is this blog still active?

auideas is currently on hiatus. I meant to make a post about this in January, but after running the blog for three years, it had really taken a toll on me. My creativity was suffering, along with my mental health. After the Advent Calendar finished, I realized that I didn’t have the creative energy to make anymore posts and felt the need to get away from social media for a bit.

I’m hoping to come back to auideas in May, once college is out and I’m able to devote more time to writing again.

Can we have more Curse Prompt ?

“You’d think that crying diamonds would be a really helpful curse, but it’s extremely painful and I would do anything to reverse this.” AU 

After stealing a cursed ring, Character A’s finger has slowly been turning to silver. The more evil actions that they do – including lying, cheating and stealing – the faster the silver takes over Character A’s hand. 

“I looked in an ancient books and now I have to say whatever comes to my mind! You’ve got to help me out!” AU 

Character A has come into possession of some treasure that used to belonged to Character B, a particularly strong, angry spirit that has cursed Character A and now has partial control over Character A’s body, specifically their voice. The only way to get rid of Character B would be by reuniting the treasure with their dead body. 

After making a bad deal with a fairy, one part of Character A’s body has been reduced down to just bones. They can thread ribbons around the bones of their hand, or beaded strings through their empty rib cage, or try to cover up their skeletal neck with heavy scarves and clothes, etc. 

“Being cursed isn’t that bad – I mean sure, once a month I lose my senses and wake up in the middle of the woods alone afterwards, but it’s not as bad as people would lead you to think.” AU 

Character A is curse and they don’t know why – whenever Character A wants to talk, their voice comes out like an animal noise. Character B is a magical user that offers to help remove Character A’s curse.

Can I have new AUs involving rain or thunderstorms? :)

“The power got knocked out because of the storm, so now we’re sitting on your kitchen floor eating ice cream and laughing while rain is pouring outside, and I think I’m loving this more than our usual movie night.” AU

Character A really loves storms, and when a super storm rolls through, Character A pulls their car off to the side of the road and starts dancing in the rain. Character B has also pulled off to the side of the road, but only to watch Character A happily dancing in the street.

“It’s raining buckets outside, so I ducked inside of this little dusty bookstore and…oh wow…it’s beautiful in here…” AU

While walking home, Character A is caught in a huge thunderstorm and they have to take shelter underneath a shop awning/covered bus stop/large tree/etc. where they meet Character B, who offers Character A their umbrella.

Character A lives in a really rainy area, and they’re always getting caught in random thunderstorms. During a particularly bad storm, Character A walks into Character B’s coffee shop, completely drenched and in need of a change of clothes. Character B offers them a change of clothes kept in the back -- an employee shirt and jeans -- and a free cup of coffee. 

“I just want to be snuggled up to your side, wrapped in a blanket, drinking hot coco, and watching the rain outside.” AU

Feeding Off Your Fear AU

Character A is an unconventional type of vampire -- instead of feeding off of blood like a regular vampire, Character A can feed off of peoples’ fears. Character B has intense anxiety, which is why they make the perfect roommate for Character A.

Do you have any magic technology prompts ? (Think like Castle in the Sky or Atlantis movie)

In a society full of winged people, Character A was born without wings. So, they’ve invented a pair of fully functional wings (out of magic feathers, steampunk technology, magic technology, etc.) and Character A wants their best friend, Character B, to help teach them how to fly. 

“I don’t know what you’re so excited about -- where I’m from, anybody can do magic. You could too, if you tried hard enough.” AU 

Character A is the ex-heir of a fallen kingdom and they’re one of the last magic users around. They’ve been trying to keep their magic a secret, but Character B catches Character A using their magic to make small, metal toys sing and dance for fun. 

Character A lives in a society that can all use magic, and one day, Character B arrives. They’re a traveler that’s never seen magic before, and can’t seem to use it either. Character A is appointed as Character B’s guide around the city, showing them all that the city has to offer. 

“Trust me when I say that this necklace has magic powers -- hold it in your hand and think of your happiest memory and see what happens.” AU 

While exploring some ancient ruins, Character A comes across some long forgotten relic that was pinned underneath the rubble. Rubbing dirt off of it, Character A is astonished when the object begins to glow. Character B is an elemental trapped inside of a stone/metal/wooden body, and they’ve just been reawakened by Character A.

Knight and Dragon AU

Character A is a knight that was hired to kill a dragon that’s been plaguing the kingdom. While sorting through the dead dragon’s loot, Character A finds a freshly hatched baby dragon snuggled among the gold and jewels. 

Rather than killing the dragon, Character A opts for taking the dragon and raising it as their companion.

Shadow Prince AU

Royalty AU where Character A is a servant at the royal castle and one of their responsibilities is to bring food to Character B, the ‘Shadow Prince’. Nobody has ever seen Character B out in the daylight, earning them the nickname.

One day, while collecting Character B’s dishes and setting out dinner for them, Character A watches as Character B’s door creaks open and they get a glimpse at the beautiful, elusive, Shadow Prince.

Inky black tears dripped down his cheeks as his eyes slowly turned an opaque black. The ritual had begun.

The Never Book
