“In other breaking news, Jay is 100% reliable and -.”

“Cam?”

“I don’t -.”

We cut to commercials and Davis stormed out of his office. “What in hell was that?”

“I don’t know. I just - I know it was important,” Cameron whispered, his voice cracking.

Even the boss blinked at that. Cameron was as close to unflappable as a news reporter could get while still having lips that flapped.

“Important how?” I pressed.

“To - to everyone,” he said and there was a look on his face I would never forget no matter how hard I wanted to.

1: Do you ever wish you were someone else?Sort of yes and sort of no? 

Mooms likes to tell this story of the day she got a call from my kindergarten or preschool (I forget which) to come and pick me up. She was confused and worried, so she hurried over. When she got there, the teachers were very apologetic, saying things like, “We think what she did was SO BRAVE!” and “It’s just that it’s policy, and...” 

Mooms asked them what they were talking about. They told her that I had to be sent home for fighting. “FIGHTING?!” I was a good kid, too shy to say much to anyone who wasn’t my mom or dad. When other kids got punished, I would cry, I was so upset. And I was in trouble for fighting?!

Apparently an older, bigger kid was bullying someone else. Now this kid was easily twice my size, according to the teachers. But I walked up to him and tapped him on the arm and said, “You shouldn’t do that. It’s not nice.” The bully ignored me, so I did it again. “Leave him alone.” When this second warning also went unheeded, I slugged the bully in the stomach as hard as I could.

So do I wish I were someone else? Not really. I just wish I could go back to the little girl who, even though she was too shy to make friends, would stand up and do what’s right, even when it was scary and even if it got her in trouble.

4: Have you ever dyed your hair?Not yet! 

I’ve had lowlights and highlights, but never a full dye job. I LOVE my real hair color. It’s one of my favorite physical features. (Thus the lowlights (usually) - to help bring out and enhance the current color.)

Now, that being said, as I age, I am starting to get gray hairs. I don’t have a problem with that. Why should I? It happens to pretty much everyone. But here’s my plan:

I’m going to let my hair lose its color naturally. (ngl, I’m hoping I get a white streak or two first, because that would look awesome as hell) And after my hair’s gone completely gray or white or whatever? 

FUNKY RAINBOW UNICORN HAIR COLOR TIME. I want blue hair or purple hair or RAINBOW HAIR or whatever! I waaaaaaaaaaant that, but I love my current hair color too much to fuck with it, y’know? >:3

"How weird?"

"It was about how if we get fusion to work, it involves making electricity by boiling water. The boy said the Admiral was maybe not sure, so he wanted to know what body of water he should start boiling."

"And this is not a prank?"

"... he sounded serious."

"How old was the boy?"

"Eleven. I don't know why I know that?"

"I think I don't want to think about Jay and pranks. Wake up everyone in the satellite division. We're at Jaycon 2."

"Sir?"

"And don't tell the Prime Minister. He has enough problems these days."
