Do you guys think eridians sing? I'm imagining an eridian singer coming to impress Grace but the notes are so high they're out of Grace's hearing range so to him it sounds like the song is cutting in and out. Or like imagine an Eridians' working song. Maybe the song sounds like grinding or maybe it sounds gorgeous to our ears with their melodious notes. Idk I just think it'd be so cool

I don't think people talk about how hard it is to move as a college student in the US. You're moving every 4-9 months for four years straight. And it is such a unique way of moving to pack your whole life up at the end of a school year, put it in a storage unit, and then you have no home base for three months. You go home to your parents and it's like this whole life you started is just packed and paused. At least as an oldest child it definitely felt this way, like you go home and there's nothing there waiting for you. Your room? It's been turned into an office, or a playroom, or it's your sibling's room now. Your life is all that you've brought in your suitcase and whatever unliked clothes you left behind.

And then you move into your dorm again (but a new one!) and you have to unpack all over again. Take out all your boxes, redecorate the walls, hang your lights up, rearrange the furniture, find new places for your items to go.

To be fair, I think I may be biased because I went abroad and so I packed my whole temporary life into two suitcases, went home to my parents' house, flew abroad, lived there for 5 months, packed up again, and then flew to my college. And let me tell you moving in somewhere after flying to the location is the worst experience of moving. You're not a human for a while. You don't have toilet paper, or hand soap, or cleaning supplies. You don't have a pan to cook in. You don't have any spices or any pantry goods. You probably brought a towel in your suitcase but maybe you didn't. It's like the first two days you can't use the bathroom like a normal person. You can't shower after flying. You can't cook anything.

And I usually do this! Because I fly across the country to get to my college/visit my family. It doesn't get easier though, you just sometimes get smarter about packing things you'll need right away.

And I was on campus for all four years in student housing but even if you get an apartment in town it's like if you're going to visit home for break you're still leasing only for the school year or you're subletting, and maybe you move again after a year anyway. But I'm sure it's more permanent for some people so that's nice!

All this is to say it's so messed up the way moving works in college. Not having a permanent place for your things and your life messes with you. Moving in and moving out is tiring and it sucks. People aren't supposed to do that so often. I'm not a neurologist or a therapist or anything but that shit messes with your nervous system for sure.

You never know the limits of the human body until you find them. And unfortunately for me it's not in a cool elite athlete way, it's more of a oh so that's the exact amount I can push my body until it gives way and makes me collapse
