So I was just rewatching 03x11 and realized how the show is slowly but surely establishing everyone’s future plans. Nancy’s was pretty overt, she wanted to study investigative journalism but now wants to grow where she has been planted, i.e Horse Shoe Bay. Nick established the Youth Center and bought the claw, hence giving himself a path, however temporary or permanent it might be. Bess is researching her family and enhancing her magical abilities, probably becoming a full fleged Woman in White and a witch (?). George wanted to be a Lawyer and Carson seems to have given her the push needed for her to consider it as an actual option. And of course, Ace’s interest in Forensics and medical sciences have been slowly developing since the very first season.
So, it just got me thinking, the show although happening over a mere few months, is laying down roots for the future. Maybe preparing for a time jump? But underlying motives aside, I just love the attention they put into it. Like it shows they are still teens figuring things out. It shows that they still have an entire life to plan for. That their actions can’t forever be shortsighted.
