Journal entry 19: Summonings

"Kirigakure is home to an array of summoning animals that are extremely useful in any water related environment. However, most of these animals are aquatic in nature and often use mobile water prison jutsus to transport them....so I've come up with a solution...sea lions. Highly trainable, loyal and a rather surprising alternative to my stray summoning dogs. Since people often have a hard time trusting my loyal strays, they're going to have the next best thing. I've trained mine to be extremely picky eaters so that if someone wants the message, they'll have to feed them the right fish. Yagura has had several conversations with me about the sea lion's behavior with him, he claims they keep sniffing him and staring at him. It likely has something to do with the tailed beast within him, however, some of our scouts may have....other theories."

"I got reason to believe the suicide rate in Kiri is higher than you think it is. When I was still a chuunin, I had this friend - I'm keeping his name safe, for honor's sake, but we took this mission...well, I think the report's still classified. After that, he got real quiet. Didn't sleep. And one day, he was just. Gone. Found his body under the pier, two days later. Think he wanted to be found. There's the honor suicides, yeah, but you ever known someone who just...disappeared?"

*lets out a sigh*

“…I did had someone who “disappeared”….but I’m sure till this day it was not suicide….it was my mother, a woman who had so much life and hope in heart that not even the darkest mist could snuff out…it explains my bizarre optimism….I was still at academy age when she was found dead in our home….the thing is that when the jonin found her, they told me that it was suicide because she poisoned herself….they never explained to me why her eyes were removed…they must have done that themselves….even so I not sure why.“

*places hand on her mask were her left eye is*

"Remembering how that same year I lost my eye to a student at the academy…..the student I fought against called me a "foreign pest”…now that I’m older, I can assume my mother didn’t kill herself but she was killed….for other reasons…the major loss is that she never told me about our family’s past…maybe our eyes hold a clue?“
