What is Oikawa and Iwaizumi hit off because Iwaizumi was respectful and said that the milk bread offered to him was delicious- or was there an official statement of how they met-

Sorry if you had to wait for this answer, but as Geo stated before our summer is incredibly busy this year!

Anyway, if you mean how Iwaizumi and Oikawa became friends canonly… We don’t really have any hint about it.We know they’ve been childhood friends all along, but Furudate has yet to say how they became friends.Maybe we’ll discover it in the next Seijoh OVA coming out this year? Who knows?

By the way, when they first appeared Kageyama explained that Iwaizumi and Oikawa had played volleyball together since middle school (they went all to Kitagawa Daiichi together, so he has witnessed this by himself).

Then we have some official art that portrays Iwa and Oikawa playing together as children. 

We don’t have indication about ages and so, but I guess they are in elementary school there? Probably in the same school?Again, we don’t know.

Then I found I this picture but I honestly can’t remember if this is official art or not?

Maybe it’s not, but… Everything that has been hinted in manga\anime indicates they probably live near each other.(Again, take this as what it is: hypothesis)

So, we have very little to work on, but fandom is a wonderful place and the majority of it has unanimously accepted Oikawa and Iwaizumi have been childhood friends all along, because:

- their mothers or their families have been friends before they were born- their moms used to take them to the same park\kindergarden- both of them

Honestly, I like the headcanon in which they’ve been friends for all their life because their moms\families were friends. 

Their relationship is so strong, they’re so attuned to each and sometimes they seem to anticipate each other thoughts or actions: this is the kind of relationship that requires a lot of time to build, and those kind of manners… they’re more often than not found between brothers or people that have lived all their lives together.

I’ve this kind of relationship with a dear friend of mine, so I’m mostly talking out of experience here, but it’s really hard to find the level of thrust and harmony with friends you’ve just met.

Like every kind of relationship, it requires time: to build a strong one, you need a lot of time, so I imagine their friendship has developped for the entirety of their lives.

Being respectful, thrusting each other, accepting everything from each other and also being strong enough to reprimand the other when they’re doing something wrong for themselves… those are just a few of the most evident traits of Oikawa and Iwaizumi’s friendship, but I think they needed a lot of time to come to the point we see them in manga\anime.

That’s why I agree with them being friends for all their lives. And also, that’s the kind of relationship you can’t just throw away at some point of your life: it will always be there with you, one way or another.I wish anyone could have this kind of relationship.

Build a Temple in Me by Authoress - 39k words, rated T, Completed: pairings: iwaoi

This is gold. It’s a japanese folklore au, covered in Studio Ghibli wonder and lots of young Iwaizumi and Oikawa. I really loved everything about this fic. The characters are perfectly depicted, the story gets you hooked from the very start and don’t get me started on the ambience descriptions! I could feel the humid mountain air of a forest while reading this! Just let yourself be swept away by this wonderful au!

Wreck a Temple, Forge a Promise by Authoress - 16k words, rated E, Completed, pairings: iwaoi, sidepairing: kyohaba, warning: smut! Like, quality smut!

This is the companion piece of “Build a Temple in Me” and it’s as good as the first one, but now Tooru and Hajime have fully grown up, figured things out, and are thinking about serious things together… if you know what I mean. Also, have you ever wondered who Tooru’s parents are in this au? You’re about to find out and it’s absolutely worth it! And I promise you’ll melt at the end. I did.

The Coolest Cake by Finding Schmomo - 8k words, rated T, Completed, pairings: iwaoi, matsuhana

Okay. Let’s take some Seijoh third years interactions, shake it up with some sugar, spice and everything nice, and you’ll have this super fluffy fic, full of Matsuhana’s shenanigans while they try to understand their feelings for each other, and some Iwaoi love that will make you melt and wish you have an Iwaizumi or Oikawa too. I really wish I’d have them. If you need something to help you smile, this is it!

I’m just really a sucker for all the Half-Filipino Iwa fics. I don’t know from where this headcanon came from, but bless who came up with it! I also really appreciate the pure, sheer, love it comes out from this fic, from Iwaizumi and his family, and from Iwaizumi showing Oikawa this precious part of his self that it’s his half-Filipino heritage. I really really love this.

I guess you can easily tell I love iwaoi as pairing. I won’t even try to deny it. I just really love their interactions. But you know what’s better than iwaoi being iwaoi? Iwaoi in that confused stage between being a couple and realising feelings for each other! Just throw in the mix some uncle Tooru with Takeru, and you’ll have a very entertaining reading for the next hour!

It’s not always Iwaoi, i’m gonna demonstrate this with this wonderful, fluffy and smutty fic! We know our lovely Kageyama and Hinata don’t usually shine for their insight but here? Oh, man, you are in for some quality dumbness! Just, let’s try to imagine what would happen if Kageyama had to pretend to be Hinata’s boyfriend as a favour. Here. We. Go!

Let’s just fall together down the rabbit hole that are kagehinayachi fics, and figure together with them how to get around a poly relationship. It’s good! It’s really good. They actually have problems, that are not always solved but they are in this together…UGH! This gives me so many feelings! Just go read it!

This should be written!I’d read this right away!

Actually, this has the potential to be the cutest thing ever cause I can just imagine Oikawa trying his best to sign things to talk with Hajime, but sometimes he messes up because he’s still learning and instead of signing something like “Iwa-chan! There’s the new Godzilla film subtitled!”, he signs “Iwa-chan, you have really cute ears, like strawberries”. I can see Iwaizumi surprised stare while his cheeks turn an absurd red and proceed to hit Oikawa on the head, while the other is confused for he can’t understand what he said wrong. They’d be so cute!And Oikawa always going out of his way to find things to do they can both enjoy and not make Iwa feel left out, such as subtitled projections of new movies, for example.And also Iwa correcting patiently Oikawa’s signing, helping him to get every message clearly and correctly, and Oikawa being very flustered whenever Iwaizumi keeps his hands in his own for a while to direct them.

Haikyuu!! Fic Recs

No one asked for this, but I’ve been slouching for a while and wanted to be forgiven by actually doing a little bit of haikyuu-related work. I periodically go back reading this cause it’s so perfect! A Single Dad Au in which Kuroo, Bokuto, Daichi and Oikawa have to deals with all the joys and problems (lots of problems really!) that comes with a single-parenthood.

Top best ingredients here! Figure skater Akaashi, deals with some family drama, an obnoxious and buff hockey player Bokuto, babysit his adorable nephew Shouyou and other things I don’t want to spoil. ~ One of my favourites, definitely. And I don’t know if it could be triggering to you, but better safe than sorry, there’s some homophobia here from some characters. And some well written smut. Also,it’s part of a series, and that’s always a plus to me!

Of Monsters and Men by shions_heart -220k words, rated M, Completed, pairings: iwaoi, kuroken, bokuaka, and lots of other side pairings, which includes some queerplatonic bokuakakuroken (SCREAMING HERE)

Settled in a Demons/Magic/Faeries Au, Oikawa, an half-demon goes to Aoba Johsai’s School for Hunters with his best friend Iwa-chan. Shit happens here and there, and suddenly the world is on the verge of falling in the hands of the Demon King himself. A really good fic with drama, lots of blood, magic, and great setting. I really thrive on some quality AUs. trigger warnings: temporary character death, some smut.

We call her Harley Queen by Smokey310 - 8k words, rated T, Completed, pairings: kurotsukki, side kagehina, yamayachi, and bokuaka

When I read this fic I started wheezing on the bus cause I was laughing too much. This whole series had me laughing for days,really. It’s one of the best thing I’ve ever read! It has everything I could ask for: lots of jokes, embarrassing situations, dorks being dorks, and a bird mating call that is “shit shit shit shit”. Also,part of a series, so kudos!

Daredevil on a slope by Smokey 310- 124k words, rated M, Completed, pairings: kurotsukki, bokuaka, BOKUKUROAKATSUKKI

Winter chalet, shenanigans on snow, Akiteru and Saeko being the best, and most of all BOKUKUROAKATSUKKI This fic had my polyships sense tingling. And also wheezed again on the bus from laughing. Part of the same series as “We call her Harley Queen”.

Iwaizumi's phone is ringing. It's Matsukawa. He picks up even though he's on a date with Oikawa: "Hey! What's up?" Matsukawa: "You busy or can we talk a minute?" Iwaizumi grins: "No problem, I was just taking out the trash." Oikawa: "IWA-CHAN!!!" In the end, it was worth asking Matsukawa to call him.

would Kuroo be into someone who's a crybaby, depressed and insecure about themselves all the time, nerdy, has dark humour, doesn't do any sports and who gets more outgoing with people they know?

I think that he would!Kuroo, despite the usual fandom tendency to portray him as this really cool very sassy guy - which I would say he is, but he’s not only this - is also one who likes to take care of others.Be it the team, Kenma, or his s/o.I think he’d try to make you feel at ease, to help you with insecurities and the likes of it without pressuring you. He would probably try to get you excited about volleyball, but when he’d understand that you aren’t all that interested I think he won’t mention the thing anymore, ‘cause it’s okay if you don’t have the same interests! More different things to learn about you it’s good, in his opinion! And also, don’t worry about being nerdy with him about something, ‘cause that would probably be the perfect start for long passionate conversations: Kuroo’s nerdiness isn’t a secret. He’ll be into you for who you are and not who you are supposed to be. If you’ll want to better yourself, he’ll help you with all he has, but if you don’t want to, that’s okay too. He’ll love you anyway. He’s just that nice. ;)
