Jennie’s limited pool of potential gamers has been rapidly decreasing since the death of her mother. When she had first gotten the news of her mother’s death, she had been ecstatic both because that means that her sister is back in town, and also because it means the bitch is finally gone forever. But even then, through the haze of euphoria, a small bud of worry had sprouted in her heart. Now, weeks after her mother’s death and after the initial euphoria has dissipated, the feeling of worry only amplifies, and she’s left scrambling through old footages of police security cameras that star her mother, revisiting the archives of everything little thing her mother was suspected to be involved in, and doing everything under the Sun in hopes of gathering more candidates for her games.
A week of no sleep and uncountable energy drinks later, she finally finds the first candidate that she’s missed the first time round. He won’t get away so easily now, she thinks.
The interaction between him and her mother is brief and does not occur often enough to be considered regular, but Jennie’s desperate and at this point, she’s willing to kill anyone to feed her addiction. And so a wicked smile is painted on her pink lips when she sees his face on the old archives of security footage, and her slim fingers reach out to caress the image of him on the screen.
(It’s a pity she has to kill him, considering he’s basically her saving grace.)
And so the stalking begins.
Gloss the colour of blood red is smeared on her lips, a mascara brush coating her long eyelashes in midnight, and powder a few shades darker than her natural skin tone is blended under her cheekbones, effectively giving her face a more defined structure. Jennie’s going all out for this, which shows just how desperate she is to lure this Jaehyun character in. Her lips stretch into a sly grin, showing a hint of pearly whites as she does so, as she fully appreciates herself in the mirror.
Unlike her usual childish hopping towards her destination, tonight, Jennie walks with confidence and gains strength in the thump of her heels on the pavement. Desperate as she is, she takes her time to get to the uppity café he frequents, because judging from said location, he seems to be the type to like his men or women more… mature. Although it’s nothing like her usually joyful—often denoted as childish—personality, you’d have to remember that Jennie can rewire her personality to suit her needs, so today she tries something different for a change.
(She doesn’t usually do this in any occasion, but it just goes to show how much she needs this.)
When Jennie finally arrives at the café, she gently pushes the door open and upon entrance, scans the room for him. Her eyes locate him quickly, and she takes a deep breath before approaching where he sits in the bar. Taking the seat next to him, she nonchalantly orders a gin and tonic. She waits a few beats—one, two, three—after the bartender’s left to make her drink, and then she lets out the sigh she’s been holding in for what seems like a week ago, since she’s started her manhunt for this candidate. And then very slightly, she turns her head towards his direction, though she doesn’t give him a full glance—just angles her head enough to catch him in her peripherals, and so he knows she’s talking to him.
