Women in Mahabharata - Adrishyanti
She is the wife of Shakthri (Vashishtha's son), and the mother of Parashara. Vyasa, the author of the epic, is her grandson. Her name translates literally to 'the invisible one'.
When Shakthri is killed by Kalmashpada, she silently raises Parashara alone for twelve years, protecting and educating him all while mother and son follow Vashishtha around when the latter struggles to deal with his son's untimely death.
