If you ever need another reason to work at a library, some libraries (like mine) get advanced copies of new books.
I'm reading one called Connections that I haven't been able to put down (you can read it two ways and get completely different stories).
We also get access to new material first and get first dibs on discarded materials (movies, books, video games, etc).
