“a few days ago, a close friend of mine and a shining member of the LGBT community at my school killed herself by jumping in front of a train. her name was alejandra agredo. we're all in a state of shock, especially us in the Gay-Straight Alliance. she was trans and unafraid to use her social media platforms to spread a message of community togetherness and acceptance. the fact that she died by jumping in front of a train was a morbid and ironic death, considering she was a big advocate of public transportation here in miami. she even created a non-profit organization that would've helped make public transportation more affordable and available to everyone.
here's some articles about what happened:

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100212746281
and here is the gofundme, set up by her grieving dad, for her non-profit organization that she would have loved to see kick off the ground if she were still here today: https://www.gofundme.com/f/alejandra-agredo-miami-riders-alliance?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet
if you could signal boost this, it would mean so much to her friends and her family. she was strong, trans, and dreamed big, and i hope now that her big dream can come true with this fundraiser, even if she isn't around to see it come true anymore.”
