I've always struggled deeply with loving myself. I can't pinpoint exactly where this all comes from, but I know that this reality still permeates throughout my life in ways I never expect, and yet it's always to my own detriment.
I made a feeble attempt to improve my self-love when I moved overseas but didn't create an actual plan; to no one's surprise, that fell through.
Now that things are really starting to snowball and affect my relationship, my friends and my health, I really need to take a step back and change something that I'm doing. I started seeing a therapist again this week on the advice of a friend, and she's hit me with some hard-hitting truths and pieces of homework that I've been craving for someone to tell me all along. I look forward to my next session in a week.
To begin my journey to self-love, I ordered "The Five Minute Journal" and have been conscientiously filling it out on a daily basis, but I need to do more. These last few weeks, I've felt like I prioritised myself below everyone else. That's where tumblr comes in.
I'm planning to do this simple, 30-day affirmation challenge as a way to keep myself afloat during this busy period, but also to rewire my brain to focus on the things that are really valuable to me.
As Ariana says, "I'd love to see me from your point of view," and this is so true.
