5. How do you know when you’re finished writing a fic? At what point do you call it done?
12. Do you write in order, jump around the draft, or a mix? Something else?
23. What is your #1 distraction when you’re trying to write? If it’s a pet, post a pic

Okay, I will write until I feel the story has been told. But that's not the same as the *fic* being done. That's just like... the idea being explored. I will then do one of two things: post immediately because the Urge to Post is overwhelming and my impulse control is entirely theoretical, or hold it and pick at it indefinitely until the end of time because there is always something I want to change, always a word I'll swap out or a sentence I'll move around.
I would love to say I call the fic done when I post it but honestly posting is like... Okay now I can start the *final* edits. 😂😭
12 Do you write in order, jump around the draft, or a mix? Something else?
I Usually write in order, but there are always exceptions. The longer the fic the more likely that I'll write somewhat out of order either because the story is being told 'out of order' in a sense, or because I'll be writing generally in order then suddenly get struck with a scene that's significantly in the future and I don't want to lose the inspiration when it strikes - though these scenes are also subject to change depending on what comes before them.
(That is, I might write a scene in advance that no longer works as is or no longer works at all by the time I actually reach that point in the story)

Uugghhhhmmmm... lately? Probably hero forge 😆
Also: lore look-ups are fantastic distractions, you can follow those rabbit trails for days!
My cats don't tend to be a distraction, they're actually enablers. I am required to sit at the computer so the cats can sleep on me and I am punished for moving.
Thank you again for the ask!
