Admin Thoughts

Hey guys! Admin Jay and I have been thinking about this for a really long time, and we’ve really thought it over, so we’d like to share our ramblings. So, below will be said rambling. It will be about France vs. 2P! France (Francis vs. Francois) so, if you’re interested, read more.~Admin Sarah and Jay

It starts with the Mirrorverse, aka where the 2P!’s are from.  For some countries, like England vs. 2P! England, the mirror is very thick, meaning that one cannot easily become the other. The same goes for Italy and 2P! Italy, one cannot become the other. Though in the case of France and 2P! France, their mirror is the thinnest it could possibly be. One could easily become the other.  How, you may ask? Here’s our thoughts:

Francis, many years ago, when Jeanne D’Arc was burnt alive, went into a pit of deep depression. Francis truly had loved her, more than the world, and she was burnt alive before him. It caused him to be both angry and depressed, and it was toward everything. He stopped believing in love, at least for that period of time. Francis took on bad habits, such as alcoholism to try and help him ease the pain, since there was a literal burn in his heart. Since he is a country, it hardly worked, but it didn’t stop him from trying. As soon as they were invented and became available to him, Francis picked up smoking. I have mentioned before that he has since then quit smoking, but does keep an emergency pack in his house for when he needs a smoke. After many years and time passed, he became the Francis we know today; loving and laid-back. Whether he acknowledges it or not; the time period in which he was depressed, was when Francois was created.  Created being a loose term to show how thin the mirror between the two worlds became close enough to bleed over.

Now that being said about Francis’ lowest moment, let’s look at Francois. It’s my (Admin Jay) thought that before Jeanne D’Arc was burned, Francois and Francis had similar lives and personalities. Though once that event happened, it darkened both of them, the only change being that Francois never recovered. He never pulled himself out of the pit of depression and never tried to get off his vices. Francois saw drinking and later smoking, as a way to distance himself from his own memories and try to drown them out so he never had to face them. Like a coward, he hid from his own memories so he never had to face what had happened and never had to cope. Without moving on, however; he created a monster inside of himself that he just could not beat. Francois crippled himself by making his dependence on alcohol and cigarettes an every day necessity and not just an occasional vice. The gap then between those two became so large and so unavoidable, they were seen as two completely different people. Therefore, creating himself as an independent creature. The 2P. 

Now before I confuse anyone too much, I see the 2p universe two ways. Either the 2ps stem from a deep seeded fear/ event from the 1ps lives, which on it’s own is a good theory, except it excludes the 2ps own development and lives before that point. Or I see it as these two universes existed completely independent from one another, until Francis and Francois hit that moment where they were similar. That moment causing the mirror itself to thin and allow passage between the worlds, hence why Allen can harass Alfred and so on and so forth. 

In conclusion, Francois is very much capable of love and romance, very similar to Francis, but he just chooses not to put effort into it out of fear of losing someone again, where Francis doesn’t let the past hold him back anymore. Francois sees no point in hoping for the best when he watched the worst of it right before his eyes.  In his mind, he sees no point to love since he has accepted the fact that no love will last, and Francis sees love as something to cherish while it is still there.  The last thought we have as to why the mirror is so thin between the two of them; is their appearance. Very often, countries will look very different from their 2P! counterparts, like Oliver and Arthur, or Alfred and Allen. But with Francis and Francois, they look nearly the same. The only difference being how much effort they put into the appearance; if Francois shaved some of his stubble, and did something to his hair, he would look the same as Francis. Other than that, there is no real difference between the two.

As much as we'd love to be more involved, even as "sponsors" in all these great TF2 children charity events - we also realise that having the word FUCK in the name doesn't really help our case here.

well, i was going to post a nice version of 31 today for the birthday occasion but looks like my laptops bust and it'll have to wait. i hope aimee had a fantastic birthday - we all love her v much and wish her many more years of happiness :-)
