why does everyone ship blackmadhi??????? i saw it in google once and now im ABSOLUTELY HOOKED where did it COME FROM i need M O R E (is it just because they both have no one else to be shipped with if u ship a popular combination or)

hi hello!! i’m afraid i’m not an expert but i think i can answer this question!! 

hmm you’ve got an interesting theory tho i would say blackquill seems to have roughly? the same number of romantic options as most others like. i’ve seen him shipped with fulbright, the phantom, athena, or metis and occasionally even apollo or klavier but come to think of it i’ve not seen anyone paired off with nahyuta (and thank god bc most of the characters he interacts with in SOJ are fucking family)

but like fun fact people started shipping nahyuta and blackquill even before SOJ came out! back then it was just a crack ship. we didn’t know much at all about them people just really dug their opposite aesthetics together,, then the actual game came out and y’know they actually interact! so those crack shippers were hella pleased cuz like. now they have a real basis and shippers happened to like their canon rivalry-bickering sorta relationship also people who hadn’t shipped it before got into it too things only took off more from there! 

since then i think things have gone strong blackmadhi may not be the biiiigest ship but it’s well-respected like no one seems to have any problems with it and it’s got a middle-sized niche of people shipping it with some really strong content creators providing great fic and art! (if you’re into blackmadhi i definitely recommend @aceprosecuties and @nerdyskeleton) 

personally i like them just fine! i’m not intensely invested but i think it’s cute and ya i’d say it’s my top ship for simon definitely my top ship for nahyuta! blackmadhi is a distinct and interesting new part of the fandom and it’s cool i’ve seen it pop up!
