The room is quiet and dim in that early morning way that feels earned, delicate, not accidental. Light slips in through the edge of the curtain instead of barging through it, dust motes floating lazily where it lands. Everything smells faintly like Steve, clean laundry, soap, (probably due to the laundry you both got too distracted to finish last night) but there is also something warmer underneath that you don’t have a word for yet. Something smoky, something him. The world outside the bedroom feels distant, unreal, like it’s been muted on purpose.
You’re tucked against him, pressed against his side and half sprawled across his chest, your cheek resting just below his collarbone and above his heart. His arm is heavy around your back, it wasn’t pinning you down, God, Steve never pinned you down. He held you, his arm was just there solid, warm, grounding.
Your body still feels loose in that post-sleep, post-everything haze, limbs uncoordinated, thoughts slow and drifting. There’s a faint ache in your limbs, not unpleasant, just the quiet reminder that you’re real, that last night actually happened.
You’re not fully awake, you are not fully anything. Not tired, just in between dream and reality where everything feels a little better. Or maybe that's just Steve.
Steve breathes beneath you, steady and deep. Every inhale lifts you slightly and every exhale lets you settle back into him. You can hear his heart if you focus, the quiet rhythm of it, the proof that he’s really here. That this isn’t something you imagined in the half-dream state where reality and want blur together. You wouldn’t be surprised if it was.
You shift just a little, careful not to wake him, though part of you isn’t sure whether you want to or not. The sheet slides down his chest as you move, pooling at his waist. Your fingers rest there absentmindedly, tracing nothing in particular, just following the rise and fall beneath your palm.
Your fingers splay idly across his chest, the soft rasp of hair beneath your palm. It’s darker there, thicker toward the center, not perfectly even, curling slightly in places and there’s something grounding about it, the way it makes his chest feel lived-in rather than polished. Your fingers drift lower without thinking, following the faint line that disappears beneath the sheet, that narrow trail like an arrow pointing somewhere you consciously do not follow. Still, the knowledge of it sits warm in your chest, intimate in a way that has nothing to do with urgency or lust. You press your lips briefly into the space just above it instead, breathing him in, feeling absurdly fond of the fact that he’s real like this, hair and all, uncurated, unguarded, entirely himself.
That’s when you really notice them.
His beauty marks. They’re scattered across his skin in a way that feels intentional, like someone dotted them there thoughtfully and then stepped back to admire the work, but they are also something so simple that they look like they were there by pure happenstance, a reverent thing. He was so beautiful.
There were a few near his shoulder, one just above his sternum, another lower, closer to where your hand rests now. You’ve seen them before, noticed them without really seeing them, but now, in the quiet soft cushion of your shared bedroom, they feel important. Like something you want to learn, something you want to worship and appreciate.
You lift yourself slightly, just enough to look at him properly. Steve’s face is turned toward you, lashes resting dark against his cheeks, mouth relaxed in sleep. He looks younger like this. Softer. Nothing like the version of him the world usually sees, the confident one, the joking one, the one who fills space without trying. This Steve feels like a secret, and you are so, so lucky you get to see him like this. Your sweet, sweet boyfriend.
You don’t think about it before you do it. You just lean down, press a gentle kiss to the first beauty mark near his shoulder. It’s barely there, more intention than pressure, your lips lingering for half a second longer than necessary.
Steve shifts beneath you, brow twitching faintly, a quiet sound leaving him, somewhere between a sigh and a breath. You smile to yourself, small and private, and move to the next one.
You kiss another.
And another.
Your kisses are slow, deliberate. Not rushed. Not playful. Each one feels like punctuation, soft markers of attention, of care. You follow them the way your eyes want to, tracing a lazy path downward and then back up, your lips warm against his skin. There’s something grounding about it, about following these tiny markers across his skin, about paying attention in a way that feels almost devout. Each kiss is gentle, unhurried, like you’re afraid of breaking the moment if you rush it. You’re aware, distantly, of how intimate it is. Not in a way that makes your heart race, but in the quieter way that makes your chest feel full. Like this, this is something sacred in its own right.
You move slowly, your lips tracing an uneven path upward. Steve breathes in deeper when you kiss just below his neck, his arm tightening slightly around you, instinctive. His fingers curl into the fabric of his your shirt at your back, grounding himself as he wakes.
“Hey,” he murmurs, voice rough and barely there.
You freeze, lifting your head just enough to see his eyes flutter open. He looks at you for a second like he’s still deciding which reality he’s in. Then his mouth curves into a lazy, familiar smile.
“Morning,” you whisper.
He hums in response, eyes closing again as if that’s all the confirmation he needs, basking in the warmth of your love. “You’re very quiet,” he says, words slurring slightly.
“I didn’t want to wake you.”
“Too late,” he mumbles, but there’s no complaint in it. His hand slips under the shirt where his thumb rubs slow circles against your back. “What’re you doing?”
You hesitate, suddenly self-aware, heat creeping up your neck at the intimacy, taking its place and settling on your cheeks. Steve’s mouth parts, you’re just so gorgeous, he loves waking up to you.
You shrug lightly and hum. “Noticing things.”
He opens one eye, squinting at you. “That sounds ominous.”
You huff softly and lean back down, pressing another kiss to his chest. “You have a lot of beauty marks.” you say simply.
Steve lets out a quiet laugh, chest vibrating beneath your cheek. “Wow. Thank you. I was really hoping you’d bring that up.”
“They’re pretty,” you add, frowning slightly because his tone sounded awfully like self-abasement, and because you are trying to find the right word for how deeply the affection for them runs in you. “You’re pretty, Stevie”
His laughter fades into something softer. You feel him shift beneath you, adjusting so you’re more comfortable, his hand sliding up to cradle the back of your neck.
“I love you,” he says gently.
“I know,” you reply just as softly. “I love you too.”
There's a moment of just appreciation, looking at him and being so permeated with love. The pause is long, long enough that you wonder if he’s going to fall back asleep. He watches you lean down again, watches you kiss another small mark near his collarbone like it’s something precious. His throat bobs when you move higher, when your lips brush the skin just below his neck again.
Steve’s breathing changes, still calm, but deeper now, more aware. His fingers tighten just slightly where they rest against you, like he’s anchoring himself to the moment. You don’t notice at first. You’re focused on the next small mark, on the warmth beneath your lips. It’s only when his fingers brush the side of your neck, gentle, grounding, that you look up meeting his eyes. He’s watching you like he’s not entirely sure what to do with the feeling.
“What?” you ask softly.
He shakes his head, barely perceptible. “Nothing.”
He goes quiet after that, eyes slipping closed again, trusting you not to disappear. You kiss your way slowly upward, pausing occasionally just to rest your cheek against him, to feel his warmth seep into you. There’s no urgency. No need to prove anything. Just the quiet certainty of being wanted and wanting in return.
When you reach near his lip, you hesitate, pressing a kiss there that lingers. Steve exhales shakily. You kiss the last beauty mark on his cheek and then pause, deciding to rest your cheek against his chest again. His heartbeat is steady beneath your ear. Fast enough to be noticeable.
A minute passes. Maybe more.
“You’re awake now.” you say quietly.
“Mm,” he hums. “Was anyway.”
Your chest tightens, uncomfortable with sudden shyness and warm all at once. You don’t respond right away, there’s another stretch of silence. Comfortable. Real. The kind that doesn’t need filling. So instead, you press one last kiss just below his jaw, then settle back against him, tucking yourself into the space you seem to fit perfectly.
You nod, even though he can’t see it. “Okay.”
Steve shifts slightly, adjusting so you’re more comfortable, his arm tightening fully around you now. He presses his chin briefly against the top of your head, not quite a kiss, just contact, breathing you in.
“You okay?” he asks.
You think about it. Really think. Because you realise that this is all you’ve ever wanted.
“Yeah,” you say. Then, after a moment, “I love you.”
“Good. Because I love you too.”
Outside, a car passes. Somewhere down the street, a dog barks. The world starts to wake up again. But for now, you stay exactly where you are, neither of you move, for once, you don’t feel the need to go anywhere else. You stay there, listening to him breathe, feeling the warmth of him seep into you. You are so loved, and you love him so much in return, and that feels like enough.

The world stopped turning for Leona the moment you left.
Graduating from NRC was supposed to be the start of the rest of his life, a life he had hoped to share with you. Even now — a whole year since your departure — Leona is still learning to learn to live without you. He hates the emptiness in his bed and the silence that permeates in your absence, but he's grown accustomed to it with time. Unfortunately, life goes on and so must he.
Leona curses himself for getting so attached in the first place. Deep down, he always knew that you'd one day go back to your world, but he hoped — he even prayed to the Seven — that you'd choose him. He never dared to ask you to stay in Twisted Wonderland just for him, but for once in his life he wanted to be someone — anyone's — first choice.
Unfortunately, Leona is cursed to forever be stuck in second place.
You loved Leona. Hell, you still love him a year later and from a whole other world. When it came to deciding between staying with him and going home, you were initially very torn. He was never second to you. In fact, you nearly stayed in Twisted Wonderland for him and him alone.
It was at Leona's urging that you made the difficult decision to go home. In hindsight, you realize that this was a test of sorts, a way for him to gauge just how important he truly was to you. So, when you chose your old life over the one you stood to build with Leona, that showed him just how much he truly mattered to you.
Leona still replays your last conversation over and over in his head on repeat. He wishes he wasn't so stupid then. He wishes he'd fought harder. He wishes he didn't let his own insecurities become the straw that broke the camel's back and sent you running back to your world. To be honest, Leona wishes he could go back and do that final conversation over differently.
"I'm leaving."
"Alright."
…
"That's it?"
"Yeah, you made your choice. If you're looking for me to beg you to stay, then you're outta luck."
"So you're really fine with this?"
"You're your own woman, I can't tell you what to do, (y/n)."
"Yeah, but you can at least act like you want me to stay!"
"What use would that do? You've already made up your mind, so why waste the effort of trying to convince you otherwise?"
"So I'm not worth your effort, then?"
"That's not what I said. Don't put words in my mouth, herbivore."
"You know what? Fine, whatever. I hope you have a good life, Leona."
"Yeah, you too."
And with that, you were gone.
You regretted your decision the moment you stepped through the dark mirror and back into your world. You grappled with those feelings of guilt and longing for the first week or so, but eventually it became too much. You were happy to be back, but the sadness of what you left behind overwhelmed any positive feelings there might have been.
So, you started looking for a way back.
It wasn't easy to find what you were looking for — ancient tomes on magic aren't exactly accessible in a magicless world — but you managed. By the time you'd finally found a way to return to Twisted Wonderland, a year had passed. Ironically — or maybe, poetically — you finally made your return to Twisted Wonderland on the anniversary of your departure.
This time, you didn't struggle with your decision. This time, Leona was your number one.
It took a lot of calls and cashed in favors for you to finally make your way to the capital city of Sunset Savanna. Ruggie — still working as an aide to Leona — was the one to get you into the royal palace, which you were surprisingly welcome in. You were met with hugs from Cheka — who'd grown more than you'd expected during your absence — as well as Falena and his wife, who were eager to have you drag their brother out of his year-long depression.
Leona was the last one you saw.
You found him in his bed, which is by no means surprising. Leona didn't dare lift his head when you entered. He didn't dare believe it was truly you. He tried to play it off as a trick of the mind, that he was merely imagining your scent and hallucinating the dip in the bed when you sat next down behind him. For a whole year, Leona wished for exactly this, but he just can't bring himself to believe that this time, you chose him.
"Leona." His ears twitch at the soft call of his name. He tells himself that your voice is just a mimicry conjured up by his grief-stricken mind, but all that goes out the window the moment your hand comes to affectionately glide up and down his back — just like you used to do before you left him behind.
"I know you're awake, Leona." Maybe if he ignores you, you'll go away. A part of Leona wants to be that petty, but he wants nothing more than to roll over, pull you into his arms, and never let you go. Unfortunately, he's far too proud and far too mad at you for leaving in the first place to actually do so.
"I know you're probably mad at me, and I don't blame you for that. If I were you, I wouldn't forgive me either." Leona stays silent, burying his face in his pillows to hide the tears that begin to sting his eyes. He's spent far too many hours over the last year crying over you that he was sure he didn't have any more left to shed, yet here he is crying over you yet again.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for leaving. I'm sorry for making you feel like I didn't love you, that you weren't worth leaving my old life behind. I regret it all, and I'm so, so sorry for hurting you, Leona." Your voice starts to waver as your own tears start to fall. Without warning, you collapse into Leona, practically draping yourself across his back as you cry into the fabric of his shirt.
That's when he finally turns around.
"I thought you were gone for good." The statement comes out strained, as though it's taking every ounce of restraint for Leona to fight back his tears, which it most certainly is. You can't see his face from where it's buried against the curve of your neck, but it's obvious that he's just as torn up about all this as you are.
Honestly, you expected Leona to curse you out the moment he laid eyes on you, and you wouldn't blame him for it if he did. You wouldn't blame him if he hated you, because you sure as hell hate yourself for hurting him the way you did. Still, you're glad he hasn't kicked you out yet.
"I thought I was too, but I'm back now. I shouldn't have ever left."
"But you did. You did leave, and now you think you can just come waltzing back into my life like you didn't tear it to shreds."
It's Leona's turn to soak your shirt with his tears. His hands clutch at the fabric like it's the only thing keeping you tethered to this world, like you'll be gone again the moment he loosened his grip even a fraction. Leona can't let you go, not again.
"I know I was wrong, and I know I hurt you. I can't take away what I did or the pain I caused, but I'm willing to make up for it. I wouldn't have come back if I didn't want this, if I didn't want you." A sad, humorless chuckle passed Leona's lips between the tears. He wants to believe you, he wants to welcome you back into his life and move on from all that, but he can't.
What's stopping you from leaving again?
What's stopping you from getting Leona's hopes up just to dash them once more?
What's stopping you from going home the moment you decide Leona isn't worth the effort?
"I love you. I never stopped loving you and I realized that a life without you is so much worse than one with you in it. I was wrong, so wrong. If you still want this, if you still want me, then I'll do everything in my power to rectify the mistake I made. If you want nothing to do with me, then I'll leave, and you'll never hear from me again. I made the wrong choice before, so this one is all yours."
Much like you one year ago on this very day, Leona finds himself torn between two choices. Does he start the life with you that he's been yearing for this whole time? Or does he send you back home to face the same pain and rejection he felt when you turned your back on him?
Leona could never have imagined the conflicting feelings you went through when you made your decision to leave, but now he does. It's a terrible feeling, one that makes his mouth go dry and his stomach twist into a tight knot. It takes a long time and a lot of silence, but finally, Leona makes his choice.
"I still love you too. Even though you hurt me, even though you made me feel worthless, even though this last year has been miserable without you — I still love you, (y/n)."
"Leona, I—"
"No, just… let me speak."
You nod, silently signaling for him to continue.
"I want you here. I want you with me, but I'm… I'm scared. I'm so scared that you'll just leave, and I don't think I can't handle if you take off again."
Leona lifts his head, finally meeting your eyes for the first time in a year. He looks like hell, but you still manage to find him stunning even in this disheveled state. Without thinking, you reach up to take his face between your hands. At first, he flinches at the touch, but he just as quickly nuzzles into you like a kitten desperate and needy for affection.
"You know I'm too proud to beg, but this time I will. Please, (y/n), please don't hurt me again."
"I won't, I promise I won't, Leona, and I hate myself for ever hurting you in the first place."
"You can make it up to me staring now. C'mere, lemme hold you. I hate to admit it, but I haven't been able to sleep without you next to me." You let yourself get pulled down into Leona's chest as he rolls back onto his bed. Your body moves on instinct, curling into him and resting your head on his chest just like you used to during your NRC days.
"I'm sorry."
"I know, you've made that clear, so you don't have to keep saying it."
"Yeah, but I definitely owe you, like, a million apologies for what I did."
"Well, you don't have to apologize with words. Just let your actions do the apologizin', yeah?"
"Sounds like an elaborate excuse for you to get me to shut up and cuddle you."
"Ehh, I have no idea what you're talkin' about, herbivore. Now, shut up and cuddle me."
All that crying must have really drained both you and Leona because the two of you fall asleep not long after you settle down in his bed. For the first time in a year, both of you are able to fall asleep in each other's embrace, and it's truly a wonderful feeling. From this day on, you'll stay right here in Leona's arms where you belong.
The road moving forward won't be easy — both of you know this — but that's a problem for later. You'll do your best to make it up to Leona, and he'll do his best to learn to trust you again. It won't be easy, but it's worth it if it means making this relationship work, and both of you want that more than anything.
Finally, Leona's world begins to turn once more — this time, with you in it.
You're getting ready to sleep out the storm when a broken window leads Enid and Wednesday to seek refuge in your dorm.
Hi! Hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Let me know what you think. ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ Unfortunatly, for me, I may not be able to watch the second half of the second season for a few days, so I can't read fics right now ˊᴖˋ
I’m taking requests for any Wenclair x OC/Reader pairing combination and maybe others. I want to have more writting practice.
The strom had rolled in like the heavens had some long held grudge against Nevermore. The rain hammered loudly against the stone walls and the thunder rattled the windows.
You’d just settled yourself in your comfortable nest of soft blankets when a pounding sounded at your door nearly making you jump out of your own bones.
You reluctantly left the safe warmth of your bed, but before you could open the door Enid shoved it open and bounced inside with a perkiness that did not match both the late hour and the weather.
“Emergency! Our dorm window is completely busted, the wind is like, totally howling straight through the room. It's way too cold.”
Wednesday followed shortly after her. Much more composed and easier to understand. “The draft is unbearable, and not in a pleasant way. Your room is much more suitable.”
You blinked at them, your eyes moving from them to the only bed in the room. Yours. “My room is a single.”
Enid grinned up at you as she plopped herself down on your bed, messing up the carefully arranged blankets. “Guess we’ll be warm and cozy.” You couldn’t bring yourself to be mad at her for disturbing the comfy spot you’d made..
“I’ll take the floor.” Wednesday chimed in, moving one of the blankets from your bed onto the floor.
“Nuh-huh, we all take the bed.” There was a look shared between them, a conversation you weren’t privy to but had been wishing to be for weeks. Enid seemed to have won whatever discourse they were having and Wednesday picked the blanket back up and replaced it on the bed. She did however swap out your yellow pillow with the black one she had brought,
That is how you ended up pretty much sacked between a very jittery werewolf and a very corpse like Addams on your slightly larger than the school issued, but still more narrow than it should be to comfortably fit three people, mattress whilst the storm still raged outside.
Both you and Wednesday lay on your backs whilst Enid curled herself against your arm. You’d lost the battle on who would be squished in the middle in your own bed. Not that you fought very hard. You barely fought at all, one glare from the Raven and a pout from the Wolf had you climbing into the middle like a well behaving pup. And you weren’t even the werewolf in the room.
“Seriously, that lightning was way too close. What if the entire roof caves in?”
Wednesday’s response was steady, she almost sounded bored. Then again, she almost always sounded bored. “That could be a very swift end. Or we could end up trapped for days only to die of either starvation or dehydration. Perhaps suffocation.”
“Wednesday!” Enid groaned, reaching over you to lightly smack at her shoulder. “Don’t make it worse.”
You laughed, you couldn’t help it, their interactions were always one of your favorite things to witness. Both of them went quiet when you did, all their attention focused on you. Enid’s eyes were bright and warm, Wednesday’s dark and intense.
Your heart jumped. “What?” You mumbled now feeling a bit self-conscious.
“Nothing. It’s just…” Enid stopped, hesitating.
“It’s either nothing, or it’s just something. Can’t be both.” You teased her.
“Your laugh is cute is all.” She mutters lowly.
Wednesday was still focused on you and neither of them missed it when your cheeks warmed up. “Enid is not… incorrect.”
The room fell into a thick silence. Compliments from Enid, as common as they were, still make your heart race, but one from Wednesday? That was incredibly rare and left you speechless.
Enid took advantage of the silence, and leaned in and kissed you. It was soft, quick and incredibly sweet. Exactly what you had expected but somehow even better than you had let yourself imagine in the quiet, lonely hours of the night.
Before you could recover and consider the consequences of what had just happened. Being kissed by your friend in front of your other friend who happened to be her touch homicidal jealous girlfriend who you'd seen punish others for lesser infractions. Said girlfriend’s cooler hand found your jaw and turned you to her.
“I don’t often act on impulse, you know?” She said with a quiet intensity. “But I will not waste this moment.”
Her kiss was firmer and certain, and left you just as breathless. By the time she pulled back Enid was grinning like she’d just won the lottery.
“That was hot,” she said.
“Go to bed.” Wednesday replied, positioning herself to go to sleep with her arms crossed across her chest. Enid stuck her tongue out at her and settled herself against your arm again, making herself comfortable and sighing.
“Well, goodnight? I guess?” There is a low chuckle from Enid and a hum from Wednesday.
By the time morning came around you insisted on accompanying them to their room, wanting to help with any potential clean up. However when you made your way into the room the notorious round split window stood there, perfectly intact and as you got closer to it you couldn’t even spot a single crack.
You shook your head in exasperation, smiling despite yourself. “Wow, this is the worst case of a broken window I’ve ever seen. However, shall we fix it?”
Enid chimed in from behind you. “Whoops! Um, it must have fixed itself overnight!
“Lying is a skill she clearly excels at.” Wednesday said as she moved towards her desk.
You laughed again, the sound bringing a smile to Enid’s face, and if anyone asked whilst you were grinning all morning. Well the lovely weather the previous night was as good an excuse as possible.
Alastor Yandere with a Gen Z reader. Initially, Alastor didn't like the reader, but he began to develop feelings for her, and the reader likes to tease him by calling him "Old Man"… Could Alastor have conflicting feelings because, even in hell, with the same age at the time of death, they are from completely different decades? What if the reader didn't care about her appearance, always wearing cute pajamas, baggy pants, and coats that hide her body…? What if the reader had a terrible diet, always eating sweets, junk food, and lots of soda?
A/N This seems like fun. I have a final scene planned out already just from reading the request. Also I feel like this reader ur asking for has the same energy as the reader character I did in Loving You (Alastor x Gn!Reader)
Addict (Yandere!Alastor x Gen Z!Reader)
Pairing: Alastor x Reader
Warnings: Mentions of suicidal ideation and self harm. I think that is it but please correct me if I missed something.

Alastor was not a man who could easily be irritated but Y/n? It was like someone had created her specifically to get on his nerves.
She was wild. Unrefined and untamed. If ever a sinners form had been so perfect, it was Y/n's for what was she if not raised by wolves? What was she if not a wolf herself?
Long, sharp teeth. Keen, perceptive eyes and a smile that'd make you run for the hills. She was all bite, it was like there was nothing else sometimes.
"What are you lookin' at, old man?" that had been the first thing she ever said to him.
For all Alastor's grace, for all his necessary perfection, there was Y/n. She was the chaos to his calm, all fight. All rage and curiosity and protection. Gods, did he want her.
"What are you lookin' at, old man?"
Alastor watched. He gathered information.
Angel was the first to fall to her charms. Both born and raised in Brooklyn, the decades did not seem to matter. Home was home and for one another? They were home.
To Y/n, Angel seemed to be a remnant of her family, of the people she had grown up with. Apparently, though they had lived in such different times, when it came to people who were actually from the borough and hadn't just moved there from the midwest? Nothing had changed.
For Angel, Y/n was a treasure. She was something small and worthy of protection. It did not matter that she was more than capable of fending for herself, what did matter was that she could have been his younger sister. His niece or grandchild for all the spider demon knew.
That was not the only thing connecting the two demons, however. There was more than that.
Angel? Hell's most famous porn star? His soul was owned by Valentino. He worked for the Vees and Y/n? Well, when she had first arrived in Hell, she had found a job at the very same establishment.
There was no contract, no soul buying involved in her position. She was merely hired, in the traditional sense. She was a consultant of sorts, as far as Alastor could gather. She had worked to advise the Vees on their precense online, she had cultivated their draw. And when they had raised the issue of her attitude? She had quit.
Y/n, the no name demon, the wolf without a pack, had quit. More than that, she had opted to work for what was essentially the other side. She had joined the Hazbin Hotel.
There was the interest drawn in the fact that she quit, she was allowed to leave. Normally, the Vees killed rather than allowing the people under their employ slip out of the grasps. So there was the spark of curiosity Alastor gained through the fact that she had worked for them and survived, that she had quit and survived, because what exactly did that say about her?
Then there was the disrespect.
"What are you lookin' at, old man."
Y/n seemed to only give respect once someone had earned it from her. When she thought someone unworthy, she made it known.
It had been in that first handful of weeks after her arrival. Alastor had just been passing through the lobby, on his way to address bigger and better things. It had just been right place right time.
Y/n, Angel, and Pentious had been seated on the couch. Well, Pentious and Angel had been sitting. Y/n was laying lazily across an arm chair in her pajamas. The trio had been watching some show when the commercial break had arrived and who but Vox, her former employer, had flashed across the screen.
"Ugh, weather boy." she had grumbled, taking a bite of her kitkat, the snap of the treat echoing in the relative silence.
Alastor had paused. He had not turned to face the group, he would never betray himself like that, but Alastor listened.
"Weather boy?" Angel repeated, turning to her with raised eyebrows.
"Yes." Y/n had nodded intently, "Derogatory."
Alastor nearly had to stifle a laugh.
"Okay..." Angel had at last replied, realizing he would receive no further explanation from the girl.
This overheard interaction had told Alastor two very important things. The first? Y/n knew Vox's past. The second? She was not his biggest fan, to say the least.
So, not only had she worked for the Vees and escaped with her life, but the Vees' own leader had trusted her enough to divulge his human past. On top of that, with all the potentially damming information she held in her hungry grasp, when she had left? When she had joined the opposing team? They had allowed her to live. Vox had allowed her to live.
The thought that she, like Sir Pentious, had been sent to the Hotel as a spy briefly crossed his mind. It was not like Y/n was an entirely unsuspicious person. Just a few days before, she had forced the Hotel's entire population into a picture.
"Come on, Old Man, you're not in frame!"
Y/n was always calling him that, old man. It did not seem to matter to her that they were technically around the same age. She had spotted his getup, seen his persona, and labeled him accordingly.
It was irritating. Every time she said it was like nails on a chalkboard to Alastor's ears, but he had a deal to make good on. As long as she was involved at the hotel, Y/n was protected. All Alastor could do was hope she really was running some sort of con or that she would quit at a harsh word from Charlie as she had seemed to do with the Vees.
That was the thing, however, her disrespect. The more Alastor watched Y/n, the more he realized the idea of her quitting was nothing more than a dream on his end, a hope that was never to be fulfilled. Y/n loved Charlie. In her mind, Charlie and Charlie alone seemed worthy of her respect as an employer.
"She treats me well." Y/n had shrugged when Vaggie had confronted her about this, "Good pay, good benefits. Also, I believe in her and her ideas. Yeah, the Vees were dicks, but that isn't why I left. I left because their business practices are unethical. They don't care about people, just money and power. I don't want to be attached to something like that. Charlie? She is all people. I love that about her."
So, a soul that had landed in Hell upon her death and cared about ethical business practices? It was not something Alastor thought too much about. It was so easy for that to be a lie, some made up excuse. Every day Y/n seemed more and more like a spy which brought Alastor back to the picture.
"Come on, Old Man, you're not in frame!"
How Y/n had pouted when he hadn't shown up in it, when his form had merely been a glitch on the paper. How she had begged him to retake it, and how Alastor had refused.
"Alright," Y/n had huffed as she walked away, "not like I wanted your fuck-ass bob looking me in the eye every day anyways."
Breaking into her room had been easy. While the guests and staff of the hotel had been out running trust exercises, he had snuck his way in using his shadows, intent on finding some evidence of her betrayle.
Y/n's room was a mess. Scattered clothes on the floor empty bags of chips on the tables type of a mess. But then, there had been that photo.
Y/n was not a spy. She did not take a picture of them to send to her Overlords, no. How Alastor knew this? Well, it was because above the bed, right next to where her head must lay at night, Y/n had tacked the little polaroid to the wall.
Above every guest she had written a name and on the white strip at the bottom?
Family.
Oh, Alastor had thought, So that is how she is.
Suddenly how Y/n had gotten to Hell in the first place was a much more interesting question. So Alastor made it his mission. The closer he got to Y/n, the more he put up with her nonsense, the closer he got to his answer.
There was just one flaw in his plan. The closer he got to Y/n, the less her nonsense seemed to truly be that. It was like this.
When Y/n had first met Husk, seeing that he was a cat demon, she had partially transformed. Her ears had grown less domesticated, her teeth somehow sharper, her tail had wagged and she had started barking at him.
"Oh, what the fuck!" Husk had exclaimed, ducking to avoid her attack.
"Uh, do cat sinners and dog sinners normally hate each other like this?" Angel had asked a very distressed Charlie as Y/n had rounded on Husk once more.
"No?" Charlie had replied, her voice thick with concern, "At least, I don't think so?"
"Well it's happening!" Husk had yelled as he clambered up onto the bar top, Y/n barking at his feet, "Are you guys gonna just keep discussing it or fucking help me!"
A sudden laughter had broken through the fear gripped group and all had watched with wide eyes as Y/n stood up, allowing her features to fade back into her more humanoid form.
"Ah!" she exclaimed, "I fuckin' got you!"
"Dude..." Angel shook his head, unable to keep the slight smile off his face.
"Not cool, man." Husk had hissed.
Y/n, catching her breath, smiled brightly up at him.
"I'm sorry." she offered, extending a hand to help him down which Husk hesitantly took, "I just couldn't resist."
As Husk found himself on solid ground once again, he shot the laughing Angel a disapproving look before fixing his attention back on Y/n.
"Well, next time, resist."
"Yeah, yeah." she waved him off, "I promise. For what its worth? I really dig your whole vibe. The aesthetic? Immaculate. I love a highly themed anything and you? Are definitely highly themed."
It was then she had turned to Alastor, surveying him carefully. He had watched her right back and Y/n had smiled.
"I severely fuck with your vibe too, Old Man." she had announced, "We love a bitch who is committed to the bit."
Nonsense it may have seemed but in reality? A calculated move, a breaking of the tension. She had seen Husk, noticed his demeanor, and realized very quickly that the best way to break down his barriers was to do it all in one go.
It was a strange tactic, but it had worked. Unlike the other members of the Hotel, Y/n never had to fight to gain Husk's friendship. It was simply already there, once she had apologized enough.
It did not take very long for the other members of the Hazbin Hotel, employees and guests alike, to come to terms with Y/n. She was always playing practical jokes, poking fun at people. This was because, they soon realized, it was how she showed love.
Strangers never got this treatment, nor did those she disliked. It was because she loved them, trusted them, that she felt comfortable running wild with them. While she could still be vaguely irritating on this front, it did endear her quite a bit.
Around the same time they realized this, Alastor realized something else as well. He could only gain so much information about the wolf demon from watching, from hiding. If he really wanted to get at her core, he was going to have to talk to her.
And talk to her he did. The little obsessive bug in his brain bit out any irritation, any annoyance. He wanted information, he needed it. He needed to understand this girl otherwise, Alastor feared, it would all come caving in.
She was a liability, he rationalized. If he couldn't understand Y/n and her motives, he couldn't control her. If he couldn't control her, who was to say what damage she could cause the hotel.
By the time he had his question answered, Alastor was hooked.
They had become quite close in the months since he had deemed her a potential threat. It was Alastor's attempt at gaining intel that had started it, but since then it had spiraled into something much more.
"Why does it matter how I lived or died?" Y/n had asked him over a drink one night, "I am here now, might as well make the best of it."
"Call it, curiosity." Alastor had replied tactfully.
Those keen eyes of hers narrowed.
"I'll trade you?" Y/n had offered at last, "You tell me yours I'll tell you mine?"
It should have made Alastor suspicious, should have made him clam up, but it didn't. Instead, his smiled simply widened because how could he complain? Once he had this final, vital piece of information, he could leave Y/n well enough alone and wasn't that what he wanted? To be over with this?
"Sure." he nodded, with no intent of actually honoring his words, "I'll tell you mine."
"Well," Y/n began, "I think my form mostly comes from how I lived. I had this group of friends, see? We were family. We grew up together, helped one another through a lot of shit. We were all hopelessly, platonically, in love with each other in one way or another and each of us was fiercely protective. Hence," Y/n gestured to herself, "the wolf. I guess they were my pack, so to speak."
"And your death?"
Y/n sighed, drinking deeply. She leaned back in her chair.
"It was stupid." she shook her head, returning her gaze to Alastor once more, "I was in this abandoned train yard with a few people, just fucking around. We were drunk, climbing shit, just having a grand old time until... well," Y/n's cheeks flushed pink, she averted her eyes, "I fell." she admitted, "It's easier to tell when I am 'fully transformed' or whatever you wanna call that shit, my bones are all wonky and bent at weird angles. But, yeah. That was me."
Alastor sat silent in thought for a moment.
There was something completely unsatisfying about her answer. He didn't know what he had expected. That Y/n had been torn to bits by dogs? That she had been a murderer? A thief?
"So why are you here?" he found himself asking and Y/n let out a rueful little laugh.
"Sometimes your own survival comes at the expense of others."
It was not the answer Alastor had been expecting. Before he could interrogate her further on the matter, Y/n spoke again.
"I'm just fucking with you." Y/n smiled, elbowing him playfully in the side, "Nah, I just was everything you're not supposed to be to get into Heaven. For one, I am not even Christian or religious and for another thing, I am bisexual. Also had suicidal ideation for years," Y/n sighed, "self harm, a whole host of other things. Anger, lots of anger. Oh! And...."
"Yes?" Alastor asked.
"I was a bit of a kleptomaniac as a kid." Y/n shrugged, "Nothing too bad and never from small businesses. Just lighters from CVS and shit like that, you know? Little things that made me feel more in control of my life. What about you?"
He was not sure why he did it, what compelled him, but, despite all his intent, Alastor told the truth.
"Mass murderer." Alastor hummed lightly, an attempt to pass the it off as a joke, "Got mistaken for a deer while burying a body."
Y/n's eyes narrowed. She watched him carefully for a moment before she broke out into peels of laughter.
"You? A mass murderer? Sure." she said once she had calmed herself down.
Y/n raised an arm, her hand coming to rest on his shoulder as she leaned in. Normally such an action would have set Alastor off, would have led him to brush off the touch at the very least. For the first time since he could remember, however, Alastor found himself enjoying the human contact.
"I'm gonna get the truth outta you eventually, Old Man."
So no, it hadn't been over. The answer had not satisfied his question because, Alastor's question hadn't really been the source of the hunger, of the wanting.
He began to test her, to try and get a reaction out of the wolf demon. He was just trying to make her angry, Alastor rationalized, to see if she was a threat in any other sense. He had confirmed Y/n was not a spy, not unless she was the best liar in all of Hell which he very much so doubted, but that didn't mean she could not harm the hotel in other ways. That her intent couldn't still be bad.
So he began to test her. He would purposefully run into her in the hallway, pretending not to have seen the smaller demon as they collided. He would use his shadows to pop into existence just behind her back.
The most Alastor ever seemed to get in return, however, was a startled gasp. A hand held to the chest. A kind smile.
"Jesus fuck!" Y/n would exclaim and then, realizing it was him, she would catch her breath.
Her hand would lower.
"Al," she would happily exclaim, "what the fuck!"
Then, one time, she had put a hand to his face.
"Ya gotta stop, Old Man." she had announced, shaking him slightly as she caressed his cheek, "You're gonna give me a heart attack."
After that? Well, Alastor would never admit his true goals to anyone, not even to himself.
A hand on the shoulder here, a grabbing of her waist to pull Y/n back from some precipice there. A pat on the head.
"What the fuck?" Alastor overheard Angel exclaim once as he exited the room, having trailed his fingers across Y/n's back as he left.
"What d'ya mean?" Y/n had hummed, the bag of chips in her lap rustling as she reached for another.
"Uh, what was that?"
"Dunno, isn't he always like that?"
"Y/n, you are the only person I have ever seen that strawberry pimp touch willingly. Ever."
Alastor had hesitated, listening, waiting for her reply.
"I don't know." Y/n mumbled in response at last, "That's just how I am. I'm touchy, you know that. He's probably just acclimating to me because he is a nice guy."
"Uh-huh. Sure." had come Angel's unconvinced reply.
For all their glistening days of glory, the peace had to come to an end sometime. There had always been the overarching threat of extermination, of the angels. Now it was finally here.
They were attacking tomorrow, targeting the hotel specifically. There was a plan. Alastor and Y/n had helped Charlie create troops and then rally them, but that did not mean there was no fear in the air as they gathered in the lobby for what might be their final night together.
Alastor watched. He watched as everyone hyped Pentious up, trying to give the snake the confidence he needed to confess his feelings to Cherri Bomb. He watched as Y/n, Angel, and Cherri did shots at the bar, as Y/n wrapped a comforting arm around Charlie, as she picked Nifty up and placed her on her shoulder so the little demon could better watch what was going on around them.
He watched as Y/n smiled to Husk, calling something to him over her shoulder as she headed off, at long last, to bed. Her exact words were lost in the cacophony but whatever she had said had made Husk smile too as he shook his head. It seemed the wolf had even been able to win over the grouchiest of the crew.
Using his shadows, Alastor stopped her in the hallway.
"Yeah?" Y/n yawned.
"Just making sure you won't show up to the battle tomorrow in your pajamas." Alastor teased, his heart thundering dangerously within his chest.
"Hey! Rude." Y/n crossed her arms, "But yeah, I know. I wont. If I love anything, I love a theme and what is tomorrow if not highly themed?"
"Off to bed now."
Y/n scoffed, raising her eyebrows.
"Not your kid, Old Man."
"Then stop calling me 'Old Man.' I am only a few years older than you." Alastor explained for what felt like the millionth time.
He did not know why it bothered him so much. The nickname of sorts was, on the one hand, endearing but at the same time, he hated the implication.
"A few hundred years." Y/n teased.
Turning, she made to continue down the hallway.
"I'll see you in the morning!" she called to him, waving over her shoulder, "All dressed up and ready to fight! I promise."
Though Alastor had some doubts as to the veracity of her words, they were proven wrong as he stepped outside the next morning. There Y/n was, not in her normal sweatpants and tank top but sporting what could only be called armor.
Chains dripped off her and in the gaps between them, Alastor could just make out a pair of ripped, light blue jeans with holes cut into the knees and a form fitting black top. She grinned at him as he approached, her teeth sharper than he'd ever seen them.
"See, I told you." she hummed placidly as Alastor came to a stop beside her.
The hour was upon them and yet, she showed no fear. Y/n's eyes were fixed on the place where the angels would come through, where the portal always appeared.
"I am fucking terrified." Y/n admitted.
"You don't look it."
"Oh yeah?" she smirked, turning back to him, "And how do I look?"
Alastor said nothing and Y/n gave him a light nudge.
"Fear isn't a bad thing." she sighed, "Just gotta remember who you're doing this for."
"And who might that be?"
"You, of course."
Alastor's breath caught in his throat.
"And everyone else here at the hotel." Y/n continued, seeming not to notice, "Everyone else in all of Hell, really. But mostly you, and people like you."
"Your family."
The word was sharp on his tongue, sour.
"My family." Y/n confirmed.
The portal was opening now, the first few exorcists beginning to trickle through. Y/n looked up at Alastor once more, her grin wider than it should have been as she began to transform.
"Ready, Old Man?" she asked as saliva began to drip from her elongating face.
Alastor watched in awe as before he knew it, a monster stood before him. He had always known Y/n was no bark and all bite, it was one of her defining characteristics. This, however, was different.
Limbs bent at odd angles, claws sharp, ready for blood. In some strange sense, she was beautiful. In every sense, she was powerful. Alastor understood now why Charlie had paired them together for the battle's fateful start. How she had known this aspect of Y/n and Alastor hadn't was, however, beyond him. In this moment? It did not particularly matter either.
"Just don't die." Y/n hissed softly, her breath curling hot from her mouth.
Alastor's grin grew.
"You don't either." he quipped back.
No, I won't let you.

NEXT PART → Addict pt. 2 (Yandere!Alastor x Gen Z!Reader)
A/n Did this fic make it obvious I was born and raised in Brooklyn? If not, Hi. I am from Brooklyn. My family is generationally from Brooklyn. This reader is aggressively based on myself as a gen z Brooklynite. Also, I don't live there anymore bc gentrification pushed me out. Also I am sorry this one got a bit chaotic, it just came with the territory I fear.
you didn’t know cthoni was on call and her friends didn’t know she had a younger sister. one friend of your older sister in particular takes an immediate interest in you and even though it may be wrong to date a friend of your sibling, neither you nor jabber care.
modern au, cthoni is a protective older sister, jabber is a freak (duh), reader is 18, completely consensual, freak4freak, drug usage mentioned, suggestive content, not completely proofread, possibly ooc
word count: 2863
you weren’t aware that cthoni was on the phone with friends. you left your room only for a snack and passed by her room where you heard noises similar to voices.
when you opened the door, the room was pitch black with the only source of light being cthoni’s bright computer screen.
cthoni turned around when you entered and from where you stood, you could tell there were at least a few people in the call so you decided not to bother.
you closed her door and went about getting yourself a snack.
you left and came back a minute or two later still hearing voices emitting from her room but this time a loud voice that you could distinctly hear asking, or really, begging cthoni to tell them who that was in her background.
your older sister sounds really reluctant to. you hear her say no to every plead the voice makes.
it makes you laugh a little as you return back to your room munching on your snack.
cthoni never brings last night up to you and you never question it.
— the next time you hear anything about her friends is when they all come over to the house, unbeknownst to you.
it’s early, well not really.. it’s 1 pm but you’re still in bed trying to sleep off a crazy headache.
you’re burning hot for no reason and you refuse to have your covers over you.
you knew you shouldn’t have taken what you took last night…
you hear voices from outside your room. they aren’t close to your door but they’re definitely coming from inside the house. cthoni has visitors and she didn’t tell you..
you ignore it. they won’t be coming in here anyways. you close your eyes attempting to go back to sleep.
“hey, cthoni, is anybody else home right now?”
“no.”
“damn, bummer.”
. . .
a moment and a good while of minutes pass. then there’s the sound of footsteps approaching your room.
they belong to someone clearly trying (but failing a little) to be quiet. the sound of carpet being stepped on gives them way and then so does the sound of a door creaking.
you’re not conscious though. you’re napping soundly on your bed but the person gets close to your bed anyway after noticing.
“dang, you’re asleep right now?” the person says as they crouch to your level.
you stir awake at their voice. you’re met with a person with thick locks and wide eyes extremely close to your face causing you to flinch.
“ohh, you’re awake.”
“are you one of my sister’s friends!??” you ask feeling a little startled.
“cthoni ain’t ever mention me? damn. she must really not want us meeting you.”
“did you sneak into my room just to see me?”
“you can’t blame me for being curious.”
“no, i guess not.” you say, eyeing the man up and down. he’s cute from what you can see even if he’s lowkey invading your personal space.
“name’s jabber, now what are you doing still in bed? you should come out and join us.”
“jabber, don’t tell cthoni but i’m sleeping off a headache right now. took some heavy weed last night and it’s fucking me up.”
“oh~? you one of those people~?”
“mhm.” you nod.
“damn i like you. you don’t seem afraid to try stuff.”
“hey, i have my limits but some weed doesn’t hurt anybody.”
jabber giggles a little at your comment. he already likes you more than your sister, you’re pretty cool. plus you’re easy on the eyes.
“you should dip before cthoni comes and kills you for coming to my room while i’m asleep. she’s protective as hell.”
“pssht- i ain’t scared of her! but i’ll go.”
jabber stands back up straight. he’s about to leave before he remembers to do something really quickly.
he rummages around your room quickly to find anything to write with. luckily he finds a single sharpie just laying around.
“you didn’t give me your name.”
“[name].”
jabber pulls your wrist out and snaps the marker open. it tickles you as he writes down something you can’t distinguish from this angle. he finishes and you look to realize that he just gave you his number.
“you seem like a good time.” jabber says almost seductively before he finally leaves your room.
.. you don’t know if that was flirting or what but if it was, you’re kinda flattered. you acknowledge how slick jabber was with giving you his number and you also acknowledge that he’s rather friendly for someone friends with your older sister.
you kinda like that guy…
— trust that you took jabber’s number and put it down in your phone.
you don’t mean to sneak around your sister but you think she’d probably be mad if she knew one of her friends approached you.
that’s why you haven’t mentioned anything about jabber to her, just in case. but at the same time, you think that there’s a good chance she already knows when you’re out so late like this.
you’re sitting in the backseat of jabber’s car with him. the heat is on to give you some warmth during the cold night but you still find yourself cuddled up to the dreaded man.
not that he minds. he’s yapping away about the crazy shit he gets into with his friends, your sister, and some people he knows.
you’re listening but also not really. you’re watching jabber intently and trying to pay attention to everything but everything he’s saying is going in one ear and out the other.
you’re fascinated by his face, so much so that you’re starting to imagine it in places. right in front of you, under you, in between… your legs…
“yo, what are you thinking about?” jabber yells, snapping you out of your trance.
you didn’t realize it but imagining that stuff got you physically reacting to it and you unconsciously started squeezing jabber with your hand that’s already wrapped around him.
“-shit- you didn’t feel that.”
“nah, nah- i felt that. what’re you thinkin about??”
your cheeks and body start to burn now that you’re embarrassed. jabber thinks it’s kinda cute.
you wouldn’t be squeezing him so hard (and so good) if you weren’t thinking something weird.
jabber leans in closer to you and traps you under his body weight. his face is just inches away from yours. it’s intimidating and harder for you to keep a straight face.
he’s giving you no choice but to be honest here.
you consider lying but as cthoni’s told you before, you’re terrible at that..
“you had to be thinkin’ something real nasty if you don’t wanna say it!”
“i was not!”
“then why not say it? there’s no shame here.”
the way you tense up doesn’t go unnoticed by jabber.
“ohh~ you were thinkin something freaky~”
“…” you squeeze the hand that still resides on jabber’s side harder.
he smiles wide. excited, not just by what you’re thinking but your actions as well.
“you just diggin’ your nails in me? you could’ve just asked. i would let you do that all night! you could even scratch the shit out of me! i don’t mind~”
“..- you want me to do that??”
“i’m letting you right now, aren’t i? i don’t mind the pain one bit~”
… that got you wet.. damn. you think to yourself.. you didn’t think something as unhinged as that being said to you would be so attractive..
“honestly.. i was kinda thinking of doing that.”
“oh i knew you were a freak!”
jabber grins wide, full teeth, wrinkled face. he’s hella excited from your proposal that he doesn’t contain it. he practically tackles you to the seat making your body fly as you hold onto him firmly.
“i’ve been waiting a long time for that! you don’t even know!”
“how long? since you met me?”
“no joke!”
jabber kisses your lips with a roughness. he bites your lip hard, breaking skin and making you bleed.
you flinch from the pain but feel too engulfed in the kiss to pull away. you let your hands roam around jabber’s back. when he pulls you in more, you pull at the first thing you reach which ends up being his hair.
jabber groans into your mouth and giggles hard. you’re receptive to what he likes and act to inflict more on him.
jabber moves too. while your lips press against each other, he snakes a hand up and pulls your locks of hair too. it gives him an advantage to kiss you deeper, tongue shoving into you.
you release a small moan and that only encourages jabber to do more. his fingers rake your back, creating a burning friction against your skin.
the pain hurts in a way that feels foreign to you. by accident, you bite down on jabber’s tongue with full force.
he yells and pulls back, shocked by your action. he has to palm his mouth to clean the droplet of blood that spills out.
“you just bit me-!”
“fuck- i’m so-”
“i didn’t know that was on the table! hey, do that again!”
“oh-”
jabber doesn’t give you another minute to think before he clamps onto some of your exposed skin.
“aah-!”
“let those screams out!”
…
you did not get out of that unscathed or unmarked..
you stand by your doorstep waving goodbye to jabber from his driver seat.
you fumble with your keys and unlock the door, giving one last wave before you step inside.
you step inside and close the door behind you but are immediately met with cthoni sitting on the living room couch staring dead at you with her wide eyes and crossed legs and folded arms.
you step right back out.
“…”
you turn to jabber who’s still parked in your driveway. you signal to him to leave already.
you assume he knows what you’re trying to say by the look he gives you.
he listens to you and you take a large breath before you reenter when he finally drives off and out of sight. you knew you were gonna have to face cthoni’s interrogation when you got back..
“heyyyyy, sis..”
“where have you been?”
“out…?”
“where?”
“uh.. in a parking lot..”
“with who?”
“no one…” you hope to god that cthoni doesn’t see any of the bite marks littered all over your body.
“no one?”
“no one.”
“you’re a terrible liar.”
“… i know..”
“tell me who it was.”
“i can’t dooo thattt…”
“why not?”
“yk, protecting my peace.. and theirs.. more so protecting them…”
cthoni hums. not in approval but in content, for now. she can’t force you to say anything since you are technically an adult but she still doesn’t like that you’re sneaking around. she will find out who you’re out with. and it better not be who she thinks it is..
— you texted jabber later that night.
you know, it feels kinda wrong for you to be messing around with a friend of your sister’s but you wonder if that’s just you being extra sensitive.
you mean.. he’s your age.. and he’s really cute.. and cthoni’s 27… you wonder why he’s even in her friend group but either way.. it’s not like she’d like him.. so is it really wrong?
you don’t care.
the next time you guys hang out, you don’t give the predicament a second thought.
this time though, you didn’t exactly plan this.
it’s late at night and you’re still wide awake scrolling on your phone.
suddenly, you hear a quiet knock at your window. then another one. you look up past your phone and to your curtains. there’s even a silhouette fading through your blackout curtains so you know you’re not going crazy.
you don’t wanna check. you have half the mind to go run and get cthoni or take matters into your own hands if this is some stalker or peeping tom, but you get a text from jabber.
“open up” is what you read. oh, so that’s jabber at your window.
you get to your window and push back the curtains to reveal standing pressed against it.
“bruh, about time.” jabber ushers you out the way so he can crawl in.
“jabber- why are you here right now?? it’s so late.”
“what? i can’t come see you now? i got bored.”
“not what i’m saying but you could’ve at least warned me. i thought you were some weirdo.”
“nah, it’s not fun that way.”
“you aren’t worried about cthoni seeing you?”
“i told you this, i’m not scared of her.”
“she would’ve killed you if she thought you were somebody trying to break in. or she would’ve done it just because it’s you.”
“don’t worry about itt, i can take her.” jabber says as he pinches your cheeks together. “now paint these for me.”
from his pocket, jabber tosses a bottle of nail polish at you and shows you his nails.
the coat of paint on there currently is chipping and some nails don’t even have a coat anymore.
“you just want me to paint your nails? i can do that.”
you fold your legs to sit crisscrossed and take jabber’s hands.
he watches you with intent eyes as you put the bottle somewhere to keep it from falling and begin to paint.
jabber likes how focused you are. it’s cute. he’s feeling hella calm right now but somehow, you’re slightly turning him on. don’t know why.
maybe it’s the little sleepwear you have on that’s giving him a good look at everything or just the fact that you still haven’t shown genuine annoyance at him or his actions so far into whatever you guys have going on that he’s appreciative for.
he doesn’t know. he cares more about what you’re doing right now and you’re finally finishing up.
“let this one dry. gimme your other hand.”
jabber obliges with a smile on his face. he’s doesn’t know where to hold his hand though so he pushes it against your forehead.
“… what are you doing?”
“you’re hardheaded as shit by the way.” jabber laughs.
“HARDHEADED-??- how am i hardheaded?!”
“i mean physically, girl.” jabber says as he knocks on your forehead.
you knock on his head in retaliation, doing it a little harder than he did.
“what? that make you mad?”
you huff in irritation. you stop doing his nails just because he insulted you out of nowhere.
“aw come on, don’t be like that.”
jabber grabs you by the waist and pulls you closer, smushing your foreheads together. your faces are close enough now that the tips of yours noses touch.
“you sensitive or something?”
“no, i’m just not tolerating it.”
“i didn’t mean it as bad, girl!” jabber laughs at your expense.
“you keep laughing and i’ll show you just how hard my head is.”
“oh? is that a threat?”
“no, i’m promising it.”
“yeah? prove it.”
you give jabber a nasty glare before you give him the meanest headbutt in the nose.
he falls back, having to hover his hands underneath his nose to catch any blood that threatens to fall down. jabber can feel it pooling up too. it only takes seconds before a stream of blood comes running down.
jabber doesn’t even say anything upon seeing the irritated yet satisfied look on your face. he only gives you that wide grin before he jumps on you and tackles you to the mattress.
“you wanna play like that?!”
“hey, you started it.”
jabber invades your personal space once more. his lips aim toward yours but you, not wanting to get blood in your mouth, tried to avoid it.
jabber grips your chin and gets you still to kiss you. you get a taste of the blood running down his mouth and it starts to get on you.
you wanna fight but you eventually give it up.
your hands find their way under jabber’s hoodie after a few seconds of you two not giving the time to breathe.
you can feel the slimness of his waist and his toned abs when you rub him.
“can you look at what you did..”
jabber says in a breathy, laughing tone. he pulls away and directs your attention to the growing tent in his pants.
“you broke my nose and now you got me erect, man.. that’s not even what i came here for..”
“so what, jab? are you asking me to do something about it..?”
“yeah.. it’s only fair, ain’t it?”
“hmm.. i guess i should. to be fair.”
you let jabber kiss you once more. you’ve accepted the taste of blood that merges within your tongues. you even draw your own when jabber nips at your bottom lip.
you feel him lower his hands down to your waist and grab it making you arch off instinct.
but then your bedroom door slams open.
you both pause abruptly to see cthoni standing in the doorway. seems she finally caught you two..
“oohh, cthoni~ you finally caught us.”
you look at jabber, fearing for your life but more importantly, his.

Headcanons
Vil is always at least a little worried about your state and condition since it's not exactly preventable.
It doesn't help that Vil tends to have a busy life between his own schoolwork, being a housewarden, and his endeavors outside of school.
While he's away either at a shoot or just caught up in a meeting, he assures to send you little messages and voice clips as reminders.
The most common ones are the following:
" Dear do be sure you're resting; I don't want you feeling faint walking to a class"
"I've left some drinks in your fridge to help; they're sodium and hydrating so hopefully they help with your spells."
"Do me a favor beloved and sit will you? breaks are important."
While he comes off stern and maybe a bit of a worry wart, he does deeply care and wants to make your life better and easier.
Vil doesn't trust you in the kitchen alone
That doesn't mean he won't let you cook but he prefers you do it with him or someone else there as well.
He would feel horrible if you had a fainting spell in the middle of cooking and got a burned.
When he is able to be near your side he tends to stand near, not quite touching but he's within arm's reach to grab you the moment he sees you fading or swaying.
He will do his own research, though illness in his eyes is much like any skin care or style, it's never a one size fits all.
So, he will sit with you and ask you how you want him to help, more so how he can help without it feeling like he's babying you at all times.
Making sodium rich foods that taste good also helps, which is odd since usually he would avoid too much salt in his own diet.
But once more it's never a one size fits all!
When you do faint Vil does panic when he first few spells and when you faint
He is not weak by any means, yoga does build muscle after all so the first spell, he's able to take you to a bench or somewhere safe until you come to.
he does worry a lot over you once you do wake up, wonders if it was a lack of water or food, or if you were ill.
Explaining will lead into Vil asking how he can help since he won't always be there to catch you.
Vil has always been big on taking care of yourself even more so now with your fainting.
Though it doesn't change how he acts with you for the most part other than being a little more aware of you and possible things you could hit on the way down.
When he isn't able to be by your side and is still too worried, he may send Rook to watch after you just to be safe.
Oneshot: Falling for the Queen
Yes I am aware the title is cheesy as all hell hush!!-
It was your average day at Night Raven College; classes were going smoothly as usual- that is as normal as it could be going for this school. Though while the day was going as normal, that didn't mean it was easy by any means. Bad sleep paired with a bit of gnawing nervousness for a test in Treins' class had you in not the best of moods. And cardinally not in the best of physical state. You had slept in late due to studying the night before and may have forgotten to grab something to eat. Thankfully you did have the wits about you to grab a water bottle and electrolyte packet before rushing out to class.
Of course, a certain queen had noticed your less than kind start to the day and did worry. After all you already were prone to fainting when conditions were normal, and this morning hadn't been the best way to start your week. Vil was lucky enough to catch you as you left your second class of the day placing a hand over his chest with a small frown.
"Why, Dearest, you look drained. I've told you proper sleep is something you should care about." Vil lightly scolded but sighed when you gave him a sheepish smile explaining that you were going to be fine. After all what's one night of wasted sleep going to do? Vil though did insist on walking you to your next class, which you couldn't really argue since his class was in the same direction. Which was a good thing he did.
Part way through your walk to your class your head began to feel a little fuzzy, and movements began to turn more and more sluggish. Before you could hit the floor or fully go limp Vil wrapped his arm behind your shoulders and then under your knees to carry you as the world faded out.. Vil sighed, though he wasn't mad at you, he understood that stress and work did press on you far more than usual lately. And it wasn't your fault for your condition.
"Oh, Sweet potato- What am I going to do with you hm?" Ignoring the stares and whispers he took you too the courtyard for some fresh air. He sat the two of you down on a bench and waited for you to come to. When you did Vil moved his hand to cover your eyes from the sun so that you weren't blinded when you awoke from your spell. Vil did chuckle softly as you looked around a little confused before he explained.
"You had one of your fainting spells, most likely due to your lack of proper nutrition and sleep this morning." He explained as he took your water bottle from your bag and handed it to you.
"Drink up now, and I'll be ordering your food for lunch and dinner today. I have to make sure you're taken care of, don't I?" Vil asked softly letting you take a drink of from the bottle before brushing his knuckles against your cheek and placing a soft kiss to your forehead.
"But in any manner, do take this time to rest, while I do know you've fallen for me, I don't need a daily reminder."
you're supposed to be somewhere else, but due to embarassing circumstances, you're stuck in your bedroom with your best friend. little do you know, he has a massive crush on you.

⌗ aux : you and me by the lifehouse
you're not one to make mistakes. usually, everything just works out for you. you guess that all of that good luck is coming to get you now.
you've found yourself in quite the situation. right now, you're hiding in your room from your roommates pieck and annie because you're supposed to be going on "The Date" with who is now your ex. you'd talked up and down for days that it was going to be the night he finally popped the question, only for him to call and break up with you when you're on the bus to the restaurant.
unfortunately for you, you aren't supposed to be home until a late breakfast tomorrow. you were able to sneak back in, but you can't leave your room until at least noon tomorrow when they're both gone for work.
it really isn't that bad if you don't think about how sad it is that you'd rather isolate in your room than simply explain to your friends you were wrong. to feel better, you've decided to distract yourself with the self care of a lifetime.
you're wearing a cute pajama top and shorts, your hair is up in a messy bun pushed back by a cute headband to keep your hair out of your face while you cleanse and moisturize, and you've got music playing in your earbuds. you push your ex to the back of your mind, he doesn't even exist right now.
while you're in the bathroom washing your face, you fail to hear your door open or the footsteps on your hardwood floor. you hum to your music blissfully aware.
"[name]?" a voice calls out, just barely loud enough for you to hear.
your heart practically stops as you freeze in place, ready to come up with some excuse that your ex got sick or pushed back the reservation. when you look over and see that it's not one of your snoopy roommates, but your best friend reiner.
"oh my god," you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding, "what are you doing here?"
he opens his mouth to answer before coming to the realization that you're not really supposed to be here either, "what are you doing here? are you okay? are you running late, do you need help?"
his gaze darts around your perfectly organized room, the room of someone who is exactly where they want to be and definitely not running late.
he just turns back to you and goes quiet, waiting for you to speak.
"um," you start, moisturizer still laying unmassaged on your face, "he cancelled..?"
reiners brows furrow, "he what? i thought it was going to be 'The Date'?"
you avoid eye contact and begin to rub in your moisturizer, "next one probably."
you hope he'll believe that terribly blatant lie. he just steps closer and rests his hand on the corner of the counter where you can see him.
"what really happened?" he asks softly. his voice is so genuine and kind it makes you just want to accept your heartbreak and start crying.
you let out a shakey sigh, "he broke up with me."
"i'm so sorry, [name]," he frowns, "but why doesn't annie know you're here?"
you lower your hands at your sides and face him, still looking down, "she's always complaining about him, you know her, i didn't want her to have the chance to say 'i told you so.'"
"annie is the type of person to do that," he chuckles softly, "but she's also the type of person to be there for you regardless."
you consider for a moment doing that, but it only scares you even more. you take a deep breath, you mind wandering back to the relationship. those memories you always thought were so real come crashing down like a house of cards. was it ever real?
"or we don't have to do that," he smiles softly as if he can read your mind.
you look up at him with a small smile, "i just want to deal with this without bothering them, i don't even want to bother you."
he rests his hand on your forearm comfortingly, "you know you'll never bother me, [name]."
you chuckle softly as you dry your hands on your towel laying against the counter, "you're a saint, you know that right?"
he ignores your comment, "what can i do to help you?"
you think for a beat, "wait, why are you here anyway?"
reiner holds up the hoodie he let you borrow a while ago, you hadn't even noticed it, "annie said you were gone and i could just come in and grab it."
"oh, okay," you bite your lip softly, "could you just, like, not leave tonight?"
he blinks a couple of times, "what?"
you twist a strand of hair between your fingers, "i know it's weird. i just don't want to be alone tonight, i don't think reality has hit me yet."
before even thinking, he nods, "i'll stay."
"thank you."
while you finish your self care he pretends to leave. for the moment he's gone, you panic slightly.
you've been friends with reiner for as long as you can remember. your mothers were dear friends, you practically grew up together. as you got older, you only got closer. the two of you even lived together for a few years until your ex didn't fancy that so you moved in here.
needless to say, it's been some time before you'd been alone in the same room with him for longer than a couple of hours. deep down, you feel a little guilty and you're not even dating him anymore.
that thought hurts you more than you'd like to admit.
before you have the chance to delve into that, the door creeks open quietly and reiner sneaks back inside. you turn to face him and he's smiling softly.
"what do you want to do now?" he asks softly.
you step out of the bathroom and sit down on the end of your bed, "why don't we catch up?"
he hesitantly sits beside you, staring you down with a nervous look, "okay."
you let out a deep breath, "firstly, i'm sorry for the way things went down in november. honestly, i shouldn't have let him push me around enough to ditch my best friend."
he smiles softly, "it's okay," his reassuring voice instantly calms you, "besides, seeing you at all is good enough."
he looks around your room silently. you never really unpacked fully when you moved into this apartment. it just never felt the same like it was with reiner. it's not home.
"your room is always there though," he whispers.
you peek over at him through the hair in your face, "you haven't rented to someone else?"
"i couldn't do that," he chuckles, "i didn't know if you'd ever come back."
it dawns on you just how much that affected reiner. the only thing going through your mind was how you could appease your ex.
"i'm so sorry," you let out a long breath, closing your eyes softly, "i guess i never saw how bad it was until now."
he rests his hand on your shoulder and you lean on him, scooching closer. your breathing starts to sync with his as it always does. sometimes you feel like you're just one soul with two minds.
"i never liked him anyway," reiner adds with a small pout.
a giggle escapes you, "you should have told me."
"i did," he replies.
"when?" you ask, turning your head towards him slightly.
"well, when he missed your date that one time i said things happen for a reason."
you turn to face him, deadpan, "no, that's a motivational saying, reiner. you can say 'i think that guy's an asshole' and it would have been received better."
he laughs, "noted."
a moment of silence passes and you lean against him quietly. for the first time in a couple of months, your mind is quiet. no overthinking, no worrying about what the right thing to say is, just peace. you're able to be yourself without the worry of offending anyone, a moment of calm from a terrible habit your ex gave you.
"i missed talking with you," you mumble, fidgeting with the edges of his sleeve.
before he can reply, you hear the sound of footsteps by the door. you can tell it's annie talking to pieck, but you can't hear anything they're saying. the two of you immediately go silent.
you slowly stand up and sneak over to the door, turning off the light. annie always bickers with you about the light bill, she would surely come in and turn it off if she noticed.
you know you room well, so you only ran into the edge of a wall before sneaking back over to reiner.
"i don't hear them anymore," you whisper, "they must be going to bed."
he lets out a reassuring breath, "okay, i'll get settled on the floor."
"what?" you retort, "we're best friends reiner, just sleep in the bed."
there's silence for a moment, "okay."
it isn't long before you're settled in the bed, huddled under the covers together. a part of you feels guilty still, that you're doing something you shouldn't be. you swat away those thoughts.
it is silent for a while, long enough that you think reiner fell asleep.
"are you happy?" he asks suddenly.
you turn your head to see him in the darkness, he's looking directly at you.
"happy?" you reply.
he shifts to face you fully, "that he broke up with you?"
"i don't think many people are happy after a breakup. i know he wasn't the best, but it's different now."
he lets out a soft sigh, "he was never there for you. and he didn't appreciate you. he wasn't very kind. you deserve better."
"you think so?"
he nods, "i do."
you can just barely see his eyes flicker around your face. you subtly bite your lip, your heart starts to pound in your chest. reiner slowly inches closer to you, wrapping his arm around you
it kills you how much you want this, how long you've wanted this. you think on the countless times that you've pictured him with you. but even now when your dreams are coming true, all you can think about is how mad your ex would be if he found out.
"we can't…" you mumble. you physically cannot get yourself to move away from him though. you can't help but lean into his touch.
he's quiet for a second, the only sound in the room is your heartbeat screaming and your breath quivering.
"why not?" he asks, barely under his breath. if you were any further away, you wouldn't have heard it.
you sigh and inch away slowly, "you're the only stable thing i've ever had. what if changing things means i lose you too?"
his hands move from around your neck to cup your face, "you will never lose me. no matter how we label what we have, i'm yours."
you breathe out, your voice starting to shake, "but i don't know that for sure, do i?"
"we don't know anything for sure."
"well, i don't like that," you retort.
he presses his forehead against yours, "i don't either, but it's kind of exciting isn't it?"
you go quiet for a moment as you process that. maybe instead of everything else, your fear is the problem.
"maybe."
he chuckles quietly, "i'll take that."
you wrap your arms around his back and tuck your head in his neck.
"tonight, can you just be reiner? not my best friend or something more, just someone with me in this amusingly stupid situation."
"of course," he replies, "i'm a professional at amusingly stupid situations."
you giggle and take a deep breath. for just one night you want to feel like you aren't making a mistake. you sleep better that night than you ever did with your ex.
you slept in slightly that morning, the sunshine peeking through your curtains is the only thing that keeps you from sleeping longer.
reiner seems to still be asleep so you silently slip out of bed and get ready in the bathroom. you do your skincare, brush your hair, and give yourself a rushed pep talk before stepping back out.
reiner sits on the edge of the bed yawning.
"good morning," you say plainly, testing the waters.
he turns his head back to face you, smiling like he just won the lottery. he has one of those smiles that makes your heart skip a beat. you instantly feel a warmth on your face and you worry you won't be able to contain it.
"i can't wait to get out of this stuffy room," you run over to your bedroom door partly because it's true and partly to hide your growing blush.
you quickly peek out of your door and all you're met with is silence. you heave a sigh of relief, they've both left already. you slowly close the door and look back at reiner nodding.
"do you want to stay for breakfast?" you twirl a strand of hair nervously.
he smiles, "i'll cook, can't have you burning anything okay?"
you can't help but laugh. he takes your hand and the two of you walk out into the living room, only to be met with an unexpected roommate.
annie sits on the couch sipping coffee out of her favorite mug, "i called out of work today. i just had to see this."
