“...and i’ve been thinking about this a lot. like a lot. i like you, so so much.. and i know that this might ruin our friendship but i can’t hide my feelings anymore.” donghyuck says, waiting for. reaction, but not getting one.

“well, say something!” he pushes.

“that was terrible! if i was her, i would run away as fast as i can!” jeno responds to donghyuck’s practice speech.

donghyuck and jeno suddenly hear a giggle coming from behind the couch. they see chenle scurry off into the other room with his phone out.

“chenle! did you record that? don’t send it to her please!” donghyuck yells while chasing the younger.

“i already did! she’s gonna love this!” chenle says while letting out his signature laugh.

day 81, 12:39 AM

“what time is it again?” you ask, while letting out a yawn. “it’s almost one, hey, how about we work on this tomorrow?” donghyuck says through the facetime call. you were laying on your bed, finishing a project, but slowly dozing off every few minutes.

“ you’re tired, just go to sleep, i can finish up for you.” donghyuck offers again. “no, no, don’t worry! i’m fine. i’m not even sleepy!” you say while letting out a yawn once again. donghyuck chuckled, knowing how this night would end.

you sunk into your bad just a little bit more, trying to get more comfortable. you typed a few more sentences, occasionally glancing at donghyuck, seeing him write as well.

donghyuck started to play some music at a low volume, knowing that you would be able to hear it through the call. he periodically looked at the camera, only to notice that you dozed off to sleep.

“good night..” he whispers to the phone, before ending the call. the big smile on his face truly showed just how smitten he was, not realizing that you felt the same way.

day 96, 2:20 am

donghyuck was slouching in bed, occasionally writing his thoughts in a notebook, when his ring tone went off. he looked at the screen to see your name shining bright. he was confused as to why you were calling him so late, but nevertheless, he quickly answered the phone.

“hello?” he says through the phone.

hyuck? did i wake you up? i’m sorry for bothering you,” you tell him, not wanting to disturb him.

“no, you never bother me. what’s up? why are you up so late?” donghyuck asks while pushing himself up to sit up straighter on the bed.

“i just couldn’t sleep, that’s all. i’m just nervous for the exam tomorrow, but you always put me in a good mood,” you softly say to him.

“really?”donghyuck asks with inflection in his tone.

“mhmm” you say with a smile on your face.

“well, uh, this might sound weird but, i made a playlist for you, earlier this week. and i’m not done with it yet but do you want to listen to it?” he hesitantly asks.

“wait, a playlist? for me?” you ask, confused and excited all at the same time.

uh, yeah. is that weird? they’re just some songs that make me think of you. sometimes i listen to it to fall asleep,”donghyuck mentions shyly.

“no, that’s really sweet actually. can you send it to me? maybe it will help me calm my nerves and get some sleep,” you say, giddily.

“oh, okay! i’ll send it to you right now. good night, y/n, i hope you like it.” he says.

good night, hyuck! thank you,” you say.

“for what?”

“just for being you,”
