"I can't remember who I am..."
🌹 for ya
"Quiet." His voice isn't loud. It's soft, steady, powerful.
Around the chamber, marble pillars crack and noble lords fall from gilded seats, mouths agape but obediently silent. Despite the weight of their gaze, Adonis stands tall.
"You... you have no right to speak of him. You who have grown complacent in his absence. You who mistake assumptions for truths. You mock him. You mock our family. But most of all, you mock yourselves. You have memories of him, I have his spirit. You have hidden in his shadow, I have learned to cast it. Do not pretend to know him, and do not pretend to know me. Think what you will. Truly," a low chuckle escapes from his lips, "I do not care. I invite you to underestimate me, as you always have." You watch a bit of tension release from his shoulders. "You are dismissed. All of you."
Adonis ignores the councilors as the room erupts into polite chaos. He looks past them all, makes eye contact with you, and together, you smile.
Pyrite and Malachite if you'd like !!! <3
Hey Morgan!! Thank you ☺️💜
Pyrite: Could the antagonist and protagonist ever be friends?
Hooo boy. I haven't really talked much about the antagonistic contestants, but you can (at least try) to ally with each of them. But be friends? No. Probably not. They're all extremely self-serving and know that if all goes according to plan, you won't be around for long...
Now, Adonis' storyline has unique antagonists, and with them... I don't know... who's to say? Could be yes, could be no... *smiling deviously*
Malachite: What do the characters have to lose?
For the contestants: everything. This is their last chance before their eternities are decided. Winning is the best possible outcome. It's essentially ascending to godhood and getting to "live" in the Underworld doing what you love for as long as you want. But, if they get eliminated, they could be sent to Elysium (the good place), Asphodel (the neutral place), or Tartarus (the bad place). There's even a chance to be sent to the Isles of the Blest (best of the best) or the Pit (the worst place in existence). So, choosing to compete is a huge gamble and all of the characters, including MC, have everything to gain, and everything to lose.
For Hero: happiness and a final chance at success.
For Adonis: the respect of his peers and support of his people.
