With Fire Emblem Heroes reviving as well as sparking interest in older games, the FE roleplay community has seen a surge of rp blogs for older characters recently. We at History of the Emblem, as a blog that prides itself on older game positivity and introducing newer fans to older games, have included roleplay masterlists to help rpers find each other. These lists are tiny as of right now and we would really like to expand them!
Please send us an ask if you roleplay a character from any of the continents listed below, and we will add your blog to the masterlist. Spread this post around as well to help bring the FE rp community together!
Will the formatting for the contest be posted after signups? Like photo DPI and size, and if you want a full body or backgrounds and such?
We will make a formal post about size guidelines when signups are done, but I can answer a few of these questions now.
We are looking for full-body art as it allows for flexibility of the placement of the art on the banner/promo.
The submitted version of the art (the one that will be judged) must have a transparent background, because the banner and promo will include drawings of the lords from multiple artists combined into one image. You can post a version of the art with a background on your own blog, but know that only the one with a transparent background will count for the contest.
Hello! I’ve created this video as an introduction to History of the Emblem, and also as an easy way to let people know about our blog and our mission. Please let Fire Emblem fans on other sites know about us so we can bring the whole community together!

Hello, I’m Sylv. I’m the head admin of the blog History of the Emblem, a blog that celebrates the history of the Fire Emblem series, provides a community for fans of the older Fire Emblem games, and serves as an encouraging resource for newer fans to learn abouand play the older games. There are several mods who run History of the Emblem alongside me, each specializing in a different continent or era of the series, from Archanea to Tellius. We reblog fanart, create informative posts, hold events such as character polls, and much more.
I created this blog as someone who started with Fire Emblem: Awakening in June of 2016, went on to play older titles in the series, and felt incredibly lonely in a community overflowing with content for the newer games in the series. I had very few people to discuss the older games with, posts on the tags for those games were sparse, and people refused to roleplay with my Eliwood blog because of the lack of familiarity and regardless of the fact that I had a summary of the plot on his about page. I almost considered leaving the fandom altogether. But the positive response that History of the Emblem has received has given me hope for the future of the community. Through this blog’s presence on Tumblr, more people have shown interest in playing older titles in the series, and we hope to continue to inspire more fans to do the same.
However, there is still much work to be done, and a collective effort is required.
The Fire Emblem community, especially on Tumblr, has come to a point where we can no longer deny the divide that exists between those who enjoy the older games and those who only play the 3DS games. In the time following the Fire Emblem Direct on January 18th, 2017, the information that was revealed about the remake of Fire Emblem: Gaiden, the mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes, and the spin-off game Fire Emblem Warriors ended up highlighting the divide further. Many older fans worried that the immense presence of the newer titles would limit the representation of characters from games such as Genealogy of the Holy War or The Sacred Stones. Newer fans, on the other hand, got the impression that older fans were excluding them, and they were not “true fans” because they started with Awakening or Fates. Even with the announcement of new Fire Emblem games, the divide has still not ceased- we can’t all share our feelings about the news without feeling alienated in some way.
That is why I am advocating to tear down the divide that exists in the Fire Emblem community; that is the reason why History of the Emblem was created.
Please spread the word about this effort, whether on Tumblr itself or on other sites where Fire Emblem has a significant presence. Older fans should reach out to newer fans with respect and encourage them to learn about the older games- we’re all part of the same fandom, after all. Newer fans, on the other hand, should be open-minded to the other games in the series without dismissing fans as “elitists” and perhaps give those games a try, or watch a playthrough. Though perhaps the divide may never be eliminated completely, we at History of the Emblem hope to bring people together, no matter what game they started with, in order to make the future of the community a brighter one.

Hello! After talking things over with the admins and several members of the Discord server, we have come to a conclusion that putting Elincia on the Tellius poll was an error. The purpose of the Unit of the Month poll is to showcase underlooked units. Because Elincia is a main character, she should have been excluded from the poll. We apologize for this error, and we have decided to replace Elincia with Nasir.
The new Tellius poll is linked below. Please reblog this as well so those who have voted will remember to vote again.
"Many new fans aren’t realizing that there are entire stories, characters, and gameplay experiences that they’re just missing out on- and that’s what this blog is here for!" I know their are a lot of older stories out there. It's just that every time I interact with an older Fire Emblem fan, they call me a "not real fan" because I started with Awakening. So forgive me if I am a little cautious of getting into older games because of the toxicity of the older fans.
I promise you that the people on this blog and in our Discord server are not like the people you have encountered at all. Every time we hear about Awakening/Fates fans getting hate, it saddens me greatly, because it paints a terrible picture of what fans of the older games are like, as well as the fandom as a whole. It’s totally understandable that your experiences make you skeptical of the older games, and I’m really hoping this blog will be able to fight the toxicity you experienced.
However, I also think it’s important not to let people like them stop you from playing great games! In the end, your experiences with Fire Emblem are your own- you shouldn’t need someone else to validate them. If you need any information about the games before you play, feel free to ask us!
