Okay this is my "after" post
because this needs to be documented and I really don't feel like putting some of these pictures smack dab on the dash and in the tags.
This whole excursion was unexpected and amazing. I've got sunburn all over my shoulders and chest now from waiting outside for this shit to start but it was well worth it.
I should probably wait to post this for when I'm coherent (I haven't slept in a very long time) and all but I'm impatient so here it goes.
so upon getting there, Kim and I were first in line. fiRST I SHIT YOU NOT. It was crazy luck and like we met up with some fellow Degrassians and seriously meeting them was wonderful. The only other Degrassi person I've ever seen in person is Kim so meeting others was crazy, and very rewarding.
and like it took a year and a half to get into the place itself but again, totally worth letting my skin burn off in the scorching sun for roughly two hours.
Someone said Munro and Luke were arriving at a back entrance, so we wouldn't run into them ahead of time but they liED because out of a car comes Munro, Luke, and JusTIN HELP ME GOD. So I didn't get to speak to Justin or get a picture with him (much to my dismay) since he had to hightail it fast but Kim did scream quite loudly at him and the other two (we were at the front of the line, I must reiterate) and I swear he grinned at her. So then we were both freaking out because they were like two fucking feet away from us for a moment and my knees were already getting wobbly (which might have been compliments of the energy drink I chugged but I'm not sure??) and yeah okay so we finally got inside. and Kim and I were clutching onto each other because wow we were about to meet them and we were still at the front of the line holy balls and then we got seated and okay this is where it got interesting.
So like we got interviewed?? for the website?? I'm pretty sure we rambled and fangirled pretty hard the entire time but yeah it was really chill and that might crop up on the teennick website idk. (so if you see my mug in a video in the coming days okay that's why)
AND THEN LIKE JUSTIN HAD TO LEAVE SO WE DIDN'T GET TO SEE HIM but I did see him walking to and fro and tbh that's more than enough for me. I was in the same room as him and that's extraordinary in my book.
so okay we were at the second table. The first table was mega packed and ours was pretty small so I'm really glad we didn't snatch up that first one. Also if we had, we wouldn't have gotten interviewed and that was really cool, I can't even lie.
so like they introduced them and took fancy ass pictures (Munro's poses had me swooning sigh alright) and then they started letting tables up one by one to do the actual meet and greet.
As we approached them, I was 65% sure I was going to pass out. I was getting lightheaded, my stomach was a fucking metal coil or sure as hell felt like one and I couldn't get a deep breath in. I was so anxious to meet them, namely Munro. Seriously Kim was like breATHE BITCH before I went up and yeah. So by the time I got up there, I had calmed down.
Luke was like "How are you?" all friendly and sweet like he is and I was like "Wonderful" because I was wonderful; I'm still wonderful. Fuck after this I'll always be wonderful.
I had a note I wrote out to Munro, a very brief but very heartfelt one and I handed it to him. And this is him taking it from me okay:

And we got to chatting while they signed the journal Axi got me for Christmas this past year as well as head shots they had there (which are very dapper and sitting in frames rn might I add) ((also note Luke's cute derp pls))
and we got to random conversation spanning from Luke complimenting my tattoo and looking at it, to both him and Munro asking if my septum piercing hurt to get or not (which it didn't really) and Munro gave me this look like 'girl you cray' and it was sassy and I enjoyed it. And yes so they gave me the head shots with the signatures

and THEN MY FAVORITE PART EVER. I ASKED MUNRO FOR A HUG
He gave me a one armed hug (you can't see his arm but I swear it's there, he gives very nice hugs) and I told him he's my hero and god the expression I got back after I said that wow. He's so sweet, so genuine and so down to earth. Munro gives you absolutely every reason in the world to like him. And he smells divine.
and then I hugged Luke lalala I look silly here because derp moment but he was so smiley and I loved that about him. He's such a sweetie pie.
Anndddddd after that, Kimmy got to go up and she GOT A GROUP HUG FROM BOTH AND IT WAS FUCKING ADORABLE I CANNOT and I tried to take a competent picture of them but my hand was so shaky so this camera guy near me was like :hey I can help" and he took excellent pictures. A+++ camera guy, you go camera guy. I would have botched that shit up so I'm really glad he did it.
and then Kimmy and I got interviewed again as an ~after the experience~ sort of thing and we basically rambled and flailed and hey maybe you'll see it if they air it online, who knows~
and then I proceeded to sob out of happiness once I was out of Munro and Luke's line of vision and earshot. I couldn't even hold it back anymore wow.
Because a) we must remember I'm severely sleep deprived and b) I was overwhelmed. I finally got to meet Munro after convincing myself I'd never, ever get the chance to. I'm not the luckiest person out there and it just didn't seem to be in the cards. I could accept it, I really could. But this chance came out of nowhere thanks to Kim and her fucking stubborn persistence with that contest which I just adore. She's the whole reason I got to go and I'll never stop thanking her for it. I swear, this experience was perfect because of her. Not to get all best-friend-sentimental but fuck man, I'm so lucky to be her best friend; to have met her through Degrassi, I seriously am.
so like other stuff happened (among them Luke dancing very adorably and everyone cheering for him, and Munro looking at him as though he had twenty heads. Also the camera man distracting all of us so Luke and Munro could swiftly escape. Very smart move) and yeah.
I'm losing my train of thought from there because basically it was a flurry of "THAT JUST HAPPENED" and "GOD I FINALLY MET HIM" from me and there's no need to rehash my amazement. It speaks for itself.
I ranted so much here. I swear I've never made this lengthy a post on here but this event required it. I'm still shaking, five/six hours later. I'm not over-exaggerating when I say it was the best day of my life, spent with the best people possible.
like honestly this will never not be cheesy as fuck, but that man is my hero and being able to tell him was unlike anything else. Seeing him and getting to speak to him, even about the simplest of things was unreal.
It just cements the fact that this show means something to me for a reason. It's not just a show, it's seriously how I met my best friends and coped with shit changing rapidly in my life. I really don't know how else I would have endured things if not for the show.
So yeah. Best day of my life, and I can't stop smiling now. This grin is permanently fixed on my face.
