He certainly wasn’t expecting to wake up to blissful, sweet kisses from his darling s/o.

He felt the light feathery brush your lips softly against his own, then his cheek, his neck, his forehead….

and his eyes slowly flutter open with a warm smile.

Aepper stares at you with adoration as you smile back, he gently cups your cheek and bring himself up to kiss your cheek as well.

He looks dazed yet focus on the features of your face, carefully making sure he takes in every detail of you, pushing a hair behind you ear and kisses your other cheek.

Finally, he looks at you brightly with a hand covering yours.

You pouted at the sight of the mute peppermint boy pacing around his little workspace, focusing on documents and everything else that Crowley gave him except for you.

Honestly, he wasn't usually like this.

Often, he would successfully find time for the both of you to just relax and spend what's left of the day. Right now, he's far too busy for that, and you understand that he's very diligent to get thing done but...

"Aeppermint."

The boy looked up and blinked at you when you called his name, an indication of him being baffled.

"It's almost 1 am, you're supposed to be sleeping."

Aepper sighed, shaking his head. With the palm of his hand, and white speech bubble that was all too familiar materialized from air.

(I have to finish all this work, s/o, I apologize. Why not you sleep first? You shouldn't be up this late.)

"Aepper, you goddamn hypocrite..." you mumbled under your breath, as Aepper frowned a bit.

You grab a hold of his hand, knowing he wouldn't use force on you to try and escape, he wanted to anchor his feet down to the ground to freeze you in place, but he just couldn't with a force stronger inside him that said "no".

He groaned quietly.

Pushing him down on the bed, you placed your hands in an akimbo, trying to glare at him.

"Sleep. Now."

Aepper looked unimpressed, his head sunk into the pillow as he frowned and pouted slightly by your adamance.

(Fine, if you want to assert that...)

In a flash, he locked his legs around your waist, securing you in his grasp as he used the to pull you down. The boy grabbed ahold of your wrists, switching your positions as you found yourself on the same pillow he rested on, with him on top of you, pinning your wrists against the mattress.

He smirks.

(Then you sleep first.)

He let go, satisfied with the blush that formed on your face.

"You-! Argh!" You wrapped your hands around his neck, forcing him down to crash his lips into yours, he smiled against your lips as he gently pressed your head to kiss you deeper.

You backed away, panting slightly as you irked upon seeing he didn't even break a sweat.

"Goddamn brat."

With the crickets chirping in the night, the sound of shoes clicking the concrete ground was like rain falling fast to the floor. With the door creaking, a certain peppermint boy peeped into Ramshackle before quietly closing the door behind.

Eyeing the ghosts roaming around through the air, he nodded them a greeting when they met eye contact before making his way to the lounge which there, he met you curled on the couch sleeping soundly with Grim by your side.

Aepper smiles softly.

How long has it been since being gone from vacation, after Crowley had deprived him of free time due to all the work he has been given, the situations of overblots swirling around NRC, or just... the confidential and personal matters he didn’t want you stirred into.

He felt a bit guilty of wanting to spend his small vacation alone (because it was just going to Harveston and you’ve already been there before-), but seeing you insisting that it was okay with that bright smile of yours... he left feeling more energetic than before.

Now that he has finally returned (because Honey is lazy and just got into TreYuuAceAzul oh my fcking god it’s been 6 months-), Aepper was so happy to see you safe with Grim.

He kneels down to your face, feeling comforted by your soft snoring and Grim’s yawn. Aepper laid his palm on your head as he allowed his fingers to be gently entangled in your hair, focusing on the way your hair curled in his fingers, the way your hair shimmered under the dimming lights of the candle flames surrounding you.

The sight of your sleeping form made Aepper at ease. As he slowly moved closer to you, he softly kisses your hair, pulling away and ruffles your hair a bit.

The mute boy lightly scoffs.

I’m back.
