They know very little about love and expect it to be the neat little ribbon that ties their story together, but to be quite frank and probably a bit crass, the bow is plain-old ugly and isn’t very well-tied in the first place.

The Growth AU

When Character A was young, they believed that if they swallowed seeds and dirt, they would be able to “grow a plant in their tummy.” Their parents/guardians realize what Character A did and took them to the hospital immediately. The doctors tell them they would be absolutely fine and that everything would pass through. 

After about ten years, Character A begins having stomach pains, green tinted nails, and health problems. They are brought to the hospital once more but slipped out the back door when they were sedated. Character B, a scientist at a facility, is yanked out of their coffee break to find Character A, the missing link in their research.

Freak of Nature AU

Character A is an avid hiker who has a specific routine and has not veered from it for years, regardless of weather. One day in May, they head off for a hike only to be interrupted by a terrible blizzard of all things. They reach a cliff that seems to be the heart of the storm and find Character B, a human-cloaked storm sprite, in a terrible argument with someone who seems to be Mother Nature herself.

Get Hyped AU

Character A has developed a new type of super-caffeinated coffee bean and they would like to put it on the market as soon as possible. Character B is the unfortunate coffeeshop owner that is Character A’s first stop on their campaign trail.

Constellation DayDreams AU

Character A has always been insecure about their freckles. Character B has always thought they were an incredible sprinkle of stars, and they can’t help but imagine connecting those tiny atoms and showing Character A every constellation imprinted into their skin by the universe.

The immortal looked down at the sword protruding from their chest and sighed. ‘Well this is unfortunate.’
