on at the Salvatore house, Stefan and Elena remain oblivious to Katherine’s schemes as the enjoy a romantic evening.

It’s not long before the threat Elijah warned everyone about shows up. 

Klaus heads to the Salvatore House and instantly puts Damon into a vampiric slumber. He enters the home and Stefan attempts to keep him from Elena. Klaus compels him with ease and is able to take Elena with him to the closest ruins.

Klaus has his witch, his werewolf, his vampire, and his doppelganger ready for the ritual.
