MINT JELLY IS DELICIOUS. Especially on lamb! I'm on the side of all mint things being delicious and fresh
This sounds more like a White-European thing. So I don't know. And I can't eat red meat too much or else I get stomach problems.
I'm p sure it might be fine if it was homemade or if it was a good quality. Me and my brother were actually excited since we like a lot of mint stuff.
But when we bought it home and tried it, it tasted/smelled more of 85% plastic and only 15% mint. And it was like those cheap mint candies you get from restaurants that has been sitting there for years and had melted down then formed into that jelly. And not even good mint like peppermint it was just very artificial tasting.
Would be willing to try it out if it was PROPERLY prepared but it left a wild first impression on us, last night.

Do you think BTS would be offended or supportive of seeing their pictures un-whitewashed in blogs like this? I can’t help but feel that they also whitewash their own pictures and it’s not always just their team.
Well, that is a common issue with people of color. Colorism is embedded in our daily lives. So most of us either feel, or others of our ethnicity feel, that we won’t be beautiful/valued as people unless we are light-skinned.
I used to whitewash myself in photos and wear skin lighteners when I was younger. I didn’t stop until I realized after looking at natural/unedited photos of other Asians that I found out how unhealthy hating our bodies was and how deeply it could cut our own self-worth.
We cannot speak for all Asian Media restore blogs. Since not all restore blogs are owned by or co-adminned by E/SE Asian, but here at Sunnyoongi, we are trying to celebrate E/SE Asian skin and trying to get people to understand that we should love BTS as they are. Whether that be pale, average, tan, or dark. That's why we are using references, learning skills in lighting and photography, evaluating and re-evaluating each other’s editing, and posting unedited/minimally edited content just so we can get as accurate of a representation of their natural selves as possible.
Whereas fansites/companies whitewashing them is a forcing a beauty standard upon them without their consent. Of course, this is a different case if they were to whitewash themselves. Because they are dealing with their own definitions of beauty standards and have internalized colorism. So we won’t ever touch pictures that the members personally took of each other nor their selfies as we feel as that is a violation of their consent and privacy.
We want unwhitewashed/unedited photos of BTS to be more commonplace and more widely accepted by the public. So that they can stop hating their own skin. I’m not sure if you know, but members like Taehyung, Hoseok, and Namjoon are the most impacted by colorism. Namjoon was teased for “not looking Korean”, Hobi was given skin lightening creams as gifts by fans, and Taehyung has apologized at least twice to fans for unintentionally tanning his skin and said that his skin looked dirty. And it doesn’t really help when BTS also tease/bully each other for their skin color as well.
We don’t know what BTS think nor can we force them to think a certain way. All we can do is support them as they are, give them privacy, and let them have the consent to what they want to do.

Hello, as a little side note:Namjoon has stated he doesn’t like certain filters on vlive and claimed “I look like Dracula [...] I look too pale [...] It doesn’t look like me.” At least, that is what the translations said. So I’m sure he is aware of certain white-washing aspects and does not support such acts.
As Admin Matte stated above, there are times where they use filters on selfies to lighten their skin, but again, we do not touch/restore such pictures. Some members use the app, others don’t or rarely do. It’s up to them really. Regardless I find them all handsome, be it snow app or not.
Again, I hope they realize a lightening app is not really needed. If that is what makes them happy, I am not against them using it. After all, this is the Love Yourself era, this message should be for them as well.

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you so much for restoring white-washed pics of the boys and reblogging uww ones. As a fellow Asian, I really love the boys' natural skintones (because they all look so handsome and glowy??? Like damn how can you NOT see how absolutely gorgeous their natural skin is :/) and it is so disheartening to see them basically white-washed into ghosts. It's so hard to find good fansite pics that aren't white as hell, so thank you and keep up the good work! 💜💜💜
Woop woop another fellow Asian.
Where were y’all hiding? Suddenly bombarding our inboxes consecutively. asdfghjkl
They ARE gorgeous. Like just looking at them in the flesh and just seeing them naturally glow and dazzle. It is such a let down when you compare them in real life vs the whitewashed photos...like... god.
If you want to find good fansites that don’t whitewash them, we have a fansites list with the link to it here. The ones with sun and moon signs are what we recommend to follow. Although the sun sign ones are preferred.
Hope this helps and thank for the love!

I have sympathy for people who don’t understand why skin lightening is bad, because I myself grew up in Asian culture, and also lighten my own selfies. It’s just so ingrained in you from a young age. Like, aunties always went outside with umbrellas, and you better wear sunscreen! At the same time, it is an issue that needs to be addressed, I just don’t think it’ll be solved anytime soon since it’s so involved with classicism and stuff. Anyway, I do appreciate the work you guys are doing
Exactly! People really don’t understand how prevalent it is in our culture. And since we grew up in that mindset. It’s hard to get comfortable in your own skin and to get out of that line of thinking.
Sometimes, I still fall back in that mindset whenever I take my own selfies too. And even if you, yourself have grown out of that, everyone else in your family and friend circle might still follow these racist/classist based ideals.
I don’t even know how many times my relatives have called me a dirty farmer or denied my ethnicity just because I was getting darker. And to be honest, they still do that.
It can be hell. And no, I don’t think it’ll be solved anytime soon. But every little bit helps. That’s why we should be here for each other and supporting each other.
Thank you so much for messaging us,
it really makes us feel warm and loved when we get messages like these.
Remember to love yourself!

I just wanted to say thank you for running this blog. I think it’s great that there are people out there who recognize whitewashing as a problem and work to combat it. It might seem silly, but your blog actually makes me feel better about my own skin. Idk who whitewashes the pictures of BTS, it might be the members themselves or their team but it’s so nice to see their natural skin color. It helps me knowing they don’t actually have the unattainably paper-white skin tone we always see them with
You’re welcome, babe!
It’s not silly at all, it’s kind of the main reason why Admin Gloss and I started up this blog!
Helping others know that they are normal and loving your own skin is a lot easier once you know that the people you admire are just like you. That’s why representation is so important.
We are so glad that this blog was able to help you, it really means a lot when we get messages like this.
