No vacancy sign

I created a colour shift neon sign for our music clip group project .In the beginning I did just a normal sign for my hotel scene but it seems there was a  something missing.It needed a dynamic element in this scene to  have consistency with other scene then I did a colour shift simply by key frames in After effect.

What i did here,firstly I created the texts with red and white colours then applied “glow”then created the outside  ellipse applied glow again.After this I just set the key with 2 colours,which are blue and pink.The purple is just the colour shift phase  between this 2 colours.

In Rendaa Studio ’s You tube “Glowing Neon Text” uses more effects such as cc vector blur and echo to create more impressive 3D glow neon text and another tutorial I found also uses the similar method.

There are 2 websites that we could download fonts,which are “Dafont.com” and  1001fonts.com. For our project we used the “Dodger”to fit our 80s art style .

After created the neon text I forgot to did a camera track to place my text.I was struggling with the moving text.Thank Azam for helping me to add camera track and null so it won’t move anymore. However I wasn’t satisfied with my cat motion ,it meant that I had to do it again.I did a camera tracker tutorial research to help me do tracker due to my bed memory.

The final neon sign on my hotel lobby also applied the mask(blur effect) to pretend radiation from the text.  This idea was from Azam as well.

Here is the final result of my scene.

I found my text does not really match the wall. The perspective of the sign needs to be adjusted.Be honest,I tried many times but could not found a nice angle.Perspective is one area I have to study more.
