When Barr Lake freezes over, the bald eagles will scavenge at the wild life refuge to make it through the winter. Here’s one carefully scanning the grounds to find it’s next meal.
Imagine having a 15 lb golden eagle on your arm with a wing span of 2-3 ft! Many of the falconers in Kazakhstan use golden eagles to hunt small game, wolves and even native gazelles.
