It’s the Aeldradain Island! A closer look at all the different parts is under the cut!
This swampy area is home to the Aelverlyn tribe, those with water-based powers. The river there that’s named, that’s the River Cieldyr, named after the pirate goddess.
The Wyrinai, tribe of the air, loves the mountains, and this is where they’ve taken to living. You’ll notice the trade routes (dotted lines) cut over the mountains on the east instead of going through the Kyrfeil Pass. That’s because the cave-looking thing there, Fyrkil, is basically a sort of “access” to the underground tribe of criminals. A lot of attacks happen in that area, so the traders tend to take the more difficult route to avoid it, or go the long way around through Aesynian lands.
Uezrai, that city there by the lake, is a big trade city, especially to the Aesynians and the city of Loerania. They’re very isolated so that central city is important.
The Teiorra tribe has settled largely in the northeast, where the land is fertile and great for farming. At least part of that area is probably kind foresty but I haven’t gotten that far yet.
The Kaehmysians have settled in the Muurlands, the flatlands there. That trade city there is another big one, since it’s in such a flat and central area. The unnamed river there is sometimes used for travel and trade, though it runs near Kyrfeil pass, so again they try to avoid it.
Aesynians, masters of light and shadow, have settled in that nice little spot in the Northeast. The skies are typically clear in this area, especially at night.
Another view of the Wyrinaisan valley. The cloud-looking thing near the bottom left is a forest.
The Leirowyn are down south. It’s a good area to be--they have some major trade cities on both sides, and some places to get materials from for all their crafts and creations.
Of course the tribes don’t necessarily stick to their own areas, so it’s all fairly chill and doesn’t matter that much. This map was more for my own personal reference and I kind of like it, despite how bad it looks in places.
I think I’d like to be a background character I never talk about, Juenia. She’s one of Cainnhyr’s best friends, and she is Keahmysan. She runs an inn, she doesn’t travel but loves hearing stories about Cainnhyr’s adventures.
