I managed to finish in time. OMG, we're so close to the end. I also realised that an episode I bring up here would of been a great fit for Swap, so I'll fit it in after.
Risk Taker
“Thanks for inviting me.” Adrien said.
“Yeah, of course. I’m surprised you agreed though. It sounded like your mom was pretty free this week.” Luka said.
“She is, but I introduced her to Marc’s mom and they’ve become best friends and Marc has been looking for an excuse to have her out of the house, so I suggested they go out for dinner. I think mama is just happy to have friends other than co-workers at the embassy.”
“Well, I’m still glad you’re coming with us. I hope you don’t feel like a fourth wheel. This is practically date night for the girls.”
Adrien shrugged, biting his lip. “I don’t mind.”
Luka patted the spot next to him on the couch and Adrien plopped down as Luka continued plucking notes on his guitar. He tried not to fidget or give any clues but it was hard. The past few months since he met Luka were amazing. Not only did he have a close friend and someone he could talk to, but there were moments that just gave Adrien hints that maybe his feelings weren’t one-sided. His crushes usually happened by looks first, small glancing ones. Once he got to know the person better, that’s when the crush either grew or faded away. With Luka it grew, quite quickly. Was a bit terrifying feeling yourself fall for a person that quickly? Yes, but Adrien didn’t feel at risk with Luka. the biggest risk he would take now was possibly ruining their friendship if Luka didn’t feel the same. But how was he not supposed to take the risk?
After he used the Cat Miraculous for the first time, when he’d overdone it with the powers, Luka was the first one to visit him. They spoke in whispers and Adrien felt like a cat when Luka ran his fingers through his hair. He was actually pushing his head into Luka’s hand, making the older teen laugh at him and continue for longer. He was welcomed back to rehearsals with a big hug from everyone, but Luka had been the one to lead it, not Rose. Then there was the whole Desperada event. During the whole time where Scarlet Bug and Catseye, who’d been wearing the Tiger Miraculous, gave him the Cat Miraculous one more time, he’d been worried about Luka who was locked in the employee room for his own protection. The minute he handed Scarlet Bug – well, at the time he was Viperon, a blonde someone had the Ladybug – back the Miraculous, he went running and felt his heart stop when Luka wasn’t there. He appeared at the time and Adrien didn’t let him go.
“Where were you?”
“You disappeared so I went looking for you.”
“What about Desperada? What if she came down here?”
“Then I’d be even more worried for you.”
How was Adrien not supposed to have feelings?
“You ok?” Adrien looked over to see Luka putting his guitar down and turning to him.
“Yeah. Just…I have something I want to ask, but I’m really nervous to.”
“Well, you don’t have to right now. Whenever you feel ready, I’ll listen.”
“It’s just, asking this comes with a huge risk. Something I don’t think I’ve done much of, mainly because in the back of my mind, I’d be leaving soon. But I like living here and I hope mom is assigned to be here longer.”
“Sometimes risks are worth it. Just, do what you think feels right.”

Juleka touched up her eyeliner, waiting for Rose to finish changing. She knew her brother wouldn’t mind the wait since Adrien was also coming. Her eyes caught the reflection of the Cat Miraculous on her finger, a simple silver ring with a paw print. It turned that way to suit her from the thicker band. She never minded it before but after seeing the ring on Adrien, it got her thinking. Luka told her that something told him Adrien would be a good fit for the Cat Miraculous when Style Queen glitterized her and he’d been right. Using the extra powers tended to quickly put her out of commission quickly, but he managed to hold on long enough to use Cataclysm right after. He paid the price for it but still. It had been her idea when they decided that they needed back up to go against Desperada. No one immediately came to mind when it came to the Snake, so they decided to not risk weaken themselves the unification and have Luka use it. It had been during the Naruto shoot the topic of who would be a good Ladybug, Chloe had gotten the top choice, Marinette right after and since Marinette had gotten caught by Desperada, Chloe was asked to take the place of Scarlet Bug for a moment. The Tiger Miraculous was also taken as extra protection.
When she went for training, Fu finally agreeing after Luka threatened to become the villain, he was so sure the Cat holder would be if not regulated, Roaar loved talking with her. Not that the other Kwamis didn’t, but she took a special liking to her. She even backed up Luka, yelling at Fu for holding prejudice against her. It was weird, she liked being Catseye, but being Tigresse Pourpre felt right almost.
“You look lopsided.” Plagg said from the lops of her scarf she was wearing.”
“Plagg, do you like Adrien?”
She hadn’t forgotten Luka telling her he heard Plagg call Adrien kitten. His nicknames weren’t usually so affectionate.
“Yeah, of course I do. Are you worried about his crush on your brother? I was under the impression you were fine with it.”
“I am, of course I am. It’s just, I don’t think I’m a bad Cat Miraculous holder, but Adrien is really good at it right?”
Plagg was silent and she looked down at where he was nestled inside. He looked like he was battling with saying something.
“I’m not saying I don’t like you. just…I’ve always kinda bonded with Roaar.”
“Trust me Blacky, I know.” Plagg sighed. “He’s a good holder. You’re good too you know.”
“I know. It’s just, do you think it’ll be a risk if holders switched so suddenly?”
“You’d be surprised.” Plagg looked haunted. He and Tikki looked like that at times. “Sometimes Fu messes up. If you think being a permeant 3-member team would work better, I’m all for it.”
“It would work in figuring out if having the others keep their Miraculous would be a good idea. I just don’t love the idea of leaving Fu without protection.”
“He’ll be fine. He’s like an eel, he’s able to slip away. Just…don’t let him shove the responsibility of Guardian onto you two. It would do him some good to not be given every scrap of information.”
“You so approve of Adrien getting you?”
“Blacky, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a holder use Black Hole and Cataclysm back-to-back. You used Clout like it was no big deal on your first try. If it doesn’t work, I’ll convince him to give me back.”
“Ok. Ok, I need to talk to Luka but…I think this is what we’ll do. I mean it when I say I like being your holder.”
“Like you too Blacky. You’re pretty awesome.”

“Thanks for walking me home. Sorry mama isn’t back for you to use the embassy car.” Adrien said as he and Luka stood in front of his apartment building.
“I don’t mind. I’m glad you joined us. And hey, the girls weren’t too overly affectionate to make it awkward.”
“I think we’re just used to their level of affection.” Adrien pointed out, making Luka laugh. He looked at his feet, his sneakers scoffing the floor before he took a breath and blurted out, “Do you wanna go out? Like on a date?”
Luka looked surprised before his face softened, the smile on his face planting hope. “I’d love to.”
“Really?” Luka nodded, his smile growing. “Ok, awesome. Um, I’ll text you the plans?”
“Sure. I’ve got to go, ok?” Luka stepped forward and pressed a soft kiss on Adrien’s cheek. “I’ll see you soon?”
“Yeah, bye.” Adrien said breathless. He stumbled back and waved, Luka still smiling and waving before he turned and went inside. Once he was inside the building, he let out an elated scream, jumping around and giggling. He noticed Luka was still outside and he seemed to be laughing. He didn’t care. Luka agreed to go on a date with him!
He was still riding a high as he entered the apartment and went into his room. He hung up his mini bag on the hook near his door as he turned on the light. He walked over to his desk to grab the remote for his string lights that hung in the window behind his curtains when he noticed a box. A very familiar box in black and red. He picked it up and looked around, seeing no heroes in spotted red and black or purple. He opened it, seeing the silver of the Cat Miraculous before it was taken over by a ball of black light.
