Gears and Blood AU

Steampunk AU where Character A is an inventor that’s been experimenting with the concept of adding souls into automatons by combining dark magic with new technology.

The last thing that Character B remembers is fading into the darkness as they died. They most definitely died, but with a jolt they’re shocked back to reality, waking up to find themself in a mysterious room...and in a body that is most definitely not made out of flesh and bones.

Clockwork Heart AU

OTP AU where a person’s heart is kept inside of a pocket watch, so giving somebody your heart is metaphorical as well as literal. Character A has always had the worst luck with keeping up with their heart, and one day, Character A realizes that they’ve misplaced their pocket watch/heart somewhere in the city.

Character B was walking home one day when they find a pocket watch/heart on the street. Not wanting to just leave it there, Character B has been carrying around the watch with them for several days, becoming fond of the heart’s comforting ticking and feeling connected to its unknown owner.

Cold Marble Lips AU

Character A lives and works at a temple of Character B, the deity of the moon/the seasons/death/etc., and while cleaning the marble statue of Character B, Character A is struck with the overwhelming desire to plant a kiss on Character B’s cold, marble lips. Upon kissing the statue, it immediately begins to grow warm, and Character A watches in rapt fascination as the statue of Character B begins to move and animate, looking more and more human by the second.

Character B is a deity that has been trapped in a marble statue for decades. Supposedly, the only thing that could bring Character B out of their state as a statue would be to receive a kiss from their soulmate.

“I didn’t know who else to call but, I woke up this morning and I was floating five feet above my bed….I’m still up here and I can’t figure out how to get down. Can you come help me?” AU

Character A used to be a regular human, but one day Character A was held hostage as a part of a supervillain’s plan. Unfortunately for Character A, the superhero was too late to rescue them, and Character A was injected with some secret formula. In the next few weeks, Character A begins to go through several changes, many of which include the sudden manifestation of superpowers.

“I was born into a family of superheros, but I don’t have any powers. So you see, I invented this machine that can mutate people’s DNA and give them superpowers! It’s perfect! Now I’ll be just like the rest of my family!” AU (of course everything goes sideways from there)

While flying one day, Character A looks down to see a bright flash of light burning on the ground. Thinking that it might be a fire, Character A goes down to investigate, only to find Character B, a terrified person that has just manifested their new pyrokinesispowers.

Character A was born with some very strong, very unique powers, but they’ve never used them for good or evil. One day Character A receives a letter about joining a secret league of supervillains, and the promised payment would be more than enough to take care of Character A’s debts. Character B is superhero that is adamant about keeping their city safe from villains and robbers and the such…and they’re also Character A’s roommate.

“Ugh, yes! I lied to you! I do have a superpower, but believe me, you’re not going to think it’s ‘cool’ after I show you what I can do.” AU

Guard Your Heart AU

Character A is a rising celebrity and because of their new fame, they’ve been assigned a bodyguard, Character B. Everything seems to be working out okay, except for one teeny tiny detail: Character A is developing a crush on Character B.

For half-magic folk, the Renaissance Fair was always a fun time. Nobody looked twice if you had dragon wings or cat eyes; you just looked like a very dedicated cosplayer.

Soft Apocalypse AU

It’s the end of the world as we know it, and that’s just fine. Characters A and B are chilling out somewhere comfortable -- a rooftop in an abandoned city, a grassy hillside, the parking lot of their old high school, etc. -- sharing a soda and idly talking about what is next for the two of them. Will there be a flash of bright light and they’ll suddenly be in a perfect world? Is there just a dark tunnel to nothing? Will they both wake up in another flawed universe? Neither one of them knows, but they’re glad that they’re spending the last few minutes of the world together.

Glitz and Glamour AU

Character A may be royalty, but their life is anything but the glitz and glamour that it’s portrayed to be to the public. Inside of the house, Character A wakes up everyday afraid that their parent(s) might physically/emotionally/verbally abuse them again, and finally Character A can’t take it anymore. While their parent(s) goes out for official business, Character A packs a small bag of belongings and slips out of the house.

Character B used to be the heir to a rich family business, but after some unfortunate business, Character B was disowned and now lives in the city. One day, they hear a knock at their door and open it to find their old acquaintance, Character A.
