To start we want to celebrate #Hettie who is essentially the perfect rattie. She is super chill when her HuMum is a bit too busy for snuggles unlike some ratties (DEFINITELY looking at you Gizmo and Gadgets). She never holds a grudge if it isn't time for Hettie. But when it is time for Hettie, my goodness - it's all happy rattie, endless loving and good times. She might be in the "you own rent hold" in this photo but she is so wonderful that she can just owe rent forever and that is a-okay! So, for being the perfect balance of chilled and loving #Hettie, you are absolutely this week's Best #ROTW.
Now, the following nomination is brought to your attention on the behalf of our beloved and long suffering #RRHVollies who are subject to cleaning #Cage5 EVERY WEEK. It is a sufferance, believe us. The residents of Cage 5 excel at mess making, scent marking, poop generating and just absolute unkempt chaos. No matter how much enrichment, litter training and attention we provide - they just do not seem to care about the comfort of their surroundings or the experience of the #RRHVollies who are scheduled to clean up after them. So #Cage5 #RRHResidents, you are absolutely and disgustingly this week's Worst #ROTW.

In terrifying news, two snowballs were found in Brisbane this morning... It isn't ever cold enough for snow in Brisbane, but here they are!
This week is truly a celebration, even in a week with a Best and Worst - our two candidates deserve applause.
Why? Well both of the are about 3 years of age and sure, our beloved ratties can absolutely make it 3 years of age but it isn't something we see particularly often in the Rescue due to the impacts of unethical breeding and poor care or neglect pre-rescue.
Today we give a shout out to a truely spectacular ratiree, our very own Best ROTW GrandmaPepper who has spent the last 18 months being a companion to rats who were readying themselves for the peace of the rainbow bridge. One of our very helpful rattie volunteers, one of our companion fosters and now, one of our most loved permies. Thanks for all that you did to make rodent lives better GrandmaPepper - it's time for you to live it up in your own relaxing ratirement.
Conversely, the harried ghost of ChateauxdeAdminAlly - the incredibly resilient Prada - is up for Worst ROTW .
I mean, I know you have been through the ringer my dear and I know you are a fighter, but LousVuitton and I are not the enemy...there was NO. REASON. TO. PEE. ON. US.

Todays winners show you the best and worst in rattie behaviour.
We start with the BEST - the delightful and caring Nurse Froggy who spent some time napping with her unwell human yesterday. Seen here with all the important tools of the trade.
However, we like balance, so our WORST candidate is the cheekily named Cutie who has been 'officially diagnosed by Rach' as have CHBD (Chronic Huge B!itch Disorder). Using funds raised by our delightful community #Cutie has received an implant to address her rudeness and so far we are excited to say we are seeing less rude.
