Hey :) I'm new to Tumblr and I'm having quite a bit of trouble getting started... I was wondering if you could give me any advice? How did you get started and come to where you are today? 😅 anything is really appreciated

Oh hey!! Welcome!

This blog started off in 2015 under the name Faireply, if any of our followers remember that lol. Our first post was a look into Haven City, listing attractions, population, culture, things like that. I was super proud when it hit like, 20 notes (I think now it rests on 52 or smth)

Looking back on it, there’s a lot that I would change but hey, five years is a long time. We’ve come super far and I’m really proud to be considered one of the big-name blogs in the fowldom - I think I get to say that if you’re sending this ask, right? :b

Advice wise? Don’t give up! We have posts that are flops all the time - the notes only hit double digits if we’re lucky, when our best ones break into the hundreds. It’s bound to happen, so just keep pushing through and creating content and interacting with everyone else! Make friends (I should take my own advice rip), have fun, and keep it up! You’ll find your way! :D

summer plans in quarantine, anyone? mine are re-reread the full series, (fowl twins included) and decode all the messages. Also try and get Disney plus to watch and rant about the movie. sound like you? The only good thing about the movie is the new books that are getting released too.

Well, we’re australian, so its winter here!  We’re siblings too, so we used to share books but I (wara) moved interstate at the start of 2019 for uni so I haven’t been able to read them since :(

UNTIL NOW! I bought my own box set of the series like, the day after the movie dropped and oh man, i forgot just how fun they are! Also i fell in love w the covers they’re so pretty but time paradox has an error in which 10yo artemis has mismatched eyes too even though he doesn’t get them til he’s like, fifteen

Sidenote: I gotta read Fowl Twins sometime rip

have fun decoding! I used to have a DS game which was ebooks of the series and you would pick up portions of the code throughout the pages. It means I got the messages without having to manually decode lol

What ships for the books do you have (if any)?

Somehow, not very much! I like the concept of Holly and Trouble, and sometimes I like Minerva and Artemis, so there’s that?

But yeah, I understand these characters are their own people and don’t need ships to define them. They might have a good dynamic, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it would work in the long run! (I mean, I know Lily and Trouble are a thing but I don’t really think it would last…)

But Foaly and Callabine is a definite! I’m generally there for canon ships~! :D

Meet Waratah Brownik, LEP Retrieval specialist and close combat extraordinaire.

She’s tall, very strong (both physically and personality-wise) and around the same age as Grub Kelp. She stayed back in the Academy to take more courses, so she didn’t graduate until shortly after the goblin rebellion, whereas Grub went straight into the field. She quickly found herself thrust into operations to apprehend B’wa Kell stragglers, at the guidance of her older brother and superior officer Gaius.

Other officers have noted her strength and proficiency in combat, with one even referring to her as ‘frigging terrifying’. She has quickly climbed the ranks, and she now serves as Retrieval One’s breaching specialist, owing to her habit of smashing through walls, windows, and nearly anything that isn’t a door.

Her name comes from the Australian native flower, alluding to her hair colour. In-universe reason is that they did genetic testing when she was in the womb and they found she was going to have some seriously red hair, so they decided on the name, which originates from the Eora tribe of the Australian east coast, which had once had some light contact with the People.
