Aeroflex USA Celebrates 2 Years Using the Cloud Logistics Transportation Management System
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, Friday, December 5, 2014 – Aeroflex USA, Inc., a customer of Cloud Logistics since 2012, celebrates 2 years using the Cloud Logistics global Transportation Management System (TMS).
Jodi Whalen, Transportation Coordinator at Aeroflex USA said, “I have to admit I was very skeptical at first about using Cloud Logistics for our transportation needs. Having worked in the transportation industry for over 30 years at Fortune 500 companies where I gained a vast knowledge of traditional TMS solutions, I thought it was just another TMS provider trying to sell their product. Well, that was 2 years ago and today, I cannot imagine the management of my shipments without Cloud Logistics. Managing shipments for 7 warehouses can be challenging at times. However, Cloud Logistics provides a seamless process, which makes my work more productive and effective. I didn’t think it was possible, but Cloud Logistics provides a TMS that is simple to use, easy to deploy, and so configurable that you can wrap it around your operation. Aeroflex has improved efficiency by 75% and reduced freight costs.”
“The Cloud Logistics team is extremely helpful and they go above and beyond to ensure that we, as their customer, have all the tools we need to make the transport of our product more efficient. Aeroflex looks forward to many more years with Cloud Logistics. I want to take this opportunity as we celebrate 2 years to thank Mark Nix and his team for making Cloud Logistics much more than the average TMS. I also wish them the best of luck as they continue to grow,” concluded Ms. Whalen.
Mark Nix, CEO of Cloud Logistics commented, “Cloud Logistics is extremely happy to celebrate 2 years of a strategic and profitable relationship with Aeroflex. It is always exciting and rewarding to exceed the expectations of a customer who is skeptical of our innovative, modern approach to simplifying the transportation industry. Aeroflex has been a pleasure to work with and we look forward to many more anniversary celebrations together.”

Flying Hovercraft Bike By Aerofex, Inspired By Star Wars Speeder - AWESOME!
STAR WARS SPEEDERBIKE - close to being realized?
A California-based company called Aerofex have uploaded a video to YouTube, below, showing footage of their hoverbike which uses a ducted-fan to give it lift and is based on an abandoned design, due to stability issues, from the 1960s. The company added knee bars to address these issues which allow the vehicle to intuitively respond to the leaning of a human pilot, as they explain:
The pilot cruises in the direction he wishes to go with little conscious input or training. The vehicle takes cues from his intuitive movements and amplifies them aerodynamically to maintain his level flight path. By applying throttle, he can increase altitude and speed.
Created by Aerofex, the rotocraft uses helicopter dynamics to lift and propel this motorcycle-sized vehicle across rough terrain. The vehicle's first test flight occurred back in 2008, but ultimately ended in flames. But after years of improvements and field-testing, the vehicle has finally achieved driving stability with the ability to execute sharp turns and hover in place. The latest iteration of the vehicle can fly up to 15 feet in the air and reach speeds of 30 miles per hour. (via Star Wars hover bike rides into reality from the Mojave Desert | DVICE)
