The adungu is a traditional instrument played by the Alur people of northwestern Uganda. It is an arched harp with seven or more sings and can be played as an accompaniment to vocals or as part of an ensemble.
These days, its sound is used for a number of different purposes, including as entertainment in night clubs. James Makubuya is a particularly prominent adungu player.
