Kindness was not unknown to Yamamoto. It was a distant friend, fleeting in its lifespan and fickle in nature. It had its applications. Today, as yet another traitor placed themselves before judgement, kindness had no purpose.
“You speak for mercy, Yaso Sayuri, as though you are anything but an enemy of the Soul Society.” No attempt is made to suppress fury, nor flaring reiatsu smothering the landscape. “Your time is better spent explaining yourself before I grow tired of your noise.”
her body has HARDLY healed from aizen’s assault -- everything still feels OUT OF PLACE, and it’s why she cannot even stand before him. her thin wrists chafe from the wooden handcuffs keeping her arms behind her back. sayuri remains on her knees -- there’s a tremble throughout her body from the FEAR and the weakness. she expected this. aizen also knew if she was alive, she would succumb to the same fate. . . in the end, she was always destined for failure.
sayuri bows her head before him, tears burning her eyes. “ i -- “ it’s hard to speak, when her throat feels paralyzed by the fear coursing through her veins -- by the reiastu overcoming her own. “k -- a -- “ just SAY SOMETHING. “w--when aizen had betrayed. . . us. . . he invited me to come along with him. . . i told . . . k--kyoraku-taichou. . . and -- he . . . encouraged m--me to spy on him.” it had been a DANGEROUS plan. it’d been a side of kyoraku-taichou she never saw, even though he had warned her about how badly things could’ve ended up. . . and here she is. “i -- “ she chokes back a sob. she’s WEAK and PATHETIC, and perhaps he will kill her here. a fitting end. “i -- needed to -- play the p--part. . .”
“bi-han,” sayuri murmurs, sitting on his back as he does PUSH-UPS. she’s got a stick of pocky in her mouth. they’ve come a LONG WAY in their friendship, but there is still a rivalry between them. she moves to flick the back of his head. “when are you going to tell soifon-taichou how you feel, hmmmm~?” || @ofshadowgami from sc
“drinks?” she asks, placing her hands on her hips. they’ve had a GOOD sparring session; they’re both covered in blood, but sayuri always LOVES a good fight. she rubs her shoulder a little bit, rolling it. “it is ALWAYS a pleasure, stone-fukutaichou.” || @icybreaths from sc
@cessatiio replied to your post:
He can’t even answer that, he’s too confused, even by here mere presence wandering the seireitei in her blanket and pajamas, “…why’re you out here??”
“. . . because i could not sleep.” immediately, she wants to HIDE. his facial expression makes her insides twist, and she tries to stop her tears. sayuri is a mess, and she cannot REVEAL her pain to others. it’s not fair on jun. her hair covers her face, and she hugs her blanket tighter. “i’ll -- be going back to bed soon.” don’t cry, don’t cry -- for FUCK’S sake don’t cry -- it doesn’t matter. . .

This used to be his spot. He would come out here and swing his feet off the edge of the roof like a child. Pretending shit was simple.
“…oh.” He should leave her be; things have been tense since his return. He just doesn’t know quite what to do with her. His usual blend of nonchalance mixed with tough love just feels cruel, or not cruel enough. He subtly indicates the half-empty bottle of gin he’s carrying, left over from his welcoming party. “Drink?”
it had been another NIGHTMARE that roused her from sleep. they’re still frequent. the guilt is insurmountable. she places a hand over her stomach where the SCAR is -- where she’s been cleanly sliced in two. ( it’s AMAZING she’s still alive.) “did you want to be alone?” she asks softly, tilting her head. it’s been -- hard navigating her feelings, and having a new captain -- being here after everything. . . she’s still trying to discern how she feels about hirako-taichou.
though, her tired blue eyes fall onto the bottle. and then, she nods. “ -- hell yeah.”
“miki-san,” sayuri yawns, leaning her cheek against her hand. “how LONG do we have to stay here?” || @hanabiira
