DA drunk writing circle is a writing community and event for Dragon Age fanfic writers. Every Friday, writers can ask for prompts and reply to them, or reply to previous prompts. Some also do non-prompted pieces, but they all tend to be shorter ficlets.
Anyone CAN join. There is no requirements, other than a desire to write Dragon Age fanfic. It is not a writer’s critique or a moderated event, it is purely for practice (this also means - read at your own discretion).

We’ve been seeing some people post prompt fills as links to ao3 only, and after an admin chat we have decided that moving forward these will not be accepted.
The DA drunk writing circle is a tumblr event, and the stories should be posted on tumblr. If you post on ao3 (or other places) at the same time, it’s fine to include a link, but the the story should be viewable on tumblr.
Moving forward we’re not going to reblog link only posts. We’re sorry if it inconveniences anyone.
Your prompt fill must be posted on tumblr in its entirety.
It’s fine to post under cut, and it’s fine to include links!
Team NA/Aus has around 100 writers on the roster. This is lovely and amazing and we love you all!
However, it makes it a bit time consuming to put forth head count (due to tumblr limitations on copy/pasting mentions), and to post kick off and update prompt lists.
Because of this, we have decided to move forward with two updates.
1. Removal of inactive writers.
it looks like a number of writers have been inactive for a while (several months). It is fine, we understand life happens and that you want to be part of dwc but might not have time. However, we are going to move inactive writers to an inactive list, which are not included on the head count.
If you want to be on the head count post going forward, please affirm it on this post. Anyone not replying will be set as inactive.
Inactive writers can be moved to active at any moment (just let us know), and you are still welcome in the writer’s discord chat. A way to think of this is that if you plan to write (even once) in the next couple months, feel free to stay active. We are not trying to exclude anyone or set limits on participation.
2. Requiring static prompt lists.
This is another thing we have to do to make it more manageable for us to do the kick off post. Each writer need to have one static link for prompts, which does not change from week to week. You can either use any tumblr post and edit it with links or similar to your prompt list (ex here ) or you can use tumblr redirects to link to any post (see instructions here).
Please send a direct message to admin Viking ( @thevikingwoman ) with your static link to prompts. This includes writers who already have a static list.
We are sorry to ask you to do this, but with the current amount of writers, the admin work has become a huge task, and we are trying to find ways to reduce this. Thank you for your help!

it is very simple to join - message one of the admins - @thevikingwoman @ma-sulevin or @galadrieljones if you wish to join Team North America / Australia or @princessvicky01 if you want to join team Europe. (Note that @galadrieljones is on vacation this week)
Let them know you want to be included, and let them know your intended prompt list or phrase. Your timezone is helpful too. You will be added to the headcount posts that go out Friday.

We love all the people who join us here at Drunk Writing Circle! New writers and readers are always welcome :)
If you want to join, remember to contact an admin directly, not just reblog the roll call or kickoff post. It is easier for us if you contact us before Friday, and all we need for you to get started is a prompt list or short prompt phrase. There is no barrier of entry, and no commitment to fill any or all prompts.
For current writers, remember to update your prompt list by Thursday midnight PST. This helps us getting everything organized :). Tip: You can always make a permanent blog post with a link to prompts, then just change the content of that.
In addition, when the roll call goes out, remember to comment or reblog with added text, so it is easy to see in the notes if you are in or out !

Note that this Friday, admin ma-sulevin is the main admin, as both admin Gala and admin Viking are out of town, and admin Garden is busy. This also means late-night reblogs might be sporadic or late!

Hi! Yes there are!
All of us admins try to remember to post them to @dadrunkwriting when we find some we like, and they are all tagged ‘writing prompts’. You can find them here. (Link is also in the dadrunkwriting’s menu, along with the FAQ). Hope you find one that meets your needs :).
You can also browse tumblr for writing prompt lists, there are lots out there. A list doesn’t have to come from you or dadrunkwriting to be valid :)
